  1. oh and if youre only looking at diesels be careful of the 200-2004/5 duramax diesels, apparently they had some injector issues, which costs upwards of $5000 to get fixed, out of warranty of course.

Have no idea why swapping out injectors would be so expensive but thats just what Ive read.

04.5 duramax is fine, it's the lly

  2. I'm not a nut hugger to any brand truck, and could careless which one I own. I was in the same shoes, wanted a diesel to tow with and didn't know much. After a lot of reading I came to the conclusion a duramax would be my best bet for all around reliability.

I have a LLY duramax dually, I bought it a little over a year ago with 100k miles, it now has 132k miles. It gets regular oil changes, and fuel filters. Just had the trans fluid swapped. No issues out of the truck, other than a pulley and belt. It's a huge dually and gets 22mpg highway if I stay within 5 mph above the speed limit. Great trucks

Cummins motor is good, but everything else sucks. Suspension, transmission..

  3. You're definitely not wrong, there's just no other car I could imagine looking better with a surfboard strapped to the roof.

In that vein, I was watching Point Break last night (because my life is a bouquet of fulfilling activities) and thought the Anthony Keidis gang's truck might be perfect for you. Maybe you can talk this guy to $10k

    :megusta:

    Now that is neat!

  4. CTS-V

I actually picked mine up for about this in your back yard :) The guy LOVES them, and looks all over the country for them to sell on his lot-and he is willing to deal :)

I just want something odd I can take to my beach place and other small trips that are only a few hours away. CTSV I would want modded to the gills

  5. I had her post this link last night. Buy this.

You won't find a better deal, seriously.

I actually hate F-bodys. Someone in my development has a ZL1 and a F-body, both are extremely loud and wake me up almost every morning.

  6. He said something odd, not something you can see on any random street.

Yes the firehawks rare but the average person wont know the difference betweeen a formula a ta and a firehawk

    What about a 90's 300zxtt?

Way too unreliable for my liking, and that's saying something.

I found a old 50s G wagon, and a older Benz TD station wagon... tried contacting both owners yesterday, waiting to hear back.

    That's pretty cool!

I have a 3500 dually at home, not sure about two trucks.

    Some decent suggestions, thanks

Once again this is something I will just take little road trips in and never drive other then that.

  8. Bring A Trailer often has old, good condition (but not mint), odd cars, some convertibles, that would be fun for runs to the beach and which are in the 5-10k range. 60's Saab wagons, triumph roadsters, VW The Thing, Bronco's, El Camino's all come to mind.

I troll that site daily but stuff sells quickly

  9. Figured I would turn here, as some of you will offer some good ideas.

I'm looking to only spend 10k so this might be a hard one, looking for a cheap car 10k or under. I travel to the beach alot this time of year, and looking for something fun or odd to take little road trips in. Old old jags have my attention, but I've been down the British road a few times..........

Hit me with some suggestions! Literally open to anything unique
