  1. At work and nothing I can do about the car being out. I just hope it doesn’t hail here... Please please PLEASE ruin someone else's day. Not mine.
  2. I don’t think the initial complaint was the venting but how bad the whole contraption sucks horribly at its job. That and the fact that you end up spilling more gas then with the old style cans. I would guess you have yet to experience the pure joy of using the new style.
  3. Hey that's a good idea... If I get bored this weekend I might just have to go this route.
  4. I feel your pain. I fucking hate them damn things. I had to go this route. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=siphon&cid=9379289776059035500&ei=GEiRTJS1EpHcNs3G-Wg&sa=title&ved=0CGkQ8wIwBzgA#p Old garage sales are about the only place you are going to find any of the old type gas cans. Or if you go to Jegs or Summit and buy some of their race fuel cans. I have tried looking every where and that is what I was able to find out. I guess a couple of years ago the EPA passed a law that says every can has to be like that. And that the old ones are now ‘illegal’. Some thing about how millions of gazillions of gas is wasted every year from it evaporating while in the cans. So that is what was come up with. I don't understand because if left in the sun they still blow up then when you release it you still loose it. And as you pointed out the fuel that IS saved is spilt all over when trying to use the damn thing. Fucking over protective government.
  5. I Yeah he won and was pretty untouchable. IIRC he went dead on with a ZERO and had an .034 light. That is impressive when you are racing by yourself and have the boards shut off. My wife had a .054 light and the car ran WAY off. She broke out badly. The time trail we got for the run-off the car ran 17.98 then ten minutes later we were going to run the run-off. The car picked up a 10th and ran an 17.88. That is the fastest pass that car has EVER made, we had a dialed in at 17.95. We knew it was going to pick up so we dialed down but who the hell knew it would pick up 10.
  6. I am glad you guys all had what seems like good weekends. I will say it was a blast and I LOVED the racing. I wish I could run a pro tree all the time. My lights were .066, .066, .022, .032 and a .050. And for the three pass's were the car stayed together it ran a 11.966, 12.014 and a 12.013. Yeah it would have been pretty bad ass not to blow the piston skirts off and keep the motor together. O well there is always next year. I hope they come back to Trails or at least some where close like Indy or Norwalk. O and it was nice to meet you Wagner.
  7. Yeah I just don't think that is the greatest idea in the world.
  8. This is a must read! I think this the nicest thing ever said about The Ohio State University by a Michigan fan. http://www.theozone.net/football/2010/Miami/helpfromfriend.html?sms_ss=facebook Yes I know there is another thread right now talking about Lebron and the Miami game but this is kind of different and I did not it to get lost or not read.
  9. Just want to say a great job to the wife for winning the points chase last night for Sport Compact at NTR.
  10. I had two sitting next to me that were complaining the whole time. They were like I don't understand why everyone has to stand up all the time. Because it's F'n Ohio State thats why!
  11. Anyone that went to the game did it seem like the crowd was just flat/sleepy? I know its The Herd but still Ohio State fans are never that sluggish. Hell I had people yelling at me to sit down when it was third down and we were on defense. That’s blasphemy. I don’t care what the score is.
  12. Right on. And my car is the blue one at the end of the track next to fire safty. Must have been working that day.
  13. Pretty much, but can you hate them for it? They are just following the rules put down by NHRA.
  14. We will have our 1971 GTO out there and possibly a 2004 GTO barring that nothing comes up between now and then. Should be a good time. How will the class's be split up? And you know I never gave you guys permission to use my car in your flyer! J/K!!!!
  15. Cool thanks for getting back to us on this. I will also PM you with my email, there are a couple of things I would like to ask you about. Thanks. I saw the first and I think the third pass but for a moment I thought he was going to take it through the beams like a prostocker. That would have been tit's.
  16. Thorne beat me to it but I was going to say an old Subaru. Doesn't have to be an Impreza but maybe a Legacy or Forester. I am thinking some thing 1992 to 1999. They will run forever and as Thorne said AWD is tuff to beat with a set of good tires. Plus even the older models have good crash test ratings. I can't search CL while at work but on my phone I found a couple of cars under your 3K limit and they looked 'ok'.
