I know when my dad has done this in the past he plans on a day that he and a few buddies/neighbors can also use it, then they all split the one-day cost. Just an idea. We've always used a place in Lancaster though, probably further than is practical from Gahanna.

Keep it up, cupcake. See if you ever get your $100

I did a bit more than just putting on some ground effects. I picked out the parts from all models and generations of Stealth/3000gt that I liked most, including some that aren't meant to be interchangeable, and made them fit. Some parts, like the sail panels, aren't actually supposed to replaceable or removable, so that was interesting. Same deal with the sideskirts, I had to remove some welded-on panels that are Stealth specific to make the 3000gt skirts bolt up. After all was said and done though, I have factory parts fitting with factory fitment quality on the car. And yes, it all needed painted, that was the only part I didn't do myself. I kind like that fact that nobody can really notice all the details that were changed, that must mean I did it right .

Interesting combo you're planning indeed. For those wondering, from the tubing visible in the pictures, I'd say he is most def planning a front clip fab/rwd conversion. Oddly there was a guy on the 3000gt/Stealth forum who did something very similar. He badged the car as a VR440 lol. It is indeed sick. Edit: found the guys cardomain page, apparently it's supercharged too. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3134282 There are more/better pictures out there somewhere, it's late though.

There are a surprising amount of people in this thread that are right in this area. We should all clean up the cars real nice, park them all right together and bait them in, while hiding in the bushes....or something. Sounded like a better idea in my mind.

Yea I don't know what I'd run for sure, but my car is pretty much the lightest DOHC model available. No sunroof, manual seats, manual transmission, no electronic suspension. The car was between 3300 and 3400lbs from the factory, and I've pulled around 100lbs since then. Sadly I work tomorrow for the track day, so it will remain a mystery for now.

Firstly, a 16.7 is a TERRIBLE time for a TT Stealth, guy must have been more than simply a "doucher" - maybe a true retard. As for the barn find Stealth, that is an amazing deal, especially with ECU capacitors as the only issue. I know of a guy on the board for these cars who found a neglected TT Stealth that he had seen sitting a parking lot for months and months, and went through all the process of acquiring the title for the car and "rescuing" it. With as many of these cars that are parted out daily, they're becoming somewhat rare. Between that and H.S. kids being able to afford them now, and then promptly wrecking them or blowing them up.... And Clay, as for tinting the sidemarkers, I've strongly considered it as they do stick out a bit much. Instead of tinting the amber lense though, I'd likely replace it with a clear lense then tint that. Oddly they don't offer a clear lense in the U.S., however. Most guys end up fabbing their own by heating sheets of ceiling-mount flourescent lense material and sealing it the stock frame. It's pretty janky unfortunately, but I guess it can be done well. Thanks for the compliments though everybody! You should all come to the next Cars and Coffee meet May 2nd!!

Wait what? This shall not go unnoticed.

Here's the deal, it's sunny lately and the sun is affecting/confusing one of the beams. If it works when you hold the button on the wall down that's likely what's causing it - happens with my parents garage all the time. If you rig up a little shade on the sunny side of the beam it should fix your problem..... ....unless this is happening at night, in the dark, then you're just screwed .

Thanks guys!! And Jeff, I'll likely get with you about FWD motor/tranny setups when I graduate, I've got about a year left. Right now I'm perfectly happy with my NA 3.0, it's only got 77k original on it w/ an intake and full exhaust.

Damn man, I've seen your car around campus more than a few times, and I sometimes see it parked on Lane. You're usually parked less than a block or two from my house!! I've left my car parked behind our house overnight a total of 3 times ever, and even then I have my roommates park right up against my doors! I guess having your own lot is slightly better than the street, but probably not much. Either way that sucks, bud. Kind of a wake-up call for me though, as I was starting to let my guard down. My stereo equipment is all hidden in factory locations, but my headunit is always visible, even without the faceplate. I've got no alarm either . That trunk damage is NASTY.

If you just want me to blur it out so you can't read it that's really easy to do in like 5 seconds. It you want to upload a different picture with no plate on at all I can redo it with that one really easy too...

Instant smile, maybe even a laugh or two. I can't get enough .

Thanks guys! It's spent a lot of time in the garage since I bought it, so now it's time to go drive and enjoy it. And wnaplay, it's at least 2 inches lower than stock, on coilovers. Right now it's got 275 tires all around and handles amazingly, but I have to run a 10mm spacer to make all the meat clear the coils. They sit outside the fender about a half inch, so "tucking" them isn't possible. They rub now occassionally even going into steep driveways and stuff. If I was to go with a 255 tire I might avoid the spacer and drop it just slightly more, maybe down the road....
-
Maybe one day, although to keep it unique, I might instead go with a 3.5 motor + spray .
-
Wow, Zack, thanks for the kind words you douche . 3 posts....wow.
-
Thanks man. It was definitely downright ugly when I bought it, but it was a good deal and too low-mileage to pass up. All the body mods are actually factory parts that I picked from other generations of 3000gt and Stealth models, then made them fit the car. It really is one of a kind .

I could be wrong, but I don't believe he's a CR member. The thing was PERFECT though, a beautiful car.

Soooooooo, I finally got around to going through some pictures I've taken over the past couple weeks of decent weather. They're all taken with a Nikon D70, and I believe all using a Nikkor 24-120 lense ( the older one, non VR ). I'm no professional, as the pros on here will surely notice, but I'm learning.... Also, I tried a few new processing techniques on a few of these, and on some I may have gone a bit overboard. Overall I like the way they turned out, but any tips or critique are welcomed. Just for reference, here's what the car looked like when I first got it about 2 years ago. I'm sure you'll agree it's come a long way . http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/DSC_0091.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/DSC_0092.jpg And now here are the new pictures: http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/Stealth%202009/DSC_0155PP.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/Stealth%202009/DSC_0164PP.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/Stealth%202009/DSC_0166PP.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/Stealth%202009/DSC_0181PP.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/Stealth%202009/DSC_0186PP.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/Stealth%202009/DSC_0188PP.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/Stealth%202009/DSC_0194PP.jpg Just figured I'd share, hopefully you like them.

I figured I'd add my own pics as well.
