  1. Well it seems "Dave" in sales jumped the gun. The dealership got the invoice and MSO but he didn't check to see if it was actually on the lot. So still waiting.
  2. They're still working on the master cylinders, sway bar links, hatch mechanism, and air bags. :lolguy:
  3. OZ Alleggeritas are very light also. Not sure if they're available in the lug pattern/size you want.
  4. Makes me wonder where it is then. I'll find out at 9 when they open.
  5. Trolling? Naw. Using a Chipotle wrapper for a repair is pure MacGuyver win!
  6. Then goodbye BRZ and hello built Miata.
  7. Well, did the stalker routine. No BRZ on the lot, in the showroom, or in Service. So either one of the sales guys took it home (hopefully Chad) or there's a miscommunication somewhere. I'll call them first thing and see what's going on. There's no more money to get from me. I have it in writing that I'm paying MSRP. And if they do try to screw me, there's a lot of local Subaru owners and buyers who will hear about it. But I trust Chad. He's active in the local Subaru community and has made a lot of money because of it, and I don't think he would jeopardize that over one car.
  8. Subaru changed the WRX from the new 2008my to 2009my drastically due to buyer backlash about the handling. So they have acted quickly in the past. But likely there will be updates. I don't mind. By the time I'm ready to trade the BRZ, there will be a better version available. Or maybe even something better from another manufacturer. EDIT: Honet Triple ftw.
  9. Just got an interesting PM on FT86Club. Seems the 2nd guy on the wait list at Byers was called and told they had just got in their first BRZ. They didn't call me and that BRZ should be mine. :fuuuu: Going to call them tomorrow and see what's up. Or I might do the stalker thing and drive through their lot tonight... :masturboy:
  10. Well, since it's impossible to put an objective measurement on a subjective aspect, it's tough to prove that. However, here are the facts: It has a lower CG than most any car out there. This is good for just about anything you want to do with the car. The weight is kept inside the wheelbase as much as possible which helps it's responsiveness. The suspension is firm and allows for neutral handling or controlled oversteer. Steering is quick and communicative as has been reported by nearly every review. The wheel and shifter are in positions that are comfortable and intuitive. Throttle response is good and pedal position is excellent for heel-toe. That adds up to an enjoyable drive, IMO. The only thing it lacks is the ability to crush your organs against your spine. Here's a review by someone who is not paid by a magazine and is coming from an Exige S. He has every reason to find this car disappointing. And granted, he does in the areas you'd expect coming from an Exige. But he still enjoyed it.
  11. The article says average. I've seen skid pad numbers as high as 0.96 for this car. And keep in mind this is on the stock 215-wide Michelin Primacy HP tires which are low-rolling resistance summer touring tires. Essentially, performance tires for a Prius or economy tires for a Porsche. I believe the STI has a skid pad rating of 0.86 on RE070s.
  12. I believe it also beat a Corvette too. :lolguy: Some Sonics left the factory without brake pads. And the Sonic at work is currently in the shop for the second time since we got it new in Nov. There's been a recall on the Air bag already, and the Brake Master Cylinder has faulty internal seals, and the sway bar links are disintegrating. Both of which are known problems. The BMC has to be overnighted from Chevy and the links are backordered until they can find someone who can make them last more than a few months. The rear hatch will also permanently lock open if you hit the release twice while the hatch is open. But hey, it's faster in a single test some magazine did, so it must be a better car, right?
  13. Motor Trend: 0-60: 6.4 1/4mi: 14.9 Skid Pad: 0.90 Figure 8: 26.2 sec @ 0.68 g
  14. The Megane Trophy, a track-day hot hatch. The article was done by Evo magazine. Who, in the next breath, write an article saying that the FR-S (manual, vs the auto BRZ they tested) is much better than the BRZ. Other than the transmission which they seem to overlook the only difference between the two is slightly higher rear spring rates. :dumb: They're trying to backpedal their initial BRZ article. So their credibility has taken a bit of a blow.
  15. You're asking for objective data on a subjective aspect of the car? :lolguy:
  16. BRZs have been delivered in northern IN and in MI. Mine is literally days away. Can't wait! I already have a shift knob and a plate bracket on the way. Tint/clear bra will follow shortly with rims/tires as well. Then the modding will begin once the parts start hitting the market.
  17. Vivid Racing. :fuuuu: Hope you get your order some time this year. I believe Vivid is the only vendor ever to be banned from Nasioc. Turn In Concepts.com is the place to go. They're in OH too.
  18. It always puts my teeth on edge when the narrator has no idea what he/she is talking about. "Now they will bolt in the rear transmission. This will convert the car to 4 wheel drive." Nice to know all it takes is a "rear transmission" to convert a car to 4 wheel drive. "The seats are individual safety cells made of carbon fiber, a nearly indestructible material." Indestructible... right.. "The car is now ready for the fiberglass rear bumper." Fiberglass? really? And then she gets dampers right. "They use double-sided tape to attach the rear windows to the car." Looks like a window ribbon to me. Good video, but like a lot of those How it's Made segements, the narrator doesn't seem to understand what's going on and the video editor and script writer don't talk to each other.
  19. I'll probably be there. I'll have to leave early for work though. Should be a nice day. High 60s during C&C with it getting into the 80s for the AutoXers. Wish I could go to the AutoX
  20. God.. I wish people would stop reposting posts regarding reposts of other posts. The posts reposting "repost" are out of hand!
  21. Use google translate and read the comments and description.
  22. If it's lifted, they may not allow you to enter due to a rollover risk. But considering you said you dag race it, I'll assume it's not or possibly lowered. There's definitely a class for it. You'll probably end up in a modified class. But if you're not racing for points it really doesn't matter what class you're in. The clock runs the same for every class when it comes to raw times. If you're thinking of doing the class in the morning, do so. It's a great way to get a feel for the car. Also you don't have to worry about classing for the morning training and the instructors will be able to help you choose your class for the afternoon.
  23. Is it a full points event in the afternoon, or a limited one with just the 40 seats?
  24. Draco-REX

    Diablo 3

Yup. Though I might not get to it for a day or two. But I enjoyed the previous two, so I'm looking forward to this one.
