  1. Welcome, Leigh. Good intro. Looks like you've put some hard work into the car. + rep
  2. WARNING This is a very dull nine minute video which should have been edited to about 30 seconds of moderately interesting footage.
  3. Maybe run this by Kyle or Brady at Pickups Plus .... might be able to give you some guidance on a ballpark selling price and (maybe more importantly) what the demand is right now for this type of thing. They could also give you some advice on things to look for when you see the truck. If it were me buying it, I'd sure want to see the 80k in receipts ....
  4. Depends. Do you have to take the little kid, too?
  5. some very funny stuff in that thread, Mike
  6. Repost from current LOL thread top of page 42 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1119034#post1119034
  7. TTT This is coming up this week. If you are interested in carpooling with me, post your thoughts about what day and time you're interested in going. I'm open for either Friday afternoon/evening or Saturday morning. As you can see from the post above, Ohio Riders has a bunch of people going up as well. Check back to the thread later in the week and see if we can come to some general consensus.
  8. Great bike, congrats, man. I'm told they're very comfortable and easy on the joints. Over the last five years, a lot of my older friends have traded-in their sport bikes for V-Stroms -- sort of a stepping stone from sport bikes to the eventual Gold Wing trike. And I mean that only in the best way .... When I'm ready to give up Ducati's, I'll definitely be in the market for a V-Strom, provided they're still being made at that point in the far distant future.
  9. I was wrong on that. I did some research and found that the 600 RR in fact does take the speedo/odometer reading in the crankcase rather than from the wheel, so changing either sprocket will have an effect on the readings.
  10. Considering its mileage and the fact it's been dumped and scraped-up, I think offering $3000 is reasonable. On a warm spring day it might be a $4000 bike to the right buyer, but I think that's too high a price to pay in January. Justin (Cycle Search) and Josh (Flat tire) are in the business of buying/selling bikes -- both are good fellas and I'm sure they would give you a fair appraisal if you PM'd them with a link to this thread.
  11. So, now you have it in for the extraterrestrials? That's so racist, man. Did you learn NOTHING from District 9?
  12. Nothing found for VIN Number _________. It may be that we don't have it in the database yet, but be sure to check that you have typed it correctly. Be sure to try back often, we're constantly updating the database. I can't wait until they get the Viewt and the Century updates in their database. This will be soooo handy in helping locate parts.
  13. I've offered to have Mike for dinner a number of times, but he always declines the invitation. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/hannibal_lecter20copy.jpg
  14. Hey, Ulrich, it's not how you stand by your car, it's how you race your car. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/standbycar.jpg It would have been jocose to have watched these three attempt to pile into the car at the show.
  15. Here's a few stills: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/slide_2749_38373_large.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/2009_Volkswagen_L1_concept_01_500.jpg From my experiences with the Lotus, let me tell you that part of the fun is watching the ingress/egress attempts by young ladies: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/500x_Volkswagen_L1.jpg
  16. I haven't found anything on price, Howard, but in 2010 dollars, I would expect it to be around 30k. There's not much material in this thing, but "carbon fiber reinforced plastic" doesn't sound cheap to me. I'm basing my SWAG estimate on what Honda claimed they spent on building Insights and also on the price Toyota gets from a Prius.
  17. Just a few seconds and a couple of keystrokes ..... It's the INTERNETZ, baby!
  18. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/vw-l1-car-concept2.jpg The news is sort of old, but I didn't find it on CR anywhere--sorry if it's a repost. The Volkswagen L1, scheduled for arrival on U.S. shores in 2013. One liter diesel hybrid twin, two seater, gets around 160 mpg, range of over 400 miles, top speed of 100 mph. Unveiled last fall as a concept car, VW reports it is production-ready. The prototype got over 180 mpg, but VW has backed-down on that claim for the production version. This is going to be looking especially appealing if gas is $5/gallon by then. Link has photos and a nifty 2-minute video: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/18/vw-l1-hybrid-most-efficie_n_291257.html
  19. In case anyone is curious about what a "cow powered by a mouse fart" looks like: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/CIMG0816.jpg I think mystery is often overrated
  20. Welcome to CR. Sharp looking car you've got -- I hope to see it at the track or at some meets this spring. + rep
