Arias forged. 10.60:1 compression http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj294/pontiacfreak142/DSC02353.jpg will be getting this all put together next saturday.just got my hands on a piston ring file, so ill be dealing with that through out the week lol.

  4. and thats kinda what i thought to, but wasnt sure. my buddy said he found a kit for $400 that would make it hold up. yea im not overly concerned about having OD, it would just be cool so i could drive it around a little more. although i really do prefer to have a trans brake over OD any day though lol.
  5. A buddy text me the other day and said that he had found an adapter kit for my 4L60E to work with a SBC. For those that dont know, i also have a turbo 400 trans that is about to go to the shop to find out for sure if it is built like ive been told. assuming it is already built, ive been debating on which to go with. Pros of using 4L60: smaller more efficient trans, would still have OD. cons: would need to have work done (ive quoted at about 400 for a rebuild kit with stronger components and 300 for labor), adapter kit is 600 bucks pros of using TH400: possibly already built, would bolt right up, can use trans brake (which i really want) cons: bigger less efficient, no OD, not sure if same size as 4L, so may need new drive shaft. which would you choose?

  11. As a few people have kinda said already, even with a 9 second car, no you wont have to tear it down every time you take it out, but its gonna be expensive over time. Hell i see 10/11 second cars blow all the time. so be prepared
  12. personally, i would fix the motor, put a small cam in with full bolt on so you have a fun street car that still gets decent mileage and will be fun, the dump the rest of the cash in the race car.
  13. this is kinda my thought. would be cool, but hell a track pack 3.8 car is already in the price range of a SS or GT. Not to mention i have to say im kinda dissapointed in the performance of even the 3.8 cars. Every test ive seen pretty much has a track pack V6 mustang spanking its ass and the V6 camaro right with it (14.2 for the genesis and 14.3 for camaro and handling specs not much different). Even now the Camaro is getting a new like 330 hp V6 and by 2013-14 will be going on a diet. So if they want the V8 genesis to be a competitor, they better make it be able easily out handle a car that is 4-500 pounds more than it, run faster than a mere tenth than same said car, and thats if it doesnt doesnt cost quite a bit more already...
  14. Yea i knew it wasnt as common on these but from what ive read gm still has a bulliten out on it. Ive checked pretty much every other nut and bolt on the steering column and even the engine cradle but nothin was loose

The bonneville has developed this kind of annoying clunking/vibrating feeling through the steering column when i hit pretty much any kind of even small bump. ive looked into it a little bit, but everything i keep seeing says clunking/vibrating, but when turning the wheel. is it still possibly the shaft anyway?

  18. easy fix to this sell car, buy LS1 car, do intake and exaust, run 12's and not have to worry about boost lol

  22. Point is though, i had 2 ways to handle it, tell em to fuck off, or try to keep peace and offer to help. I did a little of both in the end and told said person the car was fine when i sold it, but i will fix the the things when i get a chance, and not for free. Sad part is though, i sold the car for $100 bucks
