  1. The AutoX school is far from mandatory, but it's just such a great tool for starting drivers that I highly reccomend it. Very often studens will say "I didn't know my car could do that!"
  2. 3300lbs.. So STI weight class.. Not bad. We'll see how much of that weight loss makes it to production in the higher powered trims, however.
  3. The problem, in my mind, isn't that the meteorologists are wrong so often. The problem is that they are right just often enough that you can't outright ignore them.
  4. Must've sounded like the world was ending when that thing tore itself apart.
  5. Looks like I was right about the "Fastback". I want to see what the final weight is. If it's sub 3500, I'll be happy. If it's closer to 3000 I'll be ecstatic. First Chevy makes a Vette I want to own, and now Ford may have made a Mustang I'd want to own. What is this world coming to?
  6. Then make SURE you go to the AutoX school. Get pre-registered for it as soon as you can on MotorSportReg.com. You get 1-on-1 instruction in your own car outside of a competition environment so you can concentrate on learning as much as you can. You'l end the day much faster than you started, no question.
  7. Hopefully they relocated the vents, or good bye transaxle..
  8. A "Competition Set" of wheels is a gateway drug...
  9. That would be awesome. DethVolvo vs Farm Truck! Someone needs to make this happen.
  10. It's crazy how narrow-sighted people are. This is like Netflix vs Blockbuster all over again. There's a demand, and someone's going to fill it. Except this time, we can see the change coming MILES off. The change is coming whether you like it or not. See it, identify why it's coming, and then GET ON BOARD WITH IT. Find a way to make it work for you rather than against you, or get crushed by it. Nothing stays the same forever; change is inevitable. I have no sympathy for businesses who sit passively by trying to hold back a tidal wave with pieces of paper and end up wondering what happened. If the recording industry had embraced Napster instead of fighting it, their profits would likely be double what they are now. If Blockbuster had embraced Netflix's business model and leveraged their established name, we'd be watching Blockbuster streaming on our mobile phones right now. Practical and affordable electric cars are coming, and direct-sales are coming, and I have a feeling it'll happen nearly simultaneously. Dealerships, both big and small, will have to figure out how to turn this change into profit. Tesla's Factory-to-Door model works for a low-prodcution model, but how does it, or how WOULD it scale to a production level like Ford? It's all fine and good to imagine buying a car online like a pair of shoes, but would that really work the way we think it would? I can see things going a couple ways, with more or less support from the manufacturers. But ultimately, one thing that WILL have to happen, is the death of the shady dealership. The common practices that make people FEAR dealerships will have to be thrown out. The "dealership" will no longer be able to continue operating as a neccessary evil.
  11. Hmm.. FFR Daytona Coupe with a Coyote motor, but full interior, sound deadening, etc for a comfortable street cruiser. Or a '65 Lincoln Continental hardtop. Black, bagged, and a modern V8 or TTV6 for better mileage. Basically making it a coast-to-coast cruiser. Must stop thinking about this stuff.. I need to hit the lottery. Then I can afford a business that loses money and I can make all these cars..
  12. Ooh.. a 2000GT with GT86 under-pinnings..
  13. I've always thought it'd be cool to take a mid 70s Celica (the ones that looked like the bastard offspring of a Camaro and Mustang) then drop in an EJ25, or if there's not enough width a 4G63, with about 400-500hp, beef up the suspension, and turn it into a stage rally/hill climb car. Or take a 240Z, put a modern interior in it, modern suspension under it, strip the bumpers, front air dam, rear spoiler, fender flares, fat tires, and a 2JZ under the hood. I'd like to do an Hyundai Genesis Coupe and Infiniti G37 Coupe "OEM+". They have nice lines and I think some small tweaks can make them really outstanding. So many ideas, and not enough money to do them since they'd likely not sell for the investment.. Formula 1000. EDIT: Oh, and there's also the Mevabusa
  14. I'll be in the same boat with the BRZ; solidly in SM and not at all competitive. But, to paraphrase the Joker: It's not about winning. It's about having a good time.
  15. Just think.. Inside all of that is a normal sized human skeleton.
  16. I'd have to say the S2000, NSX, and Integra Type-R (for what it was) didn't suck.
  17. Get stuffed! lol Happy Turkey Day!
  18. Not to mention that even if I do get it all on, I can't get a solid tune on it until the weather warms up.. That f'n RS screwed up so many plans this year. :fuuuu:
  19. Everything I planned to do to the BRZ before the 99 RS turned out to be apile of shit. Just got a set of STI brembos back from Wheel Medic. Full Exhaust. Upgraded radiator/oil cooler. Innovate twin-screw supercharger w/ 70mm pulley Flex Fuel kit and bigger port injectors Plus other bits and pieces... Worst part is that it's all sitting in my garage wating to go on....
  20. The silent pitstops will be odd..
