  1. Well, I kept going back and forth between the E350 and the XF and I kept on loving the XF but realizing that the E350 might be more practical. With that being said I purchased a Jaguar XF 4.2V8 today. I will be taking delivery of the car on Wednesday so I'll post pics then.
  2. Lol, you posted in the wrong thread.
  3. Just enter your credit card that has the highest limit into the iTunes/App Store and Mr. Cook will make it all gravy.
  4. So far my AAPL is down for the year but still way up from when I got in last year so I'm keeping with it. I just purchased some AMZN yesterday since it's on sale, will probably hold it for a little while. My mining and OG stocks have actually been doing pretty well so far, all up for the year.
  5. I is what I is, lol. Thanks for the info, this is exactly what I was hoping to hear. I'm looking at a couple of 4Matics.

  7. This. I actually have an Optima rental from Enterprise and it is loaded up with features for the money. I went over a speed bump in my neighborhood yesterday at 20mph like I always do in my Lexus and I thought the damn Kia was going to break my back! Meh, they are nice cars but I wouldn't enjoy dropping hard earned money on them. I looked at this, but not special enough to justify the small size. It is one hell of a sleeper though. I want my neighbor to buy one so I can look at it and ride in it but not actually have to buy it, lol. Oh you muther-truckin' son-of-a-gun. Driving the Mazda to work on Fridays and setting off alarms in the parking garage is one of my favorite things to do.
  8. Thanks so much for the info. Reading this first paragraph you wrote I was thinking that this sounds perfect for what I'm looking for in a daily. From what I have been able to research online they seem to do pretty well so far in the reliability area. I'm going to take a look at one on Wednesday after work so we'll see how that goes. You know, in doing my research I feel like you can't really go wrong engine wise with almost any manufacturer these days. On the Jaguar I think everybody else's electrical issues have pretty well steered me away from getting one...but I must say the XF is so so damn sexy. Thanks for the suggestion, I know I keep on telling people no when they suggest something but I really really appreciate all of the input/ideas, they help get me thinking. I think after doing more research today I've had to narrow it down to the Lexus or the Mercedes for what I'm after. For those who don't know, traffic in Houston is literally HELL. Driving dynamics and speed of a car will rarely be enjoyed by me, so if I can have a soft place to sit surrounded by nice materials and insulated from the outside world I think that's as much as I can enjoy a car on a typical day. I'll probably have to get something by this weekend.
  9. I would do an ISF in a heartbeat if I could find a descent one for around $30K. The regular IS just doesn't seem special enough to justify it's smaller size and, again, year for year they run around the same price as an ES that come with a few more options.
  10. Well, first of all, thanks for all of the opinions and advice, I really appreciate it as this is kind of going to have to be a fast purchase. Honestly, I'm not a BMW or Acura person and I probably would never buy either one, even though I know BMW makes good sports sedans and Acuras are reliable. Any Mercedes experts? So far I've been looking on the one MB forum I could find and they don't seem to have many issues besides complaints right after software updates and the fact that the transmission needs to be serviced every 40K miles. For some added fun, here is my smashed up Lexus: Got rear ended while cruising at 60. http://www.newcelica.org/photopost/data/500/medium/photo47.jpg http://www.newcelica.org/photopost/data/500/medium/photo_3_3.jpg http://www.newcelica.org/photopost/data/500/medium/photo_4_1.jpg The passenger side was more damaged but I was kind of out of it and didn't take enough pics.
  11. I have thought of these in the past, I'm just not sure if the luxury is there. That and the fact that I already have a fast car so speed is not a factor for me in my daily. I was talking to Christian earlier today and the one car I have been talking and talking about is the FRS, he said that although I really like that car it doesn't check many of my boxes and I wonder if the same would be true with an SHO.
  12. Honestly, I think I'm the only person I know who doesn't really like the GS. For me it's pretty much exactly like the ES except for RWD and 10-15K more expensive. I've driven an A4 and an A5 and I like a lot about Audi's, especially the exteriors, but there are some hangups that I can't get over. First, I leave my hand on the shifter when I drive and the Audi shifter just doesn't feel good in the hand, my other issue is that I would be looking at a 2.0T model and for my personal preference having an engine smaller than a V6 just doesn't feel luxurious to me.
  13. I kind of figured that about the XF, it's just such a nice car if it worked lol. I have heard that the Mercedes should be more reliable than the equivalent BMW? I have tried to look up info and so far I haven't heard many complaints about the E350 engine or electronics.
  14. Well, I was the victim of a hit and run driver this past week and my Lexus was destroyed. Now I need to get something new and I have decided I want a sedan but I can't decide on what. The safe choice is a 2011 Lexus ES350, it has all the luxury I need, it's dependable, but it is so so boring. With that in mind I have been considering two other cars that I'm hoping you folks know more about than me. My favorite choice, and the one I am most scared to own would be the 2010 Jaguar XF. It has such a great interior and the 5.0 v8 sounds awesome, but I am very afraid of owning a used Jag. The compromise between the Lexus and the Jag seems to be a 2010 or 2011 Mercedes E350 sedan. What I need to know is how to the Mercedes and Jag stack up as far as reliability? I don't mind spending more on maintenance than I would with the Lexus, I just don't want to be spending a ton on repairs. Thanks in advance for your advice!
  15. My neighborhood is right across the street from the Omni, lol. There are a ton of good restaurants and like 5 different "City Center/Town Square" types of places around town. Midtown and Montross areas have some really cool places to hang out and eat too. Depends on what you want to do really.
  16. Could this be the answer to such small probabilities. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthropic_principle
  17. +100000 Glad to hear you are getting to go home. You have been in my thoughts.
  18. I'm guessing solid metal butt-plug fell out when doing a naked 2am lap around the yard because he did too much acid and the lamp told him he had to.

  21. Hey, I thought I was helping you out? :lolguy:
