  1. Greg and ebell, thanks for the good time. Good to meet you, E. My buddy said tell you thanks for letting him shoot so much of your ammo. We'll have to do it all again.

    Back at ya.

And no worries on ammo. If I didn't want it shot I wouldn't bring it with me.:bangbang:

  2. To all the folks that didn't attend: You missed out on all the hot chicks and free beer afterwards!

OK, maybe not. But it was good clean fun and nice to meet some more of the folks on here in person.

Maybe Scott will figure out how to use a TV guide and be able to join us for the next one.

  3. -You can buy a barrel shorter than 16" (legally the shortest you can go without a tax stamp), but you'd better have a completed form 1 one on hand before doing so, or a 1.5" brake/flash hider for a 14.5" barrel.

Stripped lower purchased as a "short", or actual pistol now, and assembled as a pistol first (no buttstock) is an option for avoiding the tax stamp if you want a short AR. Keep in mind you still can't put a buttstock on with the short barrel without the appropriate form and tax.

If you own nothing of that type but do own an AR rifle, or a completed lower with buttstock installed, or a buttstock but no barrel 16" or longer, and purchase a short barreled upper you can be viewed as having intent to create an SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) by the ATF. That's bad if you haven't done the part Austin mentions.

    "Clear as mud"

And the laws (a very flexible thing with the ATF) are changed or viewed differently, pretty often by the ATF. Simple route is to make a 16" or longer barreled AR first and bone up on the current state of affairs before trying for something outside the norm.

  4. Nice, thanks for the heads up. Didnt happen to notice the models and prices did you? :D

I'll probably make some rounds this weekend, just found out Gander carries the M&P too

Not a problem and no, I didn't retain the details. Just doing my standard finger-fuck tour before hitting the range itself.

Side Note: You may have noticed the thread "Wanna shoot Sunday??" in this area. It involves several of us getting together at Blackwing on Sunday. Join us and take a look at them firsthand.

  5. Indeed! Btw: I found your next pink pistol for purchase. No, he is not gay... He just buys pink things from time to time.

The B.I.L. is going to have to wait until next Christmas but having an option now won't hurt.

And Scotty: Fuck that race. I'm starting to wonder if you know which end the bullet comes out.:D

  6. It's a last resort gun, not a take it to the range every weekend and blast off a couple boxes of rounds gun. Who cares if it hurts to fire if its the only thing going to keep you alive.

I'm aware of its purpose but there are better options (ergonomically at least) out there for me. I've shot my B.I.L.'s Keltec and it wasn't too bad. I coudn't even rack the slide on the Magnum Research without EMS standing by.

Ok, maybe not that bad. It did have enough weight to be used as a brass-knuckle-like device.

  7. So I guess I'll be number 4!!!!

I'll bring my glock and my mossberg 500, which I hate YET to shoot and have owned if for several months now.

Greg are you working that day? I need a clip extention and/or grip extention for my Glock 26 hoping you could help me with that by chance? Oh and I can shoot the mossberg there right?

Don't count me in the number Greg offered up. That makes you #3.

  8. I'll be there. Got my M1A back today so I'm looking forward to shooting some 7.62x51 for the first time in about 3 months. And I'm ALWAYS up for shooting more 45ACP. My wallet hates it but fuck that bitch!:bangbang:

Also need to do some new AR magazine testing. Probably do that tomorrow though.

  9. Trash day tomorrow. Many neighbors decide to put their big greens out and create a slalom course for me.:)

Went around and placed them where they belong. 2 hours later and a few have already done the trash can boogy again. Fuck it.

Pine tree's are shedding tips like mad.

Hopefully the birds that have been plaguing this area (and shitting all over my car) are getting a good thrashing.:bangbang:

  10. I've got to call BS on the "120mhz rated" thing. That's procesing at the TV itself. If a cable meets HDMI spec you're good to go. No need to take it in the ass for hype.

Like anything else, car parts for example :D, you do a bit of research to get to the truth and save yourself some heartache and money.

  11. Forgot to add - even though the freeways are smooth, what happens to your front suspension when you press on the brake? or the rear when you hit the throttle?

Or turn in either direction? Shocks go through a lot of motion all the time. Put a set off 700lb springs on your car and drive the same "smooth" roads.:D

  12. They already had sealing collars on the pump nozzle when I lived there. Wonder what this new bit of kit is like?

Not against reducing pollution but Kalifornia is so screwed up in how it goes about business I'm pretty sure the time and effort spent on this could have been better applied elsewhere. With better results.
