@Just2Sweet Cool about the Cobalts, i thought they were pretty nice, i've heard about problems with the S/C models as well. @all I've never really even considered the DSM cars, i will start looking into and considering them, but i am really looking for something newer than them in all honesty. And something thats gonna last me a long time, and i'm guessing i'd have trouble finding one low mileage. I do really like the 98 Eclipse though. If no one noticed, i'm updating the original post with new suggestions and +1's for people liking any on the list Any other cars worth mentioning? Anyone have anymore comment on the Maybe List or the Suggested List (the audi's and VW's)?
-
Thanks for the tip BDAZGSX, i like the way the 9 looks better as well.
-
I've heard people bad mouth the SS...is that with merit? or is that just shit talk? Turbo DSM meaning Talon and eclipse? eclipse gsx.
-
@Evolved 8 any reason you just say 8? is the 8 better than the 9 to you for some reason?
-
For some reason i like the idea of something that comes standard with a turbo, not something i have to put one on myself. you know? something engineered originally to have a turbo. Plus i want something newer than the 5.0 foxes. Keep in mind also, i want a faaaaaast car, but i will want it to be my DD too. 5.0 turbo sounds bad on gas lol

Thanks for the input. I have quite a few friends with Subies and Evo's and their cars make me jizz my pants. I know 2 people with SRT-4's that i've ridden in quite a bit and they seem sooooo powerful like you said, great to build. I'm a total n00b really. I've heard of the Audi S4, but never knew it was anything special. 2.7tt sounds pretty damn good. I like the way the Legacy looks, i've always wondered if it was decently fast. Anyone have anything to say about my other maybes? Or anymore new cars to add? i added the audi TT and cobalt SS to the maybe list.

Hello All, I'm trying to formulate a list of all turbo cars that would be worth buying. It doesn't have to come fast stock like an Evo, but i don't want anything as slow or slower than my 3.8 Stang. And i want something that is easy to mod i.e. lots of aftermarket parts are available for it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/times.jpg ****Not a stock Supra. Average numbers with basic mods. Exhaust, tune, etc. **from 1990-1993 only 296hp. Same #’s as Dodge Stealth. NOTE: Pontiac Solstice GXP and Saturn Sky Redline have same engine and Stats as the Cobalt SS PS i made that list myself The list so far: Mitsubishi Evolution VIII +6 Mitsubishi Evolution IX +6 Subaru WRX +5 Subaru WRX STi +5 Chevy Cobalt SS +4 (Turbo model) Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 +3 Dodge Neon SRT-4 +3 Audi S4 2.7tt +3 Toyota Supra +3 (Okay to buy high mileage? worth the 20-30 grand it would cost? Or better to buy a newer low mileage car) Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX +2....(called bad DD though, also a bit old) Eagle Talon +2................... (bit old for my taste) Dodge Stealth R/T +1 Nissan 300ZX +1 Mazda RX-7 +1 Mazdaspeed 6 +1 Mazdaspeed 3 +1 Subaru Legacy GT +1 Evo X........................... (DUH) just added Saturn Sky Red Line Pontiac Solstice GXP Volvo S60R SRT-4 Caliber (Ugly lol) What am i forgetting?

$800 is just a baseline price. I would accept less. I know someone wants this as a fixer upper.

hahahahahahahahahahaha yes. Kevin is the best name ever.

Thanks for the tip Doc, i'll contact him. @Gearheadz, I know lol. Its my girlfriends new car. Wants it to be "pretty." For a low price, she'd do it. But more than a couple hundred isn't worth it to her. Thats why i just wanted a ballpark.

My parents would be more than happy to show it to you on a weekday evening, i live at OSU, but am often home on weekends, so it could be arranged for me to show you on the weekends, but it doesn't really matter who shows you. Tires aren't brand new, but they're in good condition. Good tread remaining. I think they are about 2 years old, but during those two years the car has done alot of sitting on the street (sorry can't tell you exact mileage on them). mileage is 128,XXX (or maybe 126,XXX sorry, i'll look tomorrow afternoon). Interior is nice. Spent alot of time this week vacuuming it and stuff. Theres no stains. Radio works fine. It has one of those cool removable ones (don't know the name lol). Unknown if the air works, heat or a/c. Tried the a/c some this week and it never got much colder than the outside temperature. Haven't tried the heat. The temperature knob comes off easy. Power Windows are both bad. Both need a new regulator. With some fiddling around with them, you can get them up and sealed. And you caaaan roll them down....but it would just cause you the pain of fiddling around with them later to get them up. pm me if you wanna arrange a time to come look at it.

Hey Everyone, My girlfriend just bought a car and is looking to get rid of this one. It is a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am SE Sport Coupe with a 3.1L V6. Went to get an oil change and an overall check up and they realized it has a bad rod, which makes a terrible clicking noise that we asked them to check out. Said we'd need another engine. I don't know if you could just spend some hours on it and replace the rod, or grab an engine from the junk yard, or what. The thing does start up and run, but he told us it doesn't have hardly any oil pressure. Buy it as a fixer-upper! Asking $800 but will take any offers. I live in Reynoldsburg. Thanks for looking, -Kevin http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00429.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00430.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00432.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00433.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00435.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00437.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00439.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00440.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00441.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00443.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00444.jpg

Hey Everyone, I was wondering if any of you could give me an idea of how much it would cost to repair some things like whats shown in the following pictures. Just looking for a ballpark. Thanks, -Kevin On the front bumper http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00424.jpg Driver side mirror http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00425.jpg 3 pics of Rear Bumper: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00426.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00427.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Omally23/DSC00428.jpg

was that actually you driving that truck? vlad?
-
why no room for boost?

That thing sounds great. The 3.7 V6 is really powerful for a V6 car too. Puts my 3.8 to shame.

On my mustang, i had shut the car off about 15 minutes before i started. The simple green worked great, but it wasn't that dirty in the first place. On the Gran Am, i drove the car to the gas station and back (about 4 minutes), shut the car off, then opened the hood up and everything was hot to the touch. i waited about 10 minutes and it was still quite warm, so much so that there was cleaner evaporating off of everything. The car was filthy, like half a centimeter thick of black gunk on everything, and i could tell that the warmth helped me to scrub it off. So i guess the answer to your question is, i definitely wouldn't leave the car on, however, it is definitely nice to have it pretty warm.
-
agreed. college overtime is definitely the best option. if not that, then i would definitely be in favor of a 10 minute period over the crap they came up with.
