    Depression

Get out more. Sunlight and fresh air help. Also, be aware of your thoughts. Catch yourself when you get into a harmful thought pattern and force yourself to think of something beneficial and happier. It's difficult at first, but it always is when trying to change a behavior. The more you do it, the less you'll find yourself having to do it. Your brain is essentially in a chemical addiction to your moods. You have to break yourself of that. Focus on the good. Acknowledge the bad, but focus on the good.

  3. Makes me wonder just how "stock" they are...
  4. Ok, so there are "stock" classes. I see.
  5. 8s out of the box? Wow. Though I'm curious about something. What's the point to this? If it's to get a chassis pre-setup and built for drag racing, why drop a big expensive engine into it? But if it's to get a really fast car, that's cool, but I don't think there are national Stock classes in Drag Racing, and you don't need to do 8s for bracket racing. If you want a platform to start from, it seems to me that to get from 8s to 7s or even 6s the engine would need to be practically rebuilt, making it a waste. Wouldn't it be cheaper to build a 7 or 6 second car from scratch than to pitch most of the engine on an 80K+ car? What is the goal of a purpose-built, title-less, 8sec drag car? It's an impressive feat. But I think I'm missing something here.
  6. Didn't see any excuses. I'll stick with RCE, thanks.
  7. RaceComp Engineering springs. They actually pay attention to things like suspension geometry and proper corner rates. They even put the stock dampers on a shock dyno to properly match the springs to them. The new ones will be 250 lb/in F/R which actually puts them at nearly 65% critically damped, as the car is a little overdamped from the factory (probably for this reason). The kit even comes with shortened bumpstops. No, if I were just getting drop springs, I'd slap on a set of Tein POS-Tech springs and ride on my bumpstops all day. It's ~1K for the suspension package I want (Springs, upper mounts, front crash bolts, and rear camber kit), or $2.5K for coils... Since I have no intention of competing for points with this car, I think the extra 1.5K will better go to the rest of the car.
  8. Yeah, I'm just curious at this point. I'm trying to see them in a different light. I think the 17" wheels already look good on the small car, but they'll probably look a lot better once I lower it. The roofline is already just about two wheel-heights tall, dropping the car an inch will put it below which should make it look even better.
  9. It must be a taste thing, because I'm having trouble seeing what the issue is with these wheels. If someone were to say "I really don't like the Volks on your STI", I could see where they're coming from; the wheels on my STI have some very unflattering angles. But I think these Weds looks really good, and are much better than stock. Other than fitments that are more for show, or wheel designs that I just don't like, I'm not sure how these could be much improved. I think it's a form vs function thing. I just land a bit more towards the function side of the equation.
  10. They're actually called Boss Noodles?? That's just awesome.
  11. Gotta keep room for the BFG All Terrain T/As for winter.
  12. Oh I forgot to mention: Dat NSX :megusta:
  13. What did they use for your $60K beetle? :gabe:
  14. Already done. 2011 was the last year with dirt. Thankfully, the 10minute barrier was broken while there was still dirt. But there wasn't a whole lot of dirt left though..

  16. I didn't realize the course was 37 miles. That's more than three times the length of the Nurburgring. Wow.
  17. What a perfectly shaped corner..
  18. Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
  19. I'm not sure it's fearlessness or bravery. I think to do something like this, they have to eliminate from their minds any concept of their own mortality. You can't know you might die and go these speeds on these roads. Every one of them is an immortal in their mind. The Isle of Man TT is essentially God saying to these bikers: "I find you worthy, and I give unto you this paradise. For this paradise is an arena. An arena for you to prove yourselves in my eye so that I may see who among you are the best."
  20. The last report is that it does have the AP exhaust post-turbo. But it still has the stock manifold and primary cat. Again, they're interested in developing just the kit at the moment.
  21. Not at all. I knew about the sound pipes before I found out the BRZ had one. I thought they were an interesting solution to a problem I've had with new cars. Most new cars are difficult to drive stick because you can't hear the engine. I thought this was a neat idea. Granted, the electronic ones are a little corny, IMO. I prefer the tubes because you're at least hearing the actual engine, not a recording or modulated plug noise.
  22. Video of a dyno pull: They're sticking with a mid-270hp tune for 93 pump gas. But they had it as high as 10psi without knock. Final numbers: 278whp 251wtq. Crank HP is around 345hp. http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m489/Donaldsummerton/2012-08-07_23-05-12_866.jpg They will be doing street driveability tweaks from this point. Apparently, they are easing into the boost to keep driveline shock to a minimum or they could come into the power even quicker. Good stuff.
