  1. I've got a buddy doing a similar project. Has a first attempt carbon\kevlar seat pan he might be willing to sell for a fair price. Not the prettiest thing, hence first attempt, but a layer of paint will fix that and it is very light and strong.
  2. Still holding onto the ammo. Want to provide whoever buys the rifle the first purchase option. Also want to avoid being stuck with the rifle down the road and not having any ammo for it, hate that.

And yes, the P90 on full-tilt-boogy was very fun. Even more so with a suppressor mounted.

  3. Dunno if I'd run that Blazer stuff through my XD again. I did two boxes right after I first bought it, and the stuff was HIDEOUSLY dirty, and not very consistent either.

I went away from Blazer when I discovered S&B for that very reason. Dirty. Although at this point S&B 45 has flat out disappeared. Now I'm heading back to Blazer just so I can keep what little skill I have from going away.:(

  4. The day I tried to live /thread

Pull the trigger, drop the blade and watch the rolling heads....

My favorite band. Saw them twice at the Warfield in SFO. Outstanding live performers.

  6. I've switched over to soft cases. Just a space issue when trying to load up the trunk.

My favorite soft side "square" rifle case is made by TacForce. The 40" version. I've had my FAL Para, a 16" AR, Glock model 30 along with some mags in it with room to spare. Now most of my rifles have an adjustable or folding style stock so keep that in mind. You may want a longer bag.

    It has two main compartments:

-Smaller one has a removable AR mag pouch that'll hold 6 30 round magazines and a couple of velcro straps to secure a pistol or whatever. It's lined with the loop portion of velcro so you can put things where you want or add more straps.

-Larger section holds the rifles. It has two rows of strap points and comes with two large velcro straps to secure rifles. I've added a few extra. It also has a padded sleeve section.

I've put enough crap into this thing too make it uncomfortable and the shoulder strap (which has an adjustable\removable pad) has held up everytime. The carry handles are also refusing to die.

They come in a few colors and sizes, I went with standard black.

Can't find any good pics of them online but Blackwing has them in stock.

If I'm dragging a lot of ammo and magazines to the range or shooting some place far away and need to bring anything I might need I pack up one of my

MTM Case-Gard Muzzleloader box things and load the bags with just the firearms.

Got one for each of my main rifle and shotgun calibers since they're pretty cheap and work well.

  7. Stated use of range shooting and protection:

    9mm, 40S&W and 45ACP.

Any of the calibers will get the job done if you do your part.

Once you make a firearm purchase the ammo to look for in regards to range or defense use can be discussed.

    Type\brand of pistol:

As has already been stated just go to a range (Blackwing is a good option) that rents pistols and has a knowledgeable, no bullshit staff. Or the other part where you join some folks that own a variety of firearms you can shoot for free.

Mentioned already so I'll just agree: We can't tell you the best for you because we aren't you. Got to get out and put some trigger time in.

  8. Home Defense: Good.

    Shotgun: Good.

    12g: Good

    20g: Better than harsh words.:bangbang:

Pistol Grip Only: You and anyone else in your house that might use it better practice a metric shit ton with that thing.

Prefer a pistol myself. With practice you can use it with one or two hands and much easier to deploy in a house. Not to mention most nightstands won't hold a shotgun.:D

  9. I'm all out of 7.62 and .223, soooooo probably not for me. I just screwed with the settings on my .38 laser. Now I am not sure if it's on or not. Gotta get some range time to correct it. I have no desire to stand in line and vances for hours to get ammo.

    Interweb bro, the INTERWEB!

I can't tell you the last time I bought ammo in any real quantity at a local outlet unless it was 22LR or a good deal on hard-to-find at the time 7.62x51 from a particular manufacturer\country.
