  1. When your dogs get out and run loose are you outside supervising them when they do this? It's just that before I ever knew anything about obedience training I would let my dogs outside while I was inside and the one would jump the fence and roam the neighborhood. Then I started obedience training/establishing myself as the rule maker and making it clear what was/is permitted and what is not. I don't have that issue anymore. Through obedience training I have taught acceptable and unacceptable behaviors and because I am always there to supervise, everything is always under control. Whenever you leave a dog alone to make their own decisions, that is exactly what they will do. As for all of the various tools you have used that do not seem to work, who taught you how to properly use those tools? I can't tell you how many people mis-use slip chains, pinch collars, e-collars, etc. because they have never been taught how to or tried to learn themselves how to properly use one.
  2. I wouldn't lose too much sleep about the owners looking for him. He should have been chipped and had had his tags on him and supervised. Dog can't run away if it is being adequately supervised and won't run away if properly trained.
  3. turn the haptic feeback off too so it doesn't vibrate everytime you press a key when texting. dim the backlicght to about 25% which is still plenty bright, and +1 on the task killer.
  4. Right on. A dog should NEVER show aggressiveness towards another person, or even another dog unless commanded to do so by the owner/handler. Whenever a dog makes it's own decision to exhibit aggressive behaviors, you open yourself up to a lot of liability. This is what I tell people abut my dogs. They are NOT protection or attack trained. Therefore, if someone breaks in my house while I am gone and my dogs do NOT bite them, I am totally fine with that because I would rather have a dog that does not exhibit aggression than one that exhibits aggression in an uncontrolled manner without direction from a higher authority.
  5. I hope you understand that this can turn into aggressive behavior from any dog. He is not staying with the baby because YOU told him to, he is doing it on his own accord because in the dogs eyes it is a new introduction to the family unit that is lower on the totem pole than him. He isn't "protecting" the baby out of love, it is status, the baby is HIS responsibility in his eyes. The fact that the dog barks at you when your rocking the baby proves this. Accepting this behavior is playing with fire. You may get burned...hopefully you will not though.
  6. Ohio house passed a vote to take the term "pit bull" out of ohio legislation pertaining to "vicious dog." http://www.journal-news.com/news/hamilton-news/ohio-senate-could-strike-down-pit-bull-vicious-label-735503.html
  7. Anyone want to take bets on whether or not the dog is microchipped? I am interested to know.
  8. Then don't provide beer. Over drinking problem sloved.
  9. Definitely some truth here. Be assertive. That doesn't mean overbearing and yelling and all that jazz but be calm, be serious, and don't lean over or encroach on the dog. Don't give the dog affection just for the sake of giving it affection, but if you call it over and it comes, show some affection. Calm affection. Soft but meaningful movements. If you crounch down to get him to come to you, keep your back straight. I can't emphasize enough not hovering over the dog. And that goes for any dog of any breed. I would say if you are a dog person, keep him. I do training ha ha.
  10. Same thing with Jazz and ribfest...gets more expensive every year. It's not about competing to see who has the best ribs, its about who can make the most money by charging $3/bone.
  11. comfest along with every other festival in this city is business and product, NOT art and culture. It's all about charging $11/beer and raping peoples pockets for the sake of profit, not community gathering. Just call it overpricedeverythingfest and be done with it.
  12. 13. Up for Sale or Trade is my Savage 220 20ga Bolt Action Slug Gun. Rifled barrel, 2 clips, comes with truglo red/green dot scope, sling, and trigger lock. I bought this last November. Has 50 rounds or less through it. It was taken to the field twice, once pre-season scouting and opening day of deer season last year. I don't really have places to deer hunt and I won't hunt public land so I don't really have a use for it. I will also throw in a hard carrying case. Hope to have pics up this weekend. The price is $500 for everything. Trades I am interested in are Glock 30 or Glock 27 with extras (I say extras because I can get a brand new one with 3 clips for $425 out the door do to the hookup), also interested in 1911 style .45. These are the ONLY firearms I am interested in trading for. Thanks for looking. -Ryan
  14. OK, so RC K9 is an official LLC now. (Thanks in part to the business I have received from Columbus Racing members). Now that I am set up as an LLC, I am currently working on drafting training contracts and waivers and all that jazz but am also in need of small business insurance and am open to anyone that has any suggestions on who to contact. I e-mailed farmers and they can't write me a policy and I currently have an e-mail into Nationwide. Any other suggestions?
  15. Las Margaritas on Frantz Rd in Dublin make awesome margaritas.
  16. I still have that extra valve cover...
  17. jumped into a pool with my phone in my pocket once...that sucked...
  18. Bump for clean car, I have ridden in it, very nice.
  19. Another reason they are able to offer services for less is becuse of the amount of surgeries they are able to perform. They state they are capable to performing more surgeries than most vets and because of this volume it helps cover their costs.
  20. First time I have gone to the vet without emptying my bank account. It was a nice feeling.
  21. Just went there for the first time with my two dogs and all I have to say is amazing. I got all 3 shots and blood samples to test for heart worm and a test done on my one dogs ear to see what the cause of the infection was, ear cleaning solution, and 1 month dose of heartworm/flea/tick medication for $153 out the door! I could not believe how little I spent and how awesome the staff was. They definitely get my endorsement.
  22. Sorry man, I stick to small streams, boat does no good there.
  23. Had some OEM clutch parts ordered through IPS which came in on friday but due to craziness at work I wasn't able to get down to IPS in time to pick them up, but I needed them by Sunday. Brandon invitied me to stop by Saturday morning to pick up the parts and when I got there he wasn't able to ring me up due to the offic ebeing closed so he said I could just take the parts and we could get together later for the payment. Just want to say thanks. I really appreciate the gesture which allowed me to commence the work on the transmission on Sunday. And for eveyone else out there, yes, I just called Brandon and paid for the parts ha ha. Thanks again. -Ryan
