my preference is smallest wheels the brakes will allow, with sidewall for winter-duty. groce
looking forward to see how it works out for you long-term, hope you got a good one
-
RIP enjoy his music all the time, another legend gone
-
Think on the newer ones you can take the key in or something? and they can tell you which services have been done.
Or maybe I'm thinking of something else.
Might want to go ahead and stock up on rear brake pads now
-
Damn, that's cheap
They were practically worthless for a long time. And they're not any better now than they were, just worth a little more for some reason
Kind of like that old k-car that you remember being a $500 car in good shape, and all of a sudden people are asking $3k for them :lolguy:

When the trans was built did they do a LSD or is it still open?
-
Hope you got a hell of a deal. Is it super high mileage, or just had the fuck abused out of it?
so much performance in that motor those BMWs, someone told me once they're going to be the new DSMs

Is that the shop down near Cincy run by Mark Schlachter?
If so, I know his son. I know that father and son had a huge falling out, and his son is a giant doucher.
Nope, up in Marengo
One of the few shops around certified by flat six innovations to install IMS retrofits. Good reputation, never used them personally.

yep check your terminal connections
is starter getting power? put a voltmeter on the starter and see if it's getting battery voltage
if it's getting battery voltage but not engaging when you turn the key to start, jump the solenoid with a flathead or other metal object of convenience to make sure the starter is functional

I think people who think it is funny to call Hillary some variation on the word Hitler are obnoxiously stupid.grantrum....lol...I thought these people liked you....grantrum...they gave it a name. you have no idea how funny that is to me at the moment.
Grant ---> Grantrum
Hillary ---> Hitlery/Hillarity/Hil___ whatever
You guys hear about that rain in Texas?
-
I remember getting the calls but my phone number wasn't found
Me too. I call shenanigans

In a couple weeks I will be at mid ohio and will try out my slicks to see how much of an improvement I get with them, as well as some HP+ brake pads.
Slicks are going to help for sure. Tirerack had the R1S on super sale on some sizes recently, but they're back to regularish pricing now. You can get take-off DHs pretty reasonably too when your R1S run out

The rentable garage business model still works in OTHER states, and every time I read on a forum "rented a lift..." I miss having that facility locally.
From what I've read usually it's a service bay with lift, tire mount/balance stuff, hand tools, etc all available. $25-$40/hr seems to be pretty common

Enjoyed reading through this, thanks for posting.
If you did it again, what would you do differently? Besides scheduling to drive both tracks

7% chance he was fast, 93% chance Rymer would beat him..
you sonofa
Sunday I saw a bunch of newer modded GT stangs get rekt by an old base 911 on worn out LOLtires...
-
Nah, I'll take a LHD one for like $15k

I do not recommend a 1911-platform for home defense, due to it's very limited magazine capacity and FBI stats on how likely you are to hit (was 1 in 7 hit last I checked).
I do not recommend a 1911 for a novice either, due to it's inherent fussyness, high maintenance, and precision of assembly.
I do not recommend dry-firing a 1911, research your specific model/variant before you dry fire a 1911.
I do recommend purchasing a full size glock, M&P, or other LE-issued or federally issued pistol. Dry fire away, 10k dry fires won't appreciably wear or hurt your modern striker fired pistol.
Get to the range as often as possible, try for a minimum once/month. Get some instruction. Get some friends that will motivate you to stay in practice. Join a club/league. Never hesitate to reach out to your resources (like CR) regardless of how silly or insignificant you might think your question is.

The guy who drove the recent ZL1 1LE lap posts on Rennlist and is a full time GM engineer not even a "hired shoe" pro driver
Yeah was neat to read his comments.
He's no slouch, read Randy Pobst eventually barely beat his time. I'd expect the test engineers know those cars better than anyone.
-
Same ferrari guy that bought nelson ledges? saw a pretty vintage ferrari there recently
-
welcome, the ZL1s pack a ton of performance for sure.
hope to see you at the track
-
This is the group that runs the DEs there, maybe if they get enough feedback it will drive cost down?
Yeah for $100 I'd almost not complain about the 130+ minute drive from cbus, $235 was a little steep and then they rolled our last session into the "open track" time so we had to fight more traffic.
