  1. 225" Wheelbase basic dragster. Black paint, Big block Chevy with a 2 speed powerglide. I have pics in my photo albums here on CR. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=851&pictureid=8726 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=851&pictureid=8725 Not a show car by any means, and you look close enough you'll find cosmetic flaws all over the car. She's not built for looks. But if you don't get too terribly close you won't see them. Girls would probably need a little help getting in or out of the car, and there are limited places to lean or lay because of the shape of the car. The wing is solid to lean on, tires would be fine, they could probably even sit on top of the cage. The air intake snorkel is getting repainted now as the former owners numbers were on it (under the clear coat). It will be painted white and then decorated with sharpie before being clear coated. I'm planning on adding some additional graphics to the car, all in white.
  2. I supposed I could bring the dragster out if that is unique enough for you.
  3. I've been thinking about moving further out into the country. We have no kids, so the schools don't matter that much. These days I'd rather build than buy. Just saw a 2+ acre lot up around Milford Center in the Fairbanks district going for $35,000. I might be able sell my place for around 250 to 300k. Build a pole barn house with attached 3 or 4 car garage and mega shop for the trailer and everything else. I assume I could make that work. My wife would love to be back out in the country, or so she says.
  4. I had a bunch a while back. My wife took them to cyclemet and they gave about $20 apiece.
  5. I love pacemakers. Count me in. If anyone is interested in making license passes Pacemakers is the place to do it.
  6. I lost my mom 16 years ago, and then my dad a few years back. My wife lost both of her parents before we met. My sister is the only immediate family I have left. I think that has made us closer than we were before. I support the recommendation to get a second opinion, but it's also time to make sure nothing is left unsaid. There typically isn't more than a week goes by that I don't come up with a question for my dad. I should have seen his passing coming, but I never came to terms with it. He was my dad, he had always been there, and obviously he always would. He is the reason I started working with wood. I never really had the interest when he was around. Now I'm putting his shop back in shape and putting his old tools to work. It makes me feel a little bit closer to him.
  7. I've gotten one of those letters too. I bought a truck, then sold it, then he sold it and the stated value yoyo'd quite a bit for those 3 sales of the same vehicle. We both got the letter. we stuck to our stated values and didn't hear anything else about it.
  8. I'll pass this along to my step-kid. He has been looking for a clean fox. How much still needs to be bought to put the car back together? I see the tail lights are off in the pic, do you have all that hardware to sell with the car?
  9. I'm sure that block saved some money, but its amazing how different people define the term "reasonable". Looks like an amazing build. After getting a taste at what the dragster was capable of at the last test'n'tune day I have to admit, I wonder what 1,000 hp would feel like in the car, much less 1,800 to 2,000.
  10. Damn, I already have another party that evening. Maybe I can come up to the hangout at least.
  11. I work near Plain City. I could probably swing by after school one day and help out.
  12. It's one of the few shows I miss after dropping cable. Yeah, its drama and more than a little BS. But it's my kind of drama and shenanigans. I'll take it any day over The Voice or anything like that.
  13. I didn't have any traction issues. All 3 passes the car burned out straight and hard. The first pass was a softer launch and let out a little early since that was my first quarter mile pass in this car. Second was a disaster, tried to get the engine to come up to the limiter on the brake and it died .... 17 second reaction time. My third and final pass was the best pass I've ever had in the car. Under the tower I could feel my heart beating and was taking deep breaths to try and calm down. The car burned out straight and hard again. Backed up quick and got staged. This time I let the car warm up just a little more and it came right up on the trans brake. I had pulled .1 second out of the delay box, and for the first time ever I remembered to release the button on the top bulb. The car left before I saw the green light come on and I assumed I red lit. Either way the car launched hard and pulled hard all the way through the finish line. I shut the motor off after the quarter mile and let it engine brake and I have to admit I was a little nervous about getting the car slowed down, but it did and I made the turn off without incident. I was hoping for an 8.50 pass, but didn't quite make it. There is plenty more in the car. Thanks Anthony and CR for arranging this. The suite was great, and I love Cottage Inn Pizza.
  14. I'm planning on selling my 94 Impala SS. Fits 5 adults comfy with a trunk big enough for several bodies. Not sporty, but no slouch. Huge interior.
  15. It's finally cooled off enough I can be comfortable in the staging lanes. If I can rip off a good full pass that'll be cool. I'll be happy with anything under 8.50.
  16. Awesome man! Keep us in the loop, and any time you need help .... don't call me (unless there is pizza or BBQ involved)
  17. For machine work I always go with Eric Grimes. For what you want I'm sure he can help you out. PM me for his contact information if you want. Although it doesn't sound too bad, you might be able to watch some youtube videos and figure out how to do what you need.
  18. Well, he said this wasn't over since it was just 1/8th mile. They want to race quarter mile. Pacemakers may have given them a deal for the morning since they had an event that afternoon.
  19. Sounds like fun. I want to try and get more seat time before I put the car up for the winter.
  20. The guy in the video Bill Leahey worked with me both nights I was there for my license. He was a hell of a coach and an awesome guy. His car is no joke either. It looks even better in person. He has be by half a second easy in the 1/8th.
  21. I had mine done up at Pickups Plus. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
  22. I'm likely way off base here, but screw it I'll bring it up anyhow. You want different, you want something to show the customers. Something you can build yourself. Maybe even open up some new opportunities for the shop. You guys obviously like the subaru platform. Why not a Factory 5 818? I know the budget is considerably larger. But in minimalist race trim might not be as bad. Some of the things you would need to buy, you will already be buying anyhow to convert a street car to a race car.
  23. When I first started shaving my head I had never used a blade type razor. I bought a Braun foil type and really liked it. Was nice and easy to use. Then I tried shaving in the shower with a blade and liked it better. Been using Mach 5s ever since. I am growing to hate shaving though, I would probably go back to the Braun foil type again. I wish I still had that old razor now that I've seen what they are going for on Amazon. I assume as with anything else you get what you pay for. $200 for an electric razor is tough to stomach though. Sorry to hear about the health problems. Hope it's something that can be sorted out.
  24. Ditto. Been a little less than 1.5 years, but I get the calls maybe every 3 months. They pressed me hard for a few months after I cancelled, Felt like they were offering the sun and moon compared to what I had before. The funny thing is if they had offered any piece of the new deals they are offering now I probably wouldn't have left. Once I made up my mind to leave though it was too little too late for them.
