My apologies to those who didn't find out in time. My bad. It's definitely a great restaurant. Very nice dining room. We had excellent service, everyone was very polite and welcoming. Lots and lots of variety in the menu. Besides a bunch of sushi, I had a Korean entre, Stone Bibim Bat, which was very tasty and was a generous portion. New things I tried tonight also included Tatsuta Age, Spicy Scallop roll (I think that's what it was called--it was baked and topped) and Edamame. Mensan made excellent recommendations. A lot of western influences here, not that some adjustments to western tastes is necessarily a bad thing. In fact, for most of CR, it is probably a plus. The menu also has photos, which is a a good thing for me. In my estimation, Akai Hana might be the best all around Japanese/Korean restaurant in town for the price, but I have to stick with my original statement that the best sushi is at Yoshi's. Yoshi's is a much smaller, simple restaurant, with a difficult to comprehend menu (some sections only in Japanese), and you'll likely be the only Caucasians in the room ...... but the sushi is superb!

Crummy day for cars. But mebbe a good day for a CR taste-testing of Akai Hana? I'd suggest Yoshi's (my favorite), but it's closed on Sundays. Agreed. I've never tried Akai Hana, but from the previous posts, it has some devoted fans. Maybe a few people have some problems with poor service there ? I'd still be willing to try it. I'm also fine with introducing folks to Yoshi's, but as I mentioned above, it's crowded late. Make a sushi meet thread, and I'll attend

Matter of fact, I ate there last night. It's always crowded late. 5-6 p.m. is a good time because it is usually pretty empty. There's a dining room in the back that's pretty much Japanese patrons only. Last night there was a company party, which made things even busier. I can't see you eating better sushi for the price. Yoshi himself is the sushi chef, and he's a perfectionist. All this talk about sushi, when is CR going to do a sushi meet?

If you get a cop who sees it that way ........ Would I be willing to bet forfeiting my car that it will be enforced that way? Story from two weeks ago: Six of us from CR were at my garage late on Saturday night. We left the lot, essentially no other cars on the road, me in front with the Lotus. Others were in Miatas and MR2's, as I recall. We turned onto Liberty road a bit fast, but were never above the speed limit (35 mph). I was told that one car got light in the rear end on the turn. We were all pulled over immediately by Delaware City Police. Allegedly, an officer "thought he heard a tire squealing" on the turn. I expressed my annoyance with the officer about being stopped on such flimsy evidence. Result: two curfew warnings, one disturbing the peace written warning. If the current version of this street racing law passes, I could see that six cars would be forfeited. I'd like to believe that you're right, Wagner, but I wouldn't trust it to be that way based on what one Columbus cop said. And I don't see OSP giving anyone any breaks on this. I've been stopped countless times because, "it appeared as though you were speeding." Bottom line: stop this nonsense before it passes into law. Hoping you get an understanding cop or that you'll win with a good lawyer are last resorts.

You'd be surprised. I've had lots of good times in older F-bodies and vettes, and I have a lot of respect for some of GM's current cars. I feel that GM's problems have been management and labor problems -- some of their cars have been and continue to be well-engineered. Don't forget, my favorite car is still a Buick

It's a pity you execrate Toyotas so much ....... I've got three Toyota (and a fourth Toyota-powered) vehicles here just begging for miles. Despite being up to 30 years old, none has ever failed to fire up immediately or has given me the first issue. But I know that you would never stoop so low as to borrow one of these pieces of Jap junk

Well, I played to the very last day (today). For those of you who played, you might be interested in how things ended up. Winner: Helferin, over 26 trillion points, 751 streets (most of which were sabotaged) Thaiboy, that nemesis of the CR players, continued hitting me regularly. He finished with 278 billion points on his main account. I finished 2nd on my local board with 30 billion points. They have not mentioned any resetting of the game, only have said it ends December 9th. Thanks to those who played and helped

I've gotten so old that I really detest the cold ..... I'm getting a late start today on some car cleaning / piddling around. So I'm heating the garage up to about 65 degrees. If you need a spot to do some minor car repair, interior detailing, or the like, feel free to stop on in. No lift, only basic tools here. You can use my cleaning stuff if you need to. Because of the number of cars I have inside today, if you want to wash your car, it will need to be done outside, although you can pull it inside for drying. I figure there's room for about 3 more cars being worked on. Do you know that was an employee with a customer car? If so, he was taking a big chance; they have a policy of immediate dismissal for such behavior, and they have camera coverage everywhere on their property.

But I'll + rep you anyway. When I was 30, I didn't have and couldn't afford any car. When I bought one at 31, it was a $700 POS. I still couldn't change my own oil if my life depended on it. It sounds as though most of us in this thread have strong views on the issue. Has anyone made his views known to his State Senator? It's not too late to do this. I've contacted mine, expressed my objections, and asked that he look carefully at the bill. I've also asked that other viewpoints be considered in the debate. Since my State Senator (Bill Harris) is also President of the Senate, my hope is that he might have some control in keeping this bill from just sliding right through the Senate and into law. Here's some advice on writing a state legislator: http://www.nchomebirth.com/HTwriteRepresentative.html Also, CR can draft a petition expressing our common objections, and members can sign electronically. We could forward that to our State Senators. Perhaps I'm too optimistic that a bill with this much perceived support from the public can be modified/defeated, but it seems to me that the best we can do is to make a case that the bill be closely examined. If debate is vigorous enough, then I think that the Draconian elements will be exposed for what they are.
