  1. 2010 GLK350 4matic. Hubcentric. 14mmx1.5 bolts. cone seat. takes a 73/66.56 ring. They came from TireRack with plastic gorilla ones and I just ordered a set of milled aluminum rings to be safe. I'd just replace the wheel if I could find one. They are pretty cheap. They guy at TireRack said they blew them out at $59 in may. Pics of damage...not too bad...seen worse... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7017/6549127821_1a7a49b61e.jpg 2011-12-21_09-51-39_967 by harmonda, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7164/6549131577_f6de2b2923.jpg 2011-12-21_09-51-23_656 by harmonda, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7011/6549136075_d8094ec88c.jpg 2011-12-21_09-51-04_179 by harmonda, on Flickr
  2. I installed my snow wheels/tires. I think the hubcentric ring was missing on driver's front and I didn't notice. Unfortunately wifey drove it to work and almost lost the wheel. She was down to one bolt by the time she could pull over. 2 of the holes are elongated slightly. The other three are fine. The hub is fine and the threaded holes in the disk are fine. I'd expect there would be debris from the ring if it was there and there wasn't. Plan A = order a new wheel....nope...out of stock everywhere. plan B = I took it over to wheel medic but they said they don't fix elongated holes?? Plan C = I ordered new hubcentric rings and bolts. I found inserts online...anyone use them before? I plan to order them and the special drill bit you use to create the proper seat. Question...does anyone know a place locally that does the inserts or the weld and machine method?
  3. Anyone know a good northside shop? I went to a place off morse years ago but I don't have their info.
  4. Thank you. I loved this. I am sooooooooo sick of people running to and waiting for aircraft in that game. They waste a slot an actual player could be filling so they can get zero kills and contribute nothing to their team. I'll admit to disabling aircraft myself but never occupied.
  5. Wow, must be due to it being so close to xmas. For what it's worth...we've been playing with this one here all day and it is worth the wait. gluck
  6. I'm a geek so sue me... Space probes like the Voyagers us radioisotope thermoelectrical generators for power. Bottom line is that they are expensive and highly controlled since you could make a dirty bomb with their fuel and they can emit harmful radiation if you don't contain them properly. So don't look for them in the next Prius. Although a case could be made for irradiating prius drivers. Now Thermoelectric Generators that rely on temperature differences alone have great promise in automotive applications. R&T did a small write up on that in this month's issue.
  7. You should be good dude. I've never had a problem jumping the date once I was in the same month as my renewal. Just be firm on keeping your unlimited data. If you try the store and they hassle you...call their phone sales...those sales people are much more hungry than the folks in the store this time of year. You will find them more flexible and they will overnight you the phone. gluk.
  8. co-worker of mine just got back from the Verizon store on Polaris. Picked up the Prime, kept his unlimited data, got $50 off and our corp discount on supplies. +1 for screen size and light weight. But while he was in there...he saw one going into service that was shattered. Also..I found it to be very slick where you hold it and kept almost dropping it. So, a case and screen protector will be absolute add-ons.
  9. That is probably because so many people do it half-ass. RaceMesh is expensive for a reason. Even their plain, un=polished SS looks better than any other mesh I've seen because they fit it so well and include a nice edge.
  10. I'd suggest Racemesh grills. Maybe dark chrome. Here is a pic in polished SS....the dark chrome would be hot... http://www.racemeshgrilles.com/images/RaceMesh%20Pontiac%20Solstice%20Kidneys.jpg
  11. Sorry...can a mod move this to the right thread?
  12. It was a header-back system from Solo Performance. here is a pic from the install. (that was before I installed my lift) http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7170/6511065497_bb67afa0e4.jpg 030 by harmonda, on Flickr
  13. I am a Facebook drop-out. Got tired of ads, changing controls and my 'friends' trying to censor my comments.
  14. NM, found a NIB HD170 Stealth with extra battery and free shipping for $169 so I pulled the trigger.
  15. Anyone have any experience with the Drift HD170? Looking for a comparison to the GoPros. I like the remote control wrist strap and goggle strap mount for the Drift and it has a built-in LCD.
  16. Buddy of mine has that same car. We put an aftermarket exhaust on it in my garage. Sounds sweet now. He also had the dealer install some performance upgrade...not sure what it was..."stage" something. He opted for that because they would cover it in the warranty. Anyway...nice cars. Tons of fun. Sad, I thought Ponchos were on the right track when they got axed.

The last thing we need is more people. fail.
  18. For what it is worth...I have the SS version of that Marlin and the ghosts of hundreds of varmints from my property can testify to its' accuracy.
  19. OK...I KNOW this is very rough. I only have access to MS Paint at work. I can make it clean and solid in Sketchbookpro at home. But you get the idea. I altered an NHRA event logo I found. F' the TM. Problem? :gabe: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7171/6499597717_6f20ce0683.jpg CR LOGO IDEA by harmonda, on Flickr
  20. The cost difference just isn't enough to drop full coverage IMHO. Of course I don't have a beater so that may be why it works out that way for me. BTW...you guys who get less coverage because you think you are somehow a better driver than the other people on the road...wow. Think of it this way...how often do you drink from a glass? Have ever done that thing where you tap your teeth or pinch a little bit of lip between the glass and your teeth....usually followed by a loud "Fck!"? You'd think you were pretty damn good at drinking from a glass by now wouldn't you? But actually things we do every day become things we pay less attention to because we can. That is where mistakes come from. Same holds for everyday driving. I'm sure you are Mr. Special at the track or (gasp) on the road when you need to be. But I contend there is no such thing as being a mistake-free every-day driver. Get the full coverage dude. Consider it the smart fiscal thing to do and ignore the tweek to your ego.
  21. I have always been shocked by how younger people and women are treated by many businesses. Not even going to mention minorities. Can you imagine how you'd get treated in a gun shop if you were a persian or arab American? Anyway....I have the same suggestion for all these situations...find a private FFL and build a customer relationship with them.
  22. Anyone notice the gun in the fore ground in front of that disgusting picture of a Michigan fan?
  23. I've bought at both The Powder Room and NASR. All positive experiences. I haven't been to Vance's in years and then only the one down in the hood. Wasn't impressed. These days I find what I want and use a local FFL.
  24. We get great horned owls out my way. Looks like a person sitting up in the tree from a distance. With my small dogs and poultry I keep a good lookout.
