  1. Photos, cops, legal papers. And if the legit way fails, baseball bat to their car.
  2. Don't forget, that's about $40K per season! So you ship up to Alaska in September, stay until March, bust your ass for maybe one month total, and end up with $60-100 grand (depending on boat, share, etc.) And if that haul on the brown king crab boat was the usual, you could work from AUgust to March and take home $150-200K. Granted, you dont' get full share until you've worked on a boat for a couple years. But if you can handle the pain, you make some seriously good money. Personally, I'm not in any shape to do that. But if you're in good shape and can put the pain, cold, and lack of sleep out of your mind and just work, it doesnt' seem like too bad of a deal. Unfortunately, getting a berth on a crab boat is nigh impossible now because of the new quota fishing regs. I wonder if the average army grunt could do this. It seems like someone fresh from the military would fit right in. You take orders and work yourself to your physical limits as a cog in a larger machine. Or do you think crab fishing would be more than the normal military physical training would prepare you for? I've seen SEAL training, and that looks like crab fishing conditions...

    gun control?

THIS is why guns should be banned!! Just kidding. I think putting car keys in the hands of all the idiots out there is more dangerous than guns.
  4. Deadliest Catch covers the Red King Crab and "Opie" (Snow Crab) seasons which are pretty close together. The rest of the years, the boats fish other places as well. But that's at least two seasons with big paychecks like that. This season they showed a Brown King Crab boat. The full-share deckhands pulled in over $90K. Thing is, the regular crab boats aren't rigged/designed for that kind of fishing.
  5. I would wait until there's a confirmed crack for SP1. I believe MS is going to leave that trick in Vista, BUT it'll run with some features shut off.
  6. Man, if I thought a kick to the nuts would keep me from being swept overboard, I'd take the hit.
  7. I wish it was on HD. Got a setup specificly for stuff like this, and the HD discovery channel I get from Time Warner doesn't simulcast. Hell, I can't even find an HD airing of DC in the guide. I *HATE* cable. It's just one big half-assed ball of fail.
  8. Wow, I don't think they could have had a more amazing season opener if they had scripted it.. A leaking boat, a bad propshaft, premonitions, REALLY bad omens, questionable greenhorns, and pranks before they even left dock. God I love this show.
  9. I'm really curious about this season. In the previews they showed a crab pot being launched like a lobster pot (off the back of the boat, tethered to a line along with other pots.) That's a new boat for the show. And Sig is the man... He'll work you until you drop, but you're going home with a huge paycheck.
  10. New season starts at 9pm, recap of season 3 at 8pm. Looks like two new eps too! I'm sure I'm not the only one that likes this show, so I thought I'd post a reminder. I hate missing new eps of my favorite shows.
  11. That's an olympic medalist in trampoline. He's also one of the top contenders for "Ninja Warrior."
  12. PS3. Cheapest Blu-Ray, and it plays games... most notably, GT5 when it comes out.

    dream job

Got nothing, told me to go back and do it all again... First e-harmony turns me down, now there's no job for me... I need to go play the lottery and buy a hooker with my winnings.
  14. Andy, can you fix this? http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3291/2302937291_222a61874a.jpg j/k.
  15. Holy FUCK that's funny. 'Specially because I followed the proof link from the original.
  16. It's everywhere, man. There's a Cinci division if you're that far south.
  17. I have in the past, but I wasn't happy with the beating the car took. You could always ask around, or borrow a car. Fastest car at the OVR races is a 2001 RS. At the Crystal MI RallyX, it was an AWD Mazda 323!! Fast is pretty cheap in RallyX. A friend that I traveled to MI with raced his 2000 Impreza Outback wagon in Stock AWD, and placed 1st above a number of WRXes. A couple minutes of looking at CL netted some likely RallyX cars.
  18. http://www.centralohiosubarus.com http://www.dirtyimpreza.com ..and get a hold of me. There's a lot of fun to be had out there if you're not afraid of getting your car a little dirty. (Plus the annual COS Hocking Hills run is a nice bonus. Just get your WRX before 9/13.)
  19. I had a LOT of fun. The tires made a huge difference but I was still beaten by a DSM with snows. RallyX is young enough that driving skill is still the #1 mod. There just isn't a 'killer setup' yet. http://www.ovr-scca.org/ <-Schedules, Rules, etc. OVR, WOR, and Detroit divisions are having a Great Lakes Divisional. The first race is two sundays from today (4/20). It'll be at National Trails, overflow lot "F". Subsequent races will be in other locations. After the 20th, OVR RallyX will be on break until Sept. so you guys racing at National Trails don't get all dusty. (OVR is looking for another location so they can have more RallyX races, but it's difficult. It has to be either commercial or industrial/farming, and not many owners of either type like wasted space.) Information can be found at the above address, dlbracing.com, and in this thread on DI: http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4327 Come, have fun, and get your cars dirty. There was actually A TBSS at the Crystal MI RallyX. I was very impressed with it. Someone also turned up in a 2007 Lincoln MKZ. Honestly, if it's got 4 wheels, runs, and passes tech, it's probably been raced in RallyX. Old volvos, buicks, Crown Vics, etc. So come out and race whatever you've got. You dont' have to drive hard to have fun.
  20. I went up to the Detroit region to get my RallyX fix, and attended their "Spring Fling" RallyX at Crystal Motor Speedway. It was a blast with only two sloppy corners. The physical size of the course looked close to the OVR course size, but the times were WAY down (50 sec.+ in the morning, high 40 second runs in the afternoon.) This was a fast course. So here are pics of Jr breaking in his new rims and tires. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2323/2406009382_5e878d4ecd.jpg Here's why rally tires have such THICK beads: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3053/2406009348_8d1727de59.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3216/2405177317_84ab5e38a0.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3239/2405177265_ca2369d9a4.jpg Look at the direction I'm looking (those are the SOLO/SCCA stickers on the left cheek of my helmet), where the front tires are pointing, and where the dirt is going. That's some 4-wheel DORIFTO action! http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2047/2405176679_bec8646c7a.jpg I don't think I could brake this hard on dirt without those tires: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3290/2405177015_83644e9d45.jpg There are more on my flickr account, just click the pics. Thanks to Rob Bucchi, Fred Stafford, and Kenneth Tsang for the pics! I'm hoping someone got some video of me too since my camera decided it wasn't going to work for me. As a side note, I think I understand a bit of the ricer mentality. Ever since I went with white rims and stickers on Jr, I get a lot more looks from girls. Though unfortunately (or fortunately, depending..) they've all looked like jailbait.

  22. Well that's just silly.. What would have happened if he took you up on the deal? You'd be stuck with a goat and no Starburst! n00b!
  23. My god.. I didn't think it would be possible to repost something this much.. Is this post #5 for this?
