  1. I need some custom Hubcentric rings made. I have a set to get measurements for the hub/wheel sides. But I want a set made that can retain a center cap. I don't know if milling rings takes anything special. So if anyone wants to tackle this, or knows of a shop that might, I'd appreciate it.
  2. Well, noone gives a fuck, but I'll be there with the "BEEARRZED" since the STI is close to showing cords on the fronts.
  3. Mustang has it to, so does the FR-S/BRZ. It's the new thing. It gives a "sporty" car a better voice in the cabin since exhausts have become so quiet. Cars were getting dinged in reviews for not having a good sound inside, so, manufacturers started bringing noise inside. I've also been told that a lot of European car companies are doing it because some countries out there are cracking down on loud exhaust. So the sound generators give the driver the sound they're looking for without having to buy a louder exhaust.
  4. lol. In case it wasn't obvious, he's a little biased. He wasn't chosen for one of the First86 cars, and was denied when he asked to be in the press launch event. So he's a bit butthurt. He even quotes prices earlier in the article and then later says the Genesis R-Spec costs less. So take it with a grain of salt. Bad reviews for any car are a given, but some are just plain trolling.
  5. The WRX has ~ 70/30 water/coolant with Water Wetter.
  6. More than likely soon. I don't see them staying away from a drag strip for long when they have a car with a newly boosted engine in their hands. The first customer unit is getting tuned today. It's an automatic car too. Brave soul.

  8. Thanks, but I don't take it personally. There are many hated cars on CR and this is one of them. It doesn't help that during a HP war between manufacturers it shows up with only 200hp under the hood. Some people just don't get it. I don't get "Hella-flush" and stretched tires. *shrug* But I think this kit and the results are pretty cool to watch, even if I don't plan to go FI during the warranty period. This is just the over-the-counter turbo kit. Don's having an engine built and plans to blow up the transmission with 28psi of boost. It's going to be interesting to watch where the block begins to limit things. The block has an open deck which usually isn't a good thing, but the cylinder walls are thicker than usual for an open deck Subaru motor. So a deck brace might work pretty well. We'll see when Don starts to push the limits.

  10. $5K price for the list of parts earlier in the thread, plus labor and a tune. You can tack another $600 on if you want a ECUTek cable to be able to backup/flash/unflash your ECU yourself afterwards. So total should be around $6K or so. Last update I can see in the thread: The 281whp pull was at 8psi. Don believes with a freer flowing exhaust 300whp is possible on the stock engine/injectors using pump gas. They haven't touched alcohol yet.
  11. Last update is 281hp 220tq. There's some uncertainty if they're still at 6psi or if they're up at 8psi. According to Don, this is purely development of the "stock" turbo kit. The cold-air version of the intake and other exhaust mods are not on the car. So there may well be more hp to be found. And this is with a 100% stock engine and fuel system. Just the kit and a tune.
  12. I think because AP hasn't made a header yet. They're developing the tune to go with the kit. Also, from what I'm told, the stock cat is actually not as bad as some.. There have been a couple EJ swaps, a few 2JZ swaps, and one swap of the V8 from the IS-F. In a straight line, yes. Regardless, it's cool seeing what AP is doing in unknown territory. It's a brand new block, with a fueling system unlike any other, with a unique ECU running it all.
  13. Stock 4-2-Cat equal-length manifold. Just the kit above and a custom tune. No new updates currently.
  14. A BRZ with 1/4 tank of gas weighed in at 2715 on corner-weighting scales. So it's a pretty accurate measure. Mustang 5.0 is ~3600lbs, maybe a little less.
  15. Time to go out, I'll post any other updates later.
  16. They're working with what they've got. But a 110hp bump in a car on the lighter side is a pretty big kick in the butt. Again, this gives the car 8.73 lb/hp which is roughly a 2012 Mustang 5.0. That in a package that handles like a dream.. Jamie's BRZ will be getting 10.5:1 comp pistons and a bigger turbo. AP putting together a pretty good package here. It'd make a kickass TT car if that's the direction he's going.
  17. last run vs baseline: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=12051&d=1344295374
  18. Turbo and tune. Pretty respectable gains from just 6psi on a 2.0L 12.5:1 comp engine, in my opinion. They're actually working on the car right now and posting updates to FT86Club.
  19. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=12034&d=1344292803 Just 6psi on this run, a gain of around 100hp and 80tq from baseline. This puts it at roughly the same power/weight ratio as a 2012 Mustang 5.0. I'm trying to get confirmation, but I believe that is on stock internals and pump gas. Not sure about the longevity of course, but I don't think AP and Visconti are done yet. Don said his goal was 8psi with pump gas and more with corn. These guys do good work. :fuckyeah: EDIT: another note, there's only a ghost of the torque dip now too.
  20. Naw, we're too full of ourselves to let that bother us. :lolguy:
