should i spend some money and have VMP Tuning give me an economy tune?

American Muscle. I was gonna switch to 87 octane and do an "economy" tune. They offer performance or economy tunes. current is 93 octane performance. Think switching to 87 economy is a good idea?

Thought that was some ricer shit. I've had like 4 buddies tell me to do it though. Bastards. I use synthetic oil. What other synthetic fluid is there to use? When i first bought the car (bone stock) it was getting 14-15mpg. Had the fuel system checked and cleaned out and had new plugs and wires put on about 5000-8000 miles ago. Driving hard, i get 15-16. Driving like my grandma, i get 17-17.5. Don't get it.

Hello All, I am looking for good ways to get better gas mileage in my car. I'm willing to do anything for cheap. Right now i have a "performance" 93 octane tune. Tomorrow i'm going to call and order a tune (for free) for "economy" and 87 octane. I only get about 17mpg right now. You can see my mods in my sig. Would buying a set of stock gears get me better MPG? should i stick with the 4.10's? Would lightening the car help? rear seat delete kit? take out the spare tire and trunk carpet? Or is that just stupid ricer BS? Thanks for any advice, i'm tired of getting 17mpg in a car most say they get 21-25 in. -Kevin

Thanks for the advice. What you did was smart, i may have to try something like that. My friend traded is 2002 civic Si Ep3 hatch, SLOW AS BALLS. DESTROYED IT in my stang. Traded it, even trade, to a guy for an SRT-4 with 10K miles less than his civic. i couldn't believe it. But ya, most likely i'll ask 5, and actually ask my friends to ask their friends and their friends and so on if they want the car. theres a ton ricers in reynoldsburg. they'd love to have a mustang with a deep sounding exhaust. i feel like i'm bound to find one who looks at the mods and is like HOLY SHIT THATS AMAZING FOR ONLY 5K. i used to think like that lol.

that blows magnaflow catback ~550 bbk shorty headers ~270 bbk CAI ~180 Ford Racing LSD ~225 4.10 Gears ~180 SCT Tuner ~350 thats 1755 +headlights 200 so i guess thats just 1955, but i payed 360 to have the exhaust installed and 420 for the rear end, so that'd take it to 2795 so technically, $1955 in mods. Still, its way faster than stock. 17.6 1/4 mile stock. beat a guy in a street race who ran a 15.3 buy a couple cars. so. its alot faster than stock (still way slow though lol) am i wrong that if i try to sell it myself i won't find someone who wants it for $5K ?

i guess i just don't understand how it wouldn't be? i got it with 62,000 miles for 7,000 but it needed a new front bumper and the headlights were fogged to shit. At the time, 7,000 was a V6 with more like 90,000 miles, even 100,000. It has awesome headlights now, new front bumper, and i've treated it like god. I could cover up the odometer, show you everything, let you drive it, and you'd think it was brand new. not to mention 2500 in aftermarket parts. anyways, i plan on selling it when it has 90-100K miles. which was worth 7000 two years ago. so, why wouldn't it sell for a similiar price now? do aftermarket parts depreciate the car? if so, i'll just find some 16 year old who wants a cool "fast" red coupe sports car and get atleast 5000 out of his mom. do you not think so?

both of those are awesome. REALLY awesome. I might like the bonspeed a little bit better. On any car, i think black wheels always make the car look way better. Especially cars that are already great looking like vettes.

Out of this discussion and my own research into prices and such, i've really become fond of the Mazdaspeed 6. its AWD. Its my favorite as of right now. I mean i'd rather have an Evo 9, but i probably won't be able to afford one with reasonable mileage. i actually understand what you just said. and i like it. honestly? i'm really not stupid. the "stupid" things i said in this thread were things people just misunderstood. Like "i only want a turbo car for a BOV" when in reality i just meant it was a cool bonus. Not a reason to buy. So i told that guy his Audi isn't as nice looking as my stang. Doesn't make me stupid. shortyusa.com airsplat.com you can determine a good gun by its FPS rating. for example, i had this as my first http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AP-UA-958BH.htm 290 fps. shot pretty hard, but hard to aim because it was a pistol. if you really wanna whip on those kids try to get 400fps and above. 350+ would def be better than a church loaner. after a quick browse found this http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AR-PS-M3000-FS.htm 470fps for $100 (GOOD PRICE) shotguns are nice because you can cock them fast and they hold alot of amo. snipers are most powerful and most accurate, but require the most skill to use. A pistol should only be used as a back up, because you have to cock every shot and only holds like 15 shots.

i used to want to do "sweet" stuff to my stang. Don't anymore. Not worth the money to be moderatley fast. I was going to spend 4200 after tune and install to put an M112 supercharger on my 3.8 V6. my car is SLOOOOOWWWWW. with a big supercharger on it it would have only made 260rwhp and ran a 14.1 1/4 mile. There are TONS of cars out there that are affordable and run that or better stock. I changed my mind. sold my parts. Saving up for a better car. Really man, don't waste money on the Geo.

95 Geo? i know a kid named anthony murdock with a geo. slow and shitty as hell. You should Invest your money in a new car. Really. Save up and buy something decent used. a mustang GT with 90K miles on it or something. save up for a different car for sure. if you had to do something to that car...it'd be an engine swap. don't mod your existing engine. Swap something in that has a turbo on it.

I do have a really sweet list of cars though. And there weren't really any more to add. And everyone chimed in with their opinion really. So. mission accomplished.
