Where do I begin? The last quickie project went pretty well. A lot of cleaning, painting, and powder coating. Given the small outlay in cash, parts pile digging, bartering, and trading I'd call it a success.
So here we go again. I have no real explanation for why I ended up in this position but I traded a perfectly good car for a non-running DSM. That's the best way to explain it. No convincing me not to do it, I wanted it and that was it.
I'm gonna name it Grimace. It's bulbous, purple, and bound to be a little dumb.
What it came with: Lowish mileage 7 bolt, EVO III 16G, FMIC, ACT clutch, Greddy Timer, XS boost controller, big Injectors, a box of random parts to be installed, EVO IX wheels, and FWD. Largely stock, Give the state of the car I'm hoping to have it back together relatively quick to see if it'll run.

Carbon Fiber Hood. Will a body guy be able to fix something like this?

After finally getting it on the tow dolly, but not before destroying the front bumper.. Chris (Major Payne) went along with me and as always is a huge help. Even though he doesn't like the BBQ Rib Sammich from Rump Rangers Fuel Mart.. I call it heaven on a bun. I always promise an adventure when you go on a road trip with the Patter$on. This round did not disappoint.

And as before, during the last journey to get a car there were wild animals along the road. Seriously, who's gonna let their goat wander along I-70? Oh yeah people from Springfield.
The initial work list will go like this:
Get a new D/S axle
Install the down pipe
New Fluids
Figure out the CAS ordeal (easy fix)
Get an ECU
Fix the FMIC mounting issue.
Correct the Nose Bleed Stance
Tune it
Break it
Rebuild it
Break it
Paint it
Break it
Part it out
For what I want to do with this, I like to PO's idea of the cut out with the stock exhaust. Nice'n quiet. But I'm sure I'll end up with something a little larger. Figure out how to keep it quiet and leave the cut out in place. Maybe run a larger DP and leave the rest. I dunno. I still have plenty of VW's in house, and I have AAA. So being stranded won't be too much of a worry.
I'd like for this to end up being a very clean car when I'm done. Paint will be very high on the list. But for now I'll just get it running under its own power. I will say pushing a GST around is a lot easier than pushing a GSX around.. Flame away gents.
I hope Dennis will be as happy with WTF as I was. It was an awesome car but I was not planning on keeping it.
