  1. Steve spoke first on the curly maple. I can give you the curly zebra or the kato (kato is a darker wood). If you want a curly maple, I'll give you my buddy's email and you can tell him what you want on the pen (wood, clip, mechanism) and he'll price you one. He usually prices the rifle pens at 30-40 bucks, depending on rarity of the wood. He has to pay a premium for the rifle clips. Let me know if you'd like one of the two remaining free pens I have.
  2. I'm having some really upscale acrylic ones made for me, they're oversize, with gold hardware. If you want, I'll post pics when he finishes them for me and you might want to have a few made. Thanks for your interest!
  3. Curly maple to Steve Paduak to Mike (RMTC)
  4. An old friend of mine began making fine furniture and pens/mechanical pencils in his spare time at home. He's been giving away his work for years to his friends, but is finally at the point that he wants to begin selling some of his work. He makes pens by hand, to your specification, out of virtually any obtainable wood. He has over a hundred rare wood blanks in stock and also makes pens out of acrylic blocks (like pens from the Art Deco era). He uses clips that are gold-filled, silver, nickel, and copper, and also has specialty clips. He puts various "innards" into the pens, but he mostly uses Cross and Parker mechanicals so that you can find refills easily. He can make ball-point, felt tip, and roller ball (no fountain pens yet). He packages the pens in simple plastic presentation boxes but can go upscale to rosewood boxes. Prices are from $18 for a handmade oak ballpoint pen up to $50, which buys an exotic wood pen/mechanical pencil matching set boxed in a rosewood presentation case. I have found his pens to be priced at about one-fifth the price of comparable pens. Unfortunately, my friend hasn't yet set-up a website or taken good photos of his work, but I'm trying to get him motivated to do that. He keeps about 50 pens on hand as samples of the variety of what he can produce. What I have pictured are pens I'm willing to give away for FREE to people who would appreciate this novelty rifle pen which my friend made from .30-06 shells. He bought the shells pre-drilled and then turned the wood by hand, sanded and finished it. As you can see, the clips are rifles. The mechanism is by Cross and is a twist-type ballpoint pen. If you will carry this pen and get some enjoyment out of it, I'll give it to you. I just ask that you pass along my buddy's contact info to people who show interest in buying a similar pen. Or, if you have an interest in having a pen made for yourself or as a gift, let me know so that I can pass his contact info along to you. Post to the thread or PM me and I'll get you his email. I have four more of these rifle pens to give away. They are in kato, padauk, curly zebra and curly maple. Just let me know if you want one and I'll deliver it to you at a meet or at Cars & Coffee. 5. Very classy. I used to trade for new (Range) Rovers every 2-3 years, but it became too high a price for me to pay for something that I was afraid to scratch-up. I never owned the Disco's or the other models, but the RR was an amazing vehicle. It did have lots of little glitches. I hope your experience is different. Gorgeous vehicle.
  6. If you'd lower it, it would get a lot more attention. That's what the lowering thing is all about, ya know?
  7. The Low-tus and I will be out for a bagel .... see y'all in a bit
  8. Welcome, Matt. Great looking car. Funny that you should mention needing to go to the track ....... here's your link: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78057 There's lots of time for as many runs as you want and there'll be a cookout and plenty of good camaraderie. Read up on the details: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78273&highlight=cookout I hope to meet you at one of our events this spring. + rep
  9. Locked-in. Bring all the cash you can scrape together, Paulie. It just struck me as funny, in light of recent events, the way we've been using the euphemism "in Mexico" during the last year or so.
  10. Welcome! The quality of pics doesn't matter, but the fact that you're re-building it yourself speaks volumes + rep
  11. Link for current vacancies shows none open in Columbus, Ohio. Are you saying that some will open in Columbus during that April 19-23 you mentioned?
  12. Welcome, Cy. Good looking 'stangs. I hope to see you at some of the meets and track days this year. I'll watch for the "I BEET U" plate. + rep
  13. I'd spend it on a weekend of total debauchery: hookers, booze, gambling. :bangbang: By Monday morning, whatever was left of the thirty large I'd probably just waste on something foolish.
  14. Your Ohio driver abstract spans the previous two-year period. License Status as of 04/06/2010: VALID ENDORSEMENTS: MOTORCYCLE RESTRICTIONS: RARE/EXOTIC ONLY ***END OF DRIVER RECORDS*** I can't believe I let some of you habitual offenders drive my cars

I'll be at BW3's at 8:30 to celebrate Scott's B-day, then it sounds as though we'll head to NTB downtown (around 10?) for awhile. If I hear of any other gatherings, I'll pass it along at dinner. For anyone new to these locations: BW3:7076 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, near the Kroger. About 4 blocks east of I-270 at the Main Street exit NTB downtown: 150 E. Long St., Columbus, the northwest corner of 4th & Long Streets
  18. Nice cars, big improvement on your introduction, plus I give you credit for not getting all pissy with your reprovers. That approach will serve you well here. Welcome to CR. + rep
  19. What? You're not charging for this? I think you should consider a $10 cover charge (senior members), $15 for open admission.
  20. Not only can I name it, here's a pic of it on the dyno: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/IMG_4563.jpg
  21. And if you added Gene Hackman, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman and Christopher Walken .... then had a surprise cameo by Bill Murray, well, there wouldn't be any reason to make any more movies, would there?
  22. Yeah, the Aria casino is so laid back ..... and right now the blackjack tables have the best odds in the city on the double deck tables: good penentration, dealer stands on soft 17, you can double down after splits, 25 min/ 10,000 max all day, every day. Wish I'd known you were there -- you could've come over and had a steak dinner compliments of Aria.
  23. Most importantly to me, the staff everywhere were extra friendly, everyone calls you by name (the room card transponder keeps track of you whenever you use it for a purchase or a service), everyone works hard to make sure you're having a good time. I'm thinking we need to have a CR long weekend out there ....
  24. Crystals, the upscale retail area. Much less crowded than the Forum Shops at Ceasar's and at other hotel shopping areas. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/2010%20Vegas/Pict0010.jpg Wanna buy a fancy watch? Wall screens are everywhere and let you search for what you want: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/2010%20Vegas/Pict0015.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/2010%20Vegas/Pict0012.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/2010%20Vegas/Pict0020.jpg
