  1. Get your work done at SigmaTec. ZB is the man when it comes Subie repair. Tuning can be done by a numbe if people. There are a couple here on CR.
  2. Just a quick note.. google tailors search results based on past search and browser history. When I first wondered what OBX was I did indeed search it. My results were all about OBX parts at various shops and links to threads on Subaru forums about OBX differentials.
  3. I'm going to try and make it out for this. WTF is OBX? I see the stickers everywhere but noone I've asked has been able to give me a straight answer.
  4. All anyone needs to do is look at Clay's trucks and it becomes obvious that his mind does not work along usual CR lines of thought.
  5. Those weren't on his list. He'll probably include them in the next thread he starts. :lolguy:
  6. The Ferrari The Ferrari is pretty cool, but I'd rather rock that new Lambo.
  7. You appear to have forgotten to factor in the smiles. But really, for a family-friendly and fun car, I think the CTS-V is the only choice from those three.
  8. I need to run some questions by the US tuner who's working on the kit once he's no longer under a NDA. But depending on availability, this could be a pretty quick turnaround. Because the owner of FP essentially took a big shit on the Subaru community in a post on the Evo forums. I understand if someone doesn't like some of their customers, I think everyone that works at this level has customers they don't like. But you don't go on a public forum and ridicule a significant portion of your customer base. He really showed his true colors in that discussion and so I refuse to give him any of my money or use any of his parts on my car. I'd feel the same way if I drove an Evo too. It should be pretty fun. I'm trying to maintain the feel of the original car with quick response and excellent communication to the driver. So I don't think a turbo's nature lends itself well to this.
  9. A few reasons. Better low end which is good for AutoX. I don't really like the tight bends the Vortec kit uses. Also I think the Vortec's A2A system is vented to atmosphere which seems like it would be detrimental to transitional response, but I'll have to look at it again to be sure. And frankly, the twin screw just looks cooler. I'm always happy to give rides. As for reliability, I was worried at first, but seeing how those 500+hp builds are doing on the stock internals has improved my confidence in this engine. The Stage 2 version uses an A2W intercooler. It's mounted under the charger and vents into the runners. You can see the cooling lines in the teaser vid. The picture is of the Stage 1 version. As for the blow-by, an air/oil seperator is on my list.
  10. FP can go eat a bag of dicks and die. Besides, I don't want a turbo on this. No matter how good they are, a turbo never has the transitional response of NA. A supercharger comes close, with a twin-screw like the above having the best respose of the FI options.
  11. A 2.0L twin? Isn't there some law of physics against running a SC that's as big or bigger than the original engine's displacement? lol. I don't think there will be much demand for big blowers. I think most people looking for big power on this car will go turbo and work around the loss of transitional response. Though it does make me wonder if the 335 is a direct swap for the 210 that comes with the kit....
  12. It's not available yet... And neither is the header I want to get...
  13. but then.. Tease video: In-car (ish): It's not going to make huge numbers, but it should have instant response and a table-top torque curve. So not "Mega-BRZ" but more like BRZ+ (or as some would say, "BRZ [FIXED]".) There's no official numbers yet (saving them for some announcement in a couple weeks) but it's looking like an additional 60hp or so on an otherwise stock car. I'm thinking 300+ crank hp is possible with a good set of headers if I'm lucky, E85 should put it over the top if not. And it sounds f'n cool. I'm very tempted...
  14. I'm making an appearance in this thread without actually saying anything, since it's pretty clear what I would write here.
  15. Yup. And I know I'll get flamed for this, but even the Viper V10 is a little on the "Meh" side. Dunno, it just seems like they aren't worth the trouble..
  16. Makes you wonder why companies keep trying to make V10s. It always seems like they never quite measure up to expectations. V12s? V8s? No problem. V10s? always "meh"
  17. I wonder if that's the same S8 that came in to work a while ago. He had a CEL so I read the code and it was for a downstream O2. I told him he'd probably have a hard time doing it himself (because S8) but offered to at least look up the cost of one. How hard can it be? Holy fuck. It's a v10 with, I think, 6 or 8 O2 sensors. I couldn't be sure since the O2 sensors were for certain cylinder groupings and I didn't even have a complete listing of the cylinders among all the O2s I listed. The chance of finding the right one on the first try was about nil, so I told him to just go to a shop rather than start shotgunning parts at the car. Definitely a cool car, but I wouldn't want to work on one.
  18. Every car I've owned gets modded in some way. It's a way to make the car more "mine". The BRZ is my current DD and it's got higher rate springs, aftermarket upper strut mounts for more camber/caster, crash bolts, rear poly camber bushings, better wheels/tires, plus some various look-good mods too.

  20. Dammit, I wish I could remember his name, but there's a guy that comes out to Cars and Coffee with a green Boss 302 that hydrodips. He's dipped almost every trim piece he can pry loose from that car.
  21. I always wanted to get another 67 Stingray for my father. But I was never able to afford one.
  22. Sounds about right. And I'll probably be just as disappointed by its lack of improvement as I was with GT5. I'll likely wait until Forza 5 for the next XBox as well.
  23. My PS3 is a BluRay player and a Gran Turismo player. I really don't use it for anything else. And I don't see PS4 being much different. I doubt movies will require the high density BR disks in the near future since it would obsolete regular players and not just the PS3, so really I'll be waiting until GT6 comes out before picking up a PS4.
