But the Vette has a better nameplate than Camaro. So the guy who can afford the high margin Camaro will jump to the low margin Vette. (This is assuming the high end Camaro has a higher margin than the low end Vette).

Well, this is just the base model, and it's picking up where the current Grand Sport currently is. So the model line as a whole is progressing. There's plenty of room for more power for the Z06 and a ZR1 if they continue that. I don't think pricing has been announced yet. GM has been talking about accessability and trying to get a younger market buying the Corvette. So I don't think the base model will be 60K. Likely this will be priced about the same as the current base model which is 45K. But then, this is GM we're talking about.... So they still could announce their "more accessible" base model at 60K. But I'm hoping not.

My renter's insurance is through Safeco and it's $189/yr.

My father loved green, especially the darker shades (Brewster Green is a family color that is nearly black, and he painted the front door of his house that color). Maybe I can find a used LRG C7 Z06 in 6 years or so that I can afford.

Some nice colors. Black, of course. But Night Race and Cyber Gray look great as well. But my father owned a 1967 Stingray convertible that was Goodwood Green with a white top and Saddle interior that he had to give up when I was born. So a Lime Rock Green one would have a special place in my heart.

Better than being heavier. As for the power, from what I got from the presentation this is the base model that will take up where the GrandSport left off. Then I'm sure there will be Z06 and possible ZR1 versions on top of it.

I LOVE love love the profile. I have never liked the looks of a Corvette as much as I like this one. I want one. I can't afford one. But I want one. I love the Stingray name since my father once owned a '67 427 Stingray. I'm not sold this deserves "Stingray" but we'll see.
