  1. It was good seeing you and Danni at dinner. Sorry you had trouble finding the place. Feel free to phone or text me if you have trouble again. It was great meeting people for the first time: Mr. & Mrs. Luke, Morgan, Grant, and others. Sorry to those who had hoped to make it out but couldn't. Yep, http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105226 I figured it would be helpful for folks who had never been to the hangout before. Thanks to all you who made the trip. I think there were 15 guests over the course of the evening. Seems as though Forza Horizon was a hit. I hope to see you all again soon.
  2. Saw you drive right by. We are in the first building with the flashing OPEN sign.
  3. Six of us still here....so you're welcome to stop by, Grant.
  4. We are open for business. Six of us here now.
  5. The highbanks meet has about 35 people and is at the very back of the park.
  6. If he likes cars, he'll love it. He'll probably beat most of the guys at Forza 4. If the language is at all inappropriate or a movie too intense for him, just ask the members around to tone it down a bit and they will. The scene is so benign that some of the GF's have brought crocheting and gone into my office because they didn't want to watch a movie or were bored by the guys talking cars. There's also a pretty smooth, painted floor in the garage for RC cars, if he has one he wants to bring.
  7. You're welcome to come to the Hangout, and if you find out that Sawmill's poppin', you're only 15 minutes away, and it's a straight shot down Liberty Road with one jog west to get onto Sawmill. If Sawmill gets busy, I'm sure you won't be the only one heading out. Heck, if Sawmill is confirmed busy, we may head down as a convoy.
  8. Here is a link to the dinner/hangout thread I've piggybacked onto this meet. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1628925#post1628925
  9. Many of you will stop by the Highbanks Park meet Saturday 1-4. Here's the link if you missed it: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107485 Since you'd already be north of the city, I thought many of us might feel like dinner and then heading on to Delaware to open the Hangout for the season. My suggestion: Quaker Steak & Lube, meet there 4:30-5:00 before it gets too busy Leave for the Hangout around 6:30. Hangout should be open by 7:00 for any people skipping QSL. If you're a Hangout Virgin, there's Foosball, 55" screen with XB360 ready to go ... blue rays on hand include Fast & Furious 1-5, Boondock Saints 1 & 2. Forza 4 with wheel/pedal simulator setups. Sorry, I still haven't supercharged the air hockey, but it is playable. I should be picking up Forza Horizon today as well. Heated shop area for work on your car, but only basic tools available and no lifts. Please do not bring alcohol or drugs on the premises. A good variety of non-alcoholic drinks are provided free. You're welcome to poke around my cars, but don't expect a museum experience. I haven't even cleaned the numbers off the Bentley from the last track day. Stay as late as you want. Restrooms are on-site. Your parked cars are within eyesight. The front door will open at 7:00 p.m. Popo are bound to be watching your exit, so please, no ricer stuff. The hangout is smoke-free, but you can smoke in the garage (police your own butts) or smoke right outside the front door and use the smokers' station. Please do not throw butts in the parking lot or in the shrubbery. In case you haven't been there, here are directions: Howald Industrial Park 320 London Road, Suite 101 (in Building 100) Delaware, Ohio (across from the intersection of London Road & Liberty Road) the place is 14 miles north of Home Depot/Sawmill it is 1.5 miles from the large Jegs Warehouse at Route 42 and London Road If you are coming from Columbus, it's easy to just go north on US 23 to the first Delaware exit (South Sandusky Street, exit to the left but turn right on Sandusky St., then go about a mile and turn left onto London Road at the McDonalds. The place will be on your right just after the Delco Drive Through. If you are coming from Sawmill, go directly north on Sawmill Road until it ends at the Hyatts Road Roundabout. Turn right (east) on Hyatts Road, go into the village of Hyatts, turn left (north) on Liberty Road. Liberty road dead ends at the industrial park (turn left onto London Road, then immediately right, into the park). Questions/problems: Text me at 740-405-5565. I've got a full day today, so be patient about me getting back to you. Hope to see you Saturday night!
  10. Sounds fun to me. CR group parking area? Any interest in going to dinner later at Polaris, then heading up early to open the Hangout for the season?
  11. It moves me up a few notches on the list: Doc 12.75@110.94 1.94 60' 11/3/2012--Bentley Continental Flying Spur--twin turbo http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Bentleytimeslip.jpg
  12. Thanks everyone for coming out. We had 21 CR folks for the tour. I hope you all had as good a time as I did. You were all wonderful guests.
  13. Although not a personal best for me, the Bentley squeaked another tenth off its time. 60 ft 1.9364 1/8 ET 8.2964 1/8 mph 86.51 1/4 ET 12.7543 1/4 mph 110.94 This is the quickest 1/4 mile for a Bentley Continental Flying Spur. :fuckyeah: http://www.dragtimes.com/Bentley--Continental-Flying-Spur-Drag-Racing.html Lousy weather and all, it was still fun getting to the track and seeing everyone. Some genuinely fast cars there today.
  14. I recommend parking on Elizabeth Street. I will meet you there at 5:30.
  15. Coming up US 23 from Columbus, take the 2nd Delaware exit (the first one exits to the left, the second exit goes to the right). This exit is William Street. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn LEFT onto William Street. Continue on William Street for seven traffic lights. At the sixth light, there is a UDF. At the seventh light, turn RIGHT onto Elizabeth Street. You have arrived. If you cross train tracks on William Street, you've gone 3 blocks too far.
  16. sprinkles in the Akron area now  let's hope that clears out within a few hours
  17. there will be room on Elizabeth Street as long as you don't arrive late .... second choice would be along William Street.
  18. Good intro and nice cars, Miguel. Welcome to Columbus Racing. I hope you can make it to some of our events and rentals. + rep
  19. Makes sense now. He said he hoped to be in Uranus soon.
  20. With that arrival time, I'd say park as per the original post, then walk back the main drive of Blue Limestone Park (Elizabeth Street entrance, just north of William Street) and you should see a group of people walking around. If you arrive later, we'll be meeting on Elizabeth near the cars around 6:30. If you have problems locating us, call my cell: 740-405-5565