  17. First, I am not angry. I am asking questions and very curious. If I was angry I wouldn’t have came back this year. Ok, my follow up question is then why is it the same entry fee across the bored? At any typical event the Faster Classes have a higher entry fee to cover the bigger payouts. Even if this difference in entry fee is a little as five more dollars normally it is more but it adds up. This for the normal and specialty events ran at NTR over the course of the year. I realize that yeah if I want a bigger pay out I need to put more money in to my car make it go faster or just go some where else. Looking at the location of your screen name, age and knowing how many racers there were this soon I would image you are an IFO employee, if not manger type. This is just a guess. We could talk about this over email. I would say PM’s on this site but at this point I am only allowed two.
  18. I made it to the finals in the Bracket class but could not win it like I did last year. I had to settle for the runner up spot. All in all it wasn’t horrible a lot of fun and to make it back to back on final around appearances. Side note I think the pay outs could have been a little higher for the Bracket class. It paid $150 to win plus trophy and $50 to runner-up. Entry fee was $30 and this year took five rounds to make it in the finals. That puts us at 24'ish cars. $30 x 24 = $720 was made off of just the racer's in the bracket class. Pay out for that class was $200 so that is roughly 28% pay out. That just seems really low. Then to charge $15 a head for anyone that wanted to watch. Who ever puts this on made a lot of money that is for sure. This might piss some people off but I was glad to see the Corvette finally do a full burnout. That track was so damn greasy with all of the street tires it couldn't hold on just a small, get the tires warm type burnout.
  19. Still really new. So as I am sure every body else knows but was it the Orange C6 Z06? And are we talking this past Wednesday night at NTR? If so, damn that car is good looking! I did not get to see the first pass. The second pass looked like the car spun to the 60' and couldn’t get the tires back under it. It would have been a blast to see it back up that record first pass. Still a 8.68 @ 164.80 mph on a Wednesday night at NTR is mind blowing.
  20. I will be there with my 04 STi and the wife will have her 06 Elantra. We both will be running in the bracket class. I'm hoping for the same turn out last year... I won in that class and the wife made it to the final six before loosing to... me.
  21. I am running my fathers 71 GTO in the 12.00 class. Should be a good time. Its open to any make an model. Here is the link for more information NHRA UnLeashed And yes all pit passes and racer tickets must be purchased in advance and I believe are limited to 65 racers per index class? Not 100% sure on the number of racers allowed but I do know they are limiting the number of entrees.
  22. Thanks guys for all the comments. I like to take a less then traditional approach for modding my car. I have a Carbon Fiber one piece driveshaft that I am getting ready put in. That and I need to put my lightened brake rotors back on the car. The idea is to take as much un-sprung rotating weight off the car as possible. Get some hp back from that drive train loss we all-wheel-drive cars suffer from.
  23. Hello every one! I just found out about this site about a month ago. I been trying to sign up since but the process is a long one. For the record it was easier to enter the Air Force then it was to get an account on this site… Any who, I have an 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi. In 04 they still used the little ‘i’. It is largely stock. I have added some bushings and a harness bar and that is about it. I really stayed away from doing any thing to the engine. I was spending too much money on track days. I was going through brakes and tires like it was nobody’s business. That will happen when you are running two track days a month. That was all out in Nor Cali. Now that I am home and have a real job it has taken away from my track day time. That and me in the wife like to drag race. Ok now I am just rambling. Time for some pictures. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/OrangeDot3083/My%20WRB%20STi/PICT1000.jpg Harness bar and Simpson harness's, it now has the fifth point aka the anti sub belt. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/OrangeDot3083/My%20WRB%20STi/HT4U7085.jpg Turn 14 at ThunderHill http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/OrangeDot3083/My%20WRB%20STi/HT4U8163.jpg Turn 1 at ThunderHill http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/OrangeDot3083/My%20WRB%20STi/MF1A0201.jpg On the skid pat after the water truck made a pass http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/OrangeDot3083/My%20WRB%20STi/HT4U7105.jpg Turn 4 at ThunderHill
