Yep, a lot of the problem is that there is no legal standard for what can be called absinthe. A lot of unethical businessmen took advantage of the myths and hype about absinthe and produced some really nasty drinks. Unless you take the time to read about absinthe, I would avoid the ones made in Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, or Spain. There are a few quality brands from those countries, but most are lighter fluid. And don't light the damned sugar cube on fire ..... who wants chunks of burned sugar dropping into his drink?

Not to everyone's taste ..... but I'd bet you either had a cheaply-made version (lots of European spirits sold as absinthe are little more than anise-flavored vodkas), or perhaps didn't prepare the drink carefully (cold water needs to drip slowly into the absinthe to allow the essential oils in the absinthe to be released to emulsify with the water and create the "louche." This gives the characteristic flavor and fragrance.) If you're ready to try it again, let me know and I'll loan you my absinthe fountain.

Where are those numbers coming from? Projected base price between 20-25k in most articles I've read. Unless they left room for a LS7 swap, nothing to get too excited about.

I think it'll be dry tonight. The forecast is calling for a 20% chance of rain and the radar currently shows that the moisture that's passing through here now has very little precip behind it. No one knows the future, but if I had to bet, I'd bet dry roads @ meet time.

No complaints from me, Dennis. You described the bike accurately and sold it to me at a fair price. Seems to me that there are better ways to discuss a regrettable transaction than by attacking someone in a thread he made about a new bike he's excited about. For example: trader ratings, PM's, a phone call, face-to-face discussion. I know most of the people posting in this thread--some better than others. But I'm surprised at some of things some of you have posted and don't believe you'd say those things in person. Stirring the pot for some drama can be fun, but some lines were crossed here that IMHO shouldn't have been. "The better part of valor is discretion" and, if Shakespeare's Henry IV isn't your thing, my father used to tell me this when I needed to hear it: "Better to let people wonder why you didn't speak than why you did." I must have needed to hear that a lot, because I've got it memorized.

So, I guess someone would have to look into the details of that before using it in a website. I'm not sure if calling our little gatherings a particular name could be infringing on thier t-shirt and coffee mug sales. If anything, I'd probably buy one of each from Griot's if our gathering adopted that name. The gathering's already got it's theme song (by Elliot Randall & The Deadmen): Bottom line is that these gatherings are Clay's, not CR's, if I remember correctly. So it's entirely up to him if any re-naming is in order. If "Columbus Racing" gets incorporated into any new name, then I'm sure it would have to have Anthony's blessing as well.

I can understand you would be irritated, considering you have made gestures to their group in the past (such as when you offered to do some things jointly with them). However, I agree with Wagner: don't fight it. Consider if "Columbus Racing Cars & Coffee" or better yet "CR's Caffeine & Gasoline" or some other such name is satisfactory to avoid the legal fight. Fighting with that guy would be like getting into a pissing contest with a skunk--even if you win, you lose. Don't let the bastards get you down. :thumbup:
