He has a point. I have a B5 S4 and love the thing to death, but it is also the LEAST driven out of the three cars I have that are daily driveable. I will say it's treated me better than a 1G DSM though.

FSI motors are hit and miss with oil consumption. Some don't use any, some use a quart or so in about 1k miles. The high consumption cars are few and far between though. As for the SHO, aren't those notorious for the gearboxes assploding again and again? Great motor, poor execution, ugly car.

Any update? I have an M-box ecu in my S4 that I don't daily so if you'd like to put it in to test i'd pull it for you.

Living near Cleveland and Morse stories like this scare the shit out of me. My S4 has no reliability issues... I've had the car over a year and not had any issues. I could tell well before something was going on its way out. It's just like any car though, you modify the piss out of it and the weaker stuff that hasn't been modded is going to break...

I was a "poor college student" living in Chicago having to pay Chicago rent/utilities/tax while in college and maintained a full time job. I bought my S4 when I was in college...
