  1. I'm not sure how easy/cost-effective it's going to be to make a better HPFP and direct injectors. I wouldn't be surprised if the aftermarket went with a new intake manifold with port injectors and a piggyback. The Toyota D4-S system is set up with both DI and PI and it is proving to be VERY boost friendly.
  2. Having a 20yr debt the size of a really nice car or small home hanging over their head doesn't help either.
  3. Very cool. People who don't know will think it's another camry or something. Those who do will do a double-take.
  4. I'm curious just how perceptable the differences between the Subaru and Audi AWD systems will be in the snow. With all the fancy computers controlling the S5's drivetrain, I'm surprised there isn't a Snow setting or something similar. I still want to hold off for another couple weeks on tires though. Looks like we're supposed to bounce back up into the 50s and 60s next week.
  5. my gf and I are both on summer tires.. I didn't want to switch until mid November. Hopefully this is just a fluke.
  6. It took nearly burying the whole foot of the second sled to stop it. The first one was actually accelerating! Crazy.
  7. Wonder how well they'd do at a modern tractor pull. Not as exciting, but I wonder if a well-built one could be stopped by just one sled.
  8. Don't get an old ambulance with 200K miles on it. Trust me. Just don't.
  9. The stability control is impressive. But I dunno... I think a Veyron would be a nicer place to be. ..not to mention it looks better than the Konnisseggiseggisegg... Same. It may not have the blazing top speed or insane HP of those two, but it still goes and handles like crazy and sitting in it is like being inside a high-end watch.
  10. Had a chance to "fully exercise" the S5 today. I am *very* impressed. It's one thing to make a car handle like that, and another to make a drivetrain that works that well. It's a whole other ball of wax to do both so well in a 3900lb car. I had a heavy German coupe, that admittedly is a good portion "luxury" despite its sport badging, in a full-on 4 wheel, full-throttle drift. Thoroughly impressed.
  11. First GM makes a Corvette I like, then Ford might be making a Mustang I like.. I'm so confused.
  12. Lots of camo out back... Wonder if the fastback is going to return. "Sportbacks" have been increasing in popularity lately..

    Genius.

    Sawmill RD Advance.
  14. That was likely me. The wheels are nice. I just think that if they had a Rota center cap instead of an Audi one, people would say they have no business being on the car; i.e. they just don't look "Audi-ish" to me. Hell, I think they'd look fantastic on a new Mustang. Too bad they won't bolt up.
  15. Gonna wait for next year to choose a summer set of wheels. In the interim I can try to sell the stock tires for a good price. If I do, it'll give me more flexibility in wheel/tire choice. Maybe 20s.... I think I'm going to keep the stock suspension, but I'll use spacers/aggressive offsets to get the wheels flush to minimize the gap. However, for now, I have an AWE Tuning Touring exhaust with resonated downpipes on the way:

    Genius.

11.99 for either the 1/4" or 3/8" drive. I know my store has them, not sure about others. Part#s are 482 for the 1/4" and 483 for the 3/8".

Every now and then you see something that just strikes you as a perfect example of genius. We just got these in at work: http://www.cal-vantools.com/p-5-90-degree-gearless-angle-drive38.aspx It uses multiple bent rods to create a 90 degree transmission. No gears. I can't stop playing with this thing.. It has got to be one of the coolest ideas I've seen in a long time.
  18. Saw two full carriers filled with C7s on the way back from the Renn fair this weekend.
  19. Gonna have to agree with you there. :gabe: I'm wondering if I should just store the stock wheels for when I trade/sell it in 4 years.
  20. Are the "rotors" super desireable? I do like the "peelers" more than the rotors, but I'm not sure they're quite what I want.
  21. From what I can find, they are in the 1K+ range.
