  1. I know when I had wheels done, I had to leave them there.
  2. Thanks. Very nice. Good to know I won't get an odd look if I ask them to work on some calipers. I found a set only 2 years old with 9k on them, they just have that blemish which looks repairable. I just hope the look I'm going for works out.
  3. Do we still have a member at Wheel medic? I'm picking up a set of calipers and one has some scarring. http://i.imgur.com/0PyDYz8.jpg I was thinking that smoothing this out might be something Wheel medic could do. I plan to repaint them anyways, but I was also curious if they would have caliper paint available too. Thanks.
  4. Isn't it over 8' wide? (I haven't watched the video and will later)
  5. Many halo cars are sold at a loss. The LFA, for instance. They're used to either draw more customers to the brand, or in the case of the Veyron, as a technical exercise.
  6. Just picked it up. I have nothing else to contribute otherwise.
  7. I'm pretty sure the total damage should be the same. The only difference is that instead of going from 20 to 0 in an instant, you're going from 0 to 20 in an instant. The same amount of energy is used/given up. While the train does have massively more energy than you, it's only going to lose as much needed to accelerate your body to a velocity that the total mass (train + you) would travel at with the available energy. This is all just at the moment of impact between two like bodies of disparate mass. After impact you get into materials. You running into the stationary train, you'll bounce off mostly. The train hitting you, you're likely going for a ride which may do more damage due to your construction.

It's a kit for EcuTEK. It can communicate the Ethanol content to the ECU and adjust the timing accordingly. You can get just the bit that test the fuel. I think it's made by Zeitronix (?). But adjusting the tune on your car would need to be done manually.
  9. Less expensive than the Weds I replaced, believe it or not. And only 2lbs heavier. Between the heavier tires and the lightweight flywheel/CF driveshaft the car still feels a bit better than stock.
  10. I'm debating some tie-in with the yellow on the wheels. I'm thinking of painting the DUNLOP on the sidewall yellow, and the calipers yellow. I think it'll have just enough "pop" to break up the all-black look. I'm still really not sure about those center caps.. I may go without.

Cool. I have one of those kits ready to go on with the blower. It must depend on how/where it's mixed. With such variation the suppliers/shippers must be doing their own mixing.
  12. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll be sure to look some of these up. As for my diet, I've found a method that works well for me that lets me have something bad now and then. I started with the Weight Watchers Online points system which helped me build eating routines that leave a calorie deficit without making me frustrated. I also started doing a couple 12+ mile bike rides each week with my GF, which has helped too. I'm down about 30lbs (two belt holes!) so far and hoping to lose another 20. I think the toughest part will be staying at my target weight without gaining or losing. I know how to eat to be 250lbs, but I don't know how to eat to be 200lbs.
  13. The GF and I are trying to eat better. I'd like to take her out to eat more often, but most places we go aren't exactly good places to find healthy food. So I was wondering if I could get some recommendations from the CR brain trust. Preferably someplace that's isn't too pretentious, but won't look at us weird if we don't buy the deep-fried specials. Take-out is a bonus too.. Thanks.
  14. Just took a closer look. They did that thing with the top of the side window that I *hate*. The Koenissegg (sp) and the GTR both do it, as does the Aston Martin Zagato. The cars have a rounded roofline, but they give the top of the side window a straight line. As if that doesn't clash enough, they then slope that line backwards which makes the windshield look huge and out of proportion. Not to mention that rearward sloping lines that start so far forward just look silly to me. So yeah, not my cuppa in the styling department either..
  15. Sorry! I keep forgetting about CR's Rules..
  16. I'll say though, 265s on a 200hp 2700lb car are crazy big. But once the blower goes on, they should be on the high side of "just right".
  17. Haz center caps. I'm not sure I like them though. I may paint them... Oh, Ambers were tinted, but the tint cracked off over the winter. Going to Nightshades them this time. Whole car needs cleaning. Spun a bearing in the RS so I had to use the BRZ for moving to the new apartment. It's dirty as hell. The RS is finally fixed ($ouch) so I can start putting more TLC back into the BRZ.

  19. I doubt many people know what gunpowder smells like. Likely this person smelled the sulfur of the bad battery then after the explosion said they smelled gunpowder. Because what else could possibly explode? :dumb: I'm just surprise there wasn't a report of an assault rifle weilding gunman fresh off a 24 hour GTA5 binge reinacting some scene from a Michael Bay movie using a recipe found on Myspace, peppered by interviews of his family saying he was perfectly normal the day before.
  20. Interesting, but I'd rather have a proven performer like the Cayman S or Exige.
  21. I belive there's a whole section on F5's forums for discussions on installing the Coyote engine in the roadster.
  22. If I had to choose one, and I couldn't sell it to buy others, and I had to live with it... http://www.diseno-art.com/news_content/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/2012-Aston-Martin-Vanquish-8.jpg Aston Martin Vanquish. Best all-arounder exotic, IMO. And drop-dead gorgeous. If I could have cars for toys, or multiples, then a Caterham 500R, Ferrari 45 Speciale, Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, Pagani Zonda Cinque, etc. But of them all I think Aston delivers the most complete package in what I want from a single car.
  23. Sounds really cool. CR winter track days?
  24. btw, The sales rep in the passenger seat looks like Donald Trump.
