Ouch, at least it wasn't their le mans winning 787.
Gib ya treefiddy for it
-
damnit, carbon fiber + manual + hp = secksy. Hope it gets a proper LSD and not some electric junk, might be a rymer candidate in another 20 years
-
Even cheap-ass rymer does not approve of this level of cheapness.
Leave it at stock ride height, unless racecar
-
If you do it on a day there isn't an autox I'll stop by.
Looking forward to it.

Ran across this pover996 and made me think of you. Roll the dice for $11k?
-
Does this mean we can get rid of affirmative action, EOE, and all that?
I identify as an auto racer, when in fact I'm just a pizza boy trying to find another route home.

Being a full time student blowing close to everything I got to get a car that won't be driven much at all isn't practical to me right now. Id have to sell all the toys and be stuck with some turd daily. As bad as it sounds I probably would still do it but since the car isn't going anywhere anytime soon I can hold off. I'm mainly looking for a shell. If only I bounced on this thing on time.

Even if its a targa ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That car is sold, but if it weren't... has no engine in it. Porsche flat 6s are VERY expensive, and ls-swaps last I checked were $8k+ if you do the wrenching yourself and buy off-the-shelf hardware. If that car is perfect otherwise, $6500 ain't bad if you can source a replacement long block and hardware.

You missed your window by a couple years. If you're looking for high mile, salvage title cars keep in mind porsche parts are somewhat expensive, and you can easily spend more fixing a $20k porsche than just buying a good running $30k porsche.
If I find anyone that out of touch with reality with a 911 worth buying, I'm getting it for myself. If they have more of them, I'll let you know.
In your price range you can get very decent 996s, 944 turbos, 968s, boxsters, and some caymans

Is that the one chick from that movie like 10+ years ago?
Huh, though she would have been all grown up by now.
-
Not bad cars, too bad the fanboiz ruined the market for them.

I don't think he's driving the car hard enough!
He said he does 6-10 track days/year
-
There's a couple boxsters and a 996 or two? with 200k+ on original clutches as well on rennlist. And others struggle to get 50k out of them.
He should launch it more.

That said, Driving a sub $2000 rust-bucket car that you just bought down to Florida is full of :dumb:. Clay the last thing you want on that trip (i've done it dozens of times) is to break down..common now.
Seriously. I seriously doubt you'll find much that's worth a damn for that price range. Even decent mechanical stuff will be cosmetically so destroyed will be miserable to use.
I've got a sweet e36 that's been perfectly reliable for 3+ years if you want to give me $2000 + $1200? Plus it's a 6-cylinder so none of that pesky 4-banger head gasket trouble.

By that you mean 6 month old second best tire available this year?
Yeah but these poverty tires aren't made in meaty 285 width for proper powerhouses, only these little rx8-sized 245s PFFFF
I suspect we'll see these super sticky re71s will be overheated at a track day and wear much faster than rs3v2 in the same size/application.
Buy me a set of rivals, I'll bet you a ginger ale they're faster than rs3s on my car

Ohlins RIP
DOUBLE OUCH!

Bummer man. The only times I've crashed at mid ohio was because track was fine, then one corner was suddenly downpouring. Now if I see/hear of rain I just pull off like a puss to recon.
Glad you're okay. At least the lesson didn't cost you more.
Also 1:38.9? DAYUM

I like the lines of the fixed roof coupes, if only they made one like that with a removable panel in the middle to let some more air in?
They really need a fixed-targa-convertible-hardtop-coupe. Corvettes can be so confusing.

BMWs do suck in the snow. My lowered, open-diff 325 with 3 degrees of negative camber and 5 year old bald all seasons was barely able to keep up with traffic in a couple inches of snow this winter.
You can have fun, but you better not be in a hurry.
-
Such a shame a nice car like that is stuck with two pedals. OH WELL.
Welcome to the site.

I'll take it if still available. PM inbound
