Anyone know when Gran Prix Karting is opening?
OrangeDot3083 replied to bdhill's topic in Track is Crack
I’ll add what little I know. I received a phone call yesterday asking if I was still interested in employment and there will be more training that needs to take place. I wouldn’t think they would go through the trouble of spinning more people up if they didn’t hope/think it was soon. -
Finally got my track rat back together
OrangeDot3083 replied to greg1647545532's topic in Passing Lane
Hell do the other fender to match? You might even start a new trend? Just thought of this... you didn't do that at the track day we were at together did you? -
It’s good to see that people are excited about this. Little tid bit of information I got to add is they have ordered the softest compound tires that are made for those karts. Apparently they are 100% natural rubber. They’ve already tested a set and liked what they saw. Said that the tire had more consistent grip across the board. Their going as far as logging tire temps after each ‘test’ session to see which combo’s are working the best. So their trying. And as everyone else has said over time it will rubber up. Plus once summer rolls around and the concrete heats up you should see more grip and lap times fall.

Centralohiosubarus.com - local site for all Subarus. Legacygt.com - great information for the legacy platform only, quality site. Nasioc.com - buy parts and good info, huge site takes lots of searching. Be warned proper grammar not required. Clubwrx.net - not as good as it used to be. Rs25.com - Geared to the Impreza RS 02 and older. iwsti.com - STi specific site through all the years. Lots of good info and parts. Dirtyimpreza.com - if off road is your thing then this is your place. Ft86club.com - as stated BRZ/FRS Subaruforester.org - all things forester, loads of good information. Hope that helps.

Yeah that's about all of them!

The game launched yesterday, just as a heads up. It’s also free if anyone was wondering. Its early WAY early but I was setting at 2400 in the rankings for the final test for this week in the US as of this morning.
-
If i'm in town I'll have the 04 STi there and the 10 XT.
-
Or any of us that happen to be in the military and deploy overseas. Cause the internet we do have isn’t for gaming. Right I know that’s less than 1% of U.S. it effects but still feel slighted when they announced it.

Who’s going to give it a shot this year? I’ve done ok in years past, but this year I am stepping up my game. I have found an entire rig that has steering wheel, pedals and shifter that I will be able to barrow for the duration of the contest this year. Here is the link with release information http://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-6-demo-coming-july-2-with-gt-academy-2013/

Crap, I was wanting to catch up with him after his last session as we changed up a couple of things that he was doing and wanted to know how it worked out for him. I have one 10 minute video from one of the first rain sessions that I’ll post here soon. I did a lot of pointing by during that time. Lots to lose not much to gain by pushing it that hard. Plus I had Andrew in the car with me and no need to scare him shit less. I was trying to use that session as a teaching moment more than anything. Speaking of Andrew, he rode with me on a later session where it was dry and if anything it was an eye opener for him.

Thanks, I’m blushing ! It’s a BLAST to instruct when you’re at the level your at, as all I was doing was fine tuning when we were out there. And when you nail corner, it’s such a great feeling. Also regardless of who you run with next time make sure you sign up for the intermediate group. That is where you need to be. No shit, I was in the Blue STi that passed you on the freeway going home. That rain SUCKED! Visibility dropped to like 35 feet. But next time we need to post a picture as Draco said or something. Its too damn funny we’re all within 20 yards of each other and didn’t know it!
-
Sorry that I just saw this! I never checked the tread again after Friday. I would have made time for you yesterday. Sorry man. Well we kind of had that with the three of us. It was you, Draco and myself over in that corner. It was good times for sure. It felt a little disorganized in the beginning but I believe that rain was a major contributor to that. Did anyone happen to get pictures from the S2000 that wadded it up on the back strait? And does anyone know who had the 06 or 07 WRX TR with a Brembo swap done?
-
Agh, cause this thing would be a monster on the track! Not that the BRZ will be a slouch but, yeah.
-
Will you still be attending the track day on Monday? And this is your first ever track day right? If that’s the case I doubt you will still ‘want’ to sell it after that.
-
I would like to nominate James Patrick Tressel for tOSU President. Any seconds?

I'll be out there instructing in my WRB 04 STi. As far as I know we instructors are not assigned to drivers. So if you want a coach that is in a similar car as yours let me know. So the oil has been changed and the Carbon fiber driveshaft is in. I just need the pads to show up and the rotors will be going on. Nothing like waiting till the last minute.
-
Change oil, install CF driveshaft and replace front rotors and pads. That’s not TO much... right?

HPDE at Mid-Ohio Monday May 6 2013 w/ Hooked on Driving
OrangeDot3083 replied to OrangeDot3083's topic in Events
Yeah, sorry guys I dropped the ball big time with giving any type of heads up. I all but forgot about posting it here. If they are able to get another date later on in the year I will be sure to post it up. Don't forget you have the one on June 10th with Auto Interests that offers basically the same thing if you can't make this one. -
I will keep this pretty simple. Hooked on Driving is putting on a track day at Mid-Ohio. I will be out there as an instructor also running in C class when time permits. It is the most fun you can have with your pants on. Event page http://www.hookedondriving.com/event-details/Mid-Ohio_Sports_Car_Course_with_National_Corvette_Museum First time what to expect http://www.hookedondriving.com/first-timers Any questions please ask! Thanks, Jon PS - theweiser1 I'll be at your event too but wanted to let everyone else know of another opportunity to get on track at Mid-Ohio.
-
I will be there and I will be instructing. Can't wait to see some of you guys.

Nelson Ledges HPDE and Lapping Day - Registration Opens Today!
OrangeDot3083 replied to theweiser1's topic in Events
I will be there! It was a good time last year. Hope we get just a little better weather then the last time I was up there. -
I made it out but it doesnt look like many others did. Least from the numbers that are getting reported.
-
Me and the wife are watching it. Love it so far. I could not imagine taking a hit from one of those lances. Then when you get de-horsed you land in sand, yeah it’s softer then dirt but sand all up in places you didn’t know existed. That’s just adding insult to injury.

pdqgp I agree with a lot of what you say. I wish there was a way to get rid of the underperforming teachers. I also question why some districts need five different administrators overseeing one department? First a scenario then a question. Your special Ed teachers are under the same pay chart as all the other teachers. There are some people that said teachers pay should be merit based. So you have a special Ed teacher where she/he has kids that are wheel chair bound, are non-verbal, blind and partly deaf. How would she/he be graded on merit with a kid like that? Where you may see little to no improvement over the course of his life? I’m trying to foster more discussion with the above scenario. Hoping to point out it isn’t as simple as people think to just make it merit based and be done with it. Stating it as simple as I did might have lead you to believe that with just getting the minimum will get you a job right off the bat. If you are going in as a general Ed teacher with the bare minimums fresh from college you WILL be subbing for the first couple of years and I have no idea how little they make. Being that they only get paid for the days they cover you need the full time teachers to get sick and often. I wish we had a actual teacher on here that could lend us his or her experience, with actual dollar amounts. Also going in to detail about how hard it was to get hired with what they did or didn’t have.
