  1. I like Steven. Steven or Fred.
  2. Agreed, that is a solid test.
  3. This is relevant to my interests.
  4. I have around 80 of these things too, all 1:18 scale or bigger. I've got no interest in selling but would like an idea on value at least.
  5. Went by Rob's last night and he thinks it's just missing hard. I'm going to go replace plugs, wires, cap, rotor here in about 15 minutes so I'll know for sure, but I'm feeling like it's probably not a transmission issue.
  6. Might still be if it's in good shape. Replacement stuff is getting hard to find. Front or rear? If I bring it by there after work can you feel what it's doing for me? I'm interested in what you think, I don't think it's a miss at all anymore....
  7. So, I called the insurance guy this afternoon just to make them aware of the problem, and he told me just to take it somewhere and if it was determined to be caused from the accident they would cover it. So I guess that's what I'll do... The next issue I'm sure will be having to drop the transmission to even determine anything, and how that will be resolved. Such shit. The insurance company is "western reserve" if that means anything to anybody.
  8. My grandparents have in the past used the cable box all-in-one remote for everything, and they press the "all off" button when they're done watching television. Well, this only turns off the cable box, because their tv doesn't talk to the remote. They think the tv is off as well because there is no picture on it, but it's just because the cable box is off.... Needless to say, the tv creates a building buzz sound when it's on like this with no input, until I come over and turn it off. Not saying you're a retard, but maybe .
  9. Thanks for the replies, but please keep them coming. I'm stuck between feeling like I'm entitled to compensation, but not wanting to contribute to already rampant insurance fraud.... if that makes any sense.
  10. Hopefully my novel doesn't deter everybody, I didn't realize it was that bad...
  11. Last wednesday around 4:30 I was going down 70E, trying get off on 33. Anybody from the east side knows how that lane basically stops around rush hour. Well I was in the truck, either barely moving or stopped, and a Corolla hit the Saturn Vue behind me HARD, and then the Saturn hit me. I was in the Dakota, and it was a pretty solid hit, but it only did a little bit of visible damage to the bumper and tailgate. I swapped insurance info with the two other parties, and a police report was filed, blah blah blah. Thursday the corolla's insurance calls me, as they've been cited, and says go get an estimate for the damage, fax it over, and they'll send a check. I did that, and it totalled to just over $900 in bodywork. If that's what I end up getting, I have no intention of using it for bodywork, but instead fixing a minor oil leak, and replacing the power steering pump. I just want the damn thing to keep running for me, as I need it all winter. Last night though, on Polaris parkway it started something odd. When stopped or just barely crawling along, there is an obvious and constant ( although not patterned, somewhat random ) "hit" or knock. I can't tell if it's just a miss, or if it's the transmission giving a kick. It ONLY does it when in gear, and it does it both hot and cold. My thought was first that it's a transmission issue, but it could I guess be a miss too as there's likely enough load from being in gear to cause it... I have no idea, and I don't really feel like being rear-ended could directly cause a transmission problem, but the things got a ton of miles on it and it's been just fine up to this point. I would almost feel dirty trying to get insurance to deal with it, but really it's odd timing the way the little issue coincides with the accident. I'm second guessing whether I should cash the check ( which closes the claim ), or bring it up with them. Any opinions? I'm not sure what to do, but I know I can't afford to replace a transmission right now.
  12. I like the suburban idea. My parents have a 2003 suburban with the 5.3 and tow package, and it has been rock solid for 140k+ miles now. It has towed a 30-foot travel trailer right at max towing capacity without issue since they bought it new, at least a couple dozen trips a year. It recently went to Canada and back at what we learned was actually about 500 pounds over max capacity when weighing in at the border. You can fit a ton of stuff in it too with the 3rd row seat out, and it's needed nothing other than normal maintenance.
  13. I test drove a car with a friend just across the river from cincinnati and saw a guy hauling 2 horses in the back of a truck like that. We had parked the car at a rest stop to look it over without the salesmen, and a cop pulled the truck over into the parking lot we were in.
  14. Hello, This thread has allowed me to determine that you cannot buy: - class - taste - intelligence Good day sir.
  15. I've been pleased with my Polk 6.5 components, and I have an installer friend who was also pretty impressed. I've always bought through sonicelectronix.com, and they were very reasonable on there. I agree with the other suggestions given already too, just figured I'd mention Polk.
  16. Oh I can assure you that even once it's in OSU's hands, it will continue to be a waste of $96.
  17. I had a similar encounter with this same college avenue parking garage. They wanted me to fill out some form when I realized I didn't have my wallet. They actually asked me for my buck id or drivers license ( i had no wallet ), this is when I decided they were retards. I told them I would just park my truck back where it was, then walk to my house and get my wallet and come back and leave with the truck then. They said no just fill out this form. I said no, and he told me I had to. I was like, really buddy? At this point there were a couple cars behind me, and I told the guy to have them go through the other booth so I could back up. He refused. I told him I wasn't going to fill out his form, and that I wanted to park my truck back where it was, and then go get my wallet. Again, he refused. He got on the radio with some higher power, bitching about me, while soon enough the people behind me got sick of waiting on their own and switched lanes. I backed up, re-parked, and walked to my house to get my wallet, and my roommate dropped me off to get the truck out. I swear Traffic and Parking is one of the sole reasons OSU will be getting no money from me after I graduate, I have had far too many dumbass encounters with them.
  18. We used this stuff under the battery tray on my car, where some light surface rust had begun. You might already know that.... That said, the POR-15 company makes a variety of products actually, all a rust-stopper/preventative, but each geared towards specific uses or areas on a vehicle. I'd call them and let them tell you which of their products work best for an underbody coating. I can tell you the stuff is not at all cheap, and that on the can it says minimal surface prep is suggested, as it prefers some "bite" on the surface for adhesion. If I recall, it says for surface rust a wire brushing is all that's necessary. I have a partial can at home that I'll check if I remember.
  19. Very cool, what wheel setup are you looking at? Same ride height?
  20. This place is awesome, and it's easy to find. I've eaten there quite a few times. http://www.millstonebbq.com/
