  1. Anybody in here hunt? If so, how's your season gone? Last May I picked up a min-dachshund puppy from a very reputable breeder who breeds exclusively for falconers and this dog has changed the game. We are able to get bunnies out of places I never could before, giving the hawks many more opportunities as catching game. The pump himself has actually caught some as well, including this one yesterday that her tracked to a hole after we flushed it, and he went in and got it. Not shown in the video is the pup all the way in the hole with none of his body showing while he was digging in there to get the initial grab so he could pull it out.
  2. I don't live in OH anymore but man, I MISS SNOW and I miss DRIVING IN HE SNOW.
  3. How are you liking he G70 now that you've had it a while?
  4. I saw a G70 the other day. The only one I've seen so far. I loved the look. I want one.

    Texas

Texans are incredibly proud to be Texan and the funny/sad thing is, I'm pretty sure most of them have never left Texas. Yay, you were born in Texas, something you had absolutely no hand in accomplishing, yet take so much pride in. It's weird. I find things I like and dislike about every state. It's not all bad here. Worst drivers of any state I've ever lived in though.

Wife and I moved from Columbus to Fort Worth in 2011. I like the economy and jobs. I he pretty much everything else about it. The traffic, geography of most of it, the heat, etc. I like the falconry here. That and my job are my biggest reasons for being here. Outside of that, i'd prefer to live elsewhere. That being said, a lot of people move here and love the absurd heat and humidity.
  7. FK INSURANCE COMPANIES. I hate them. Hence why I love fighting with them on auto insurance claims and squeezing every last cent out of them.
  8. Tim, have you read Eating on the Wild Side by Jo Robinson? If not, I'd HIGHLY recommend it. I hate reading and I flew through it.
  9. Just read your response after posting min and pretty much identical. This is the way to go.
  10. I have something like $150,000+ in credit card credit available to me. And I also get increases on those limits as often as possible. I just obviously don't max them out. I just make sure to use them every month and pay them off every month. If it can be paid for with a CC, it's getting paid for that way and just pay off the balance every month. Credit in this country is a racket, but it seems to be a necessary evil. I don't cancel CC's. If I get a notice that one is going to be turned off due to inactivity, I go buy a pack of gum with it, or put a $13/mo reoccurring netflix subscription on it.
  11. Funny story about diminished value: A few years ago a UPS driver hit the back of my truck at like 5mph. I got it repaired at ford and informed UPS Ins Co that i'd also be filing a diminished value claim. The plan was to go to a few dealerships and get quotes based on pre-accident and post-accident. Before I had a chance to do all that, they offered me something like $972 in diminished value. I said, "nope." So sometime between my denying their offer and me being able to go get quotes, a check shows up at my house for like $2300. To which I say, "yep! I'm taking that." So I go cash that check. A week or 2 later I get a letter explaining that the check was sent by mistake, and I needed to return the funds less the $972 they had offered. Into the trash that letter goes. You sent the check to me. My cashing of the check was my agreement to those terms. EAD. I get a follow up letter a few weeks later with the same demand but also including a sideways threat about having to go the legal route if necessary. Again...EAD. You sent me the check. I didn't defraud you. Into the trash the letter goes. Then I get a letter from a lawyer, basically making the same demands with some implied threats. Suck my D, Suck my D, why don't you go and put my DDDDD in your mouth. Into the trash it goes. Got a few more letters over the coming weeks from the same lawyer/firm, all of which I just ignored because I hadn't done anything wrong and there was nothing they could do. If it was a mistake, it was their mistake, not mine. $2300 was fair imo. Eventually the letters stopped coming. Never heard a thing about it again.
  12. I'd like to see the CCTV footage showing you being careless.
  13. Mine usually last for many years, and I've tried cheapo many times. I fkn hate them. They hurt my eyes, and when fishing, suck. Need polarized.
  14. After losing my backup pair of sun glasses last week during a falconry hunting trip, I broke down and bought another pair. Went with the Maui Jim Lighthouse. Wore them yesterday afternoon while hunting then again on my drive in to work this morning. I am pleased thus far. They are very light, and comfortable. I'd like to get another pair of serengeti's in the future, but these Maui Jim's are nice. I appreciate the suggestions.
  15. I love my Pixel 2. I'd imagine the 3 and 4 are even better.

    Whisky

Anything by High West Distillery. My favorite being A Midwinter Night's Dram. But I have loved all the whiskey's I've had by them.
  17. I'be had my fair share of $50 and under shades, and then a few of the serengeti $200 shades. No comparison. Not even close. And my tend to last a long time, like a decade or more, so $20/year for a pleasant seeing experience is well worth it imo. My eyes are pretty sensitive to light and I often have to wear them even on cloudy days while driving to avoid squinting. I also do a lot of outdoor activities with a ton of sunlight down here, so I really have to be a quality over quantity consumer here.
