  1. Not sure if this helps any but I had to use a 2' breaker bar with a 4' extension (6' total) to get the crank bolt loose/tight on my Lexus (2jz). Factory torque spec was close to 400 ft/lbs as I recall.
  2. that and pRon, pRon usually trumps CR, most nights anyways.
  3. just not drinking as much lately..guess *sighs*
  4. screw the jaw puller and rent a harmonic balancer/steering wheel puller from Autozone/Oriely/Advanced. http://s.shld.net/is/image/Sears/00947626000?hei=600&wid=600&op_sharpen=1&qlt=90,0&resMode=sharp&op_usm=0.9,0.5,0,0
  5. Love the Lexus, hate the leg room (im 6'6, crazy long legs). So im wondering if anybody has ever heard of anyone re-tapping the floor/body such that they can install the seat about 6" from the OEM original mount? I understand that this can be extremely dangerous if I get in a wreck and the new threads don't hold, but other then that I don't see any reasons not to give it a shot? Ideas?
  6. as far as I know he is willing to strip the engine bay and have the car trailerd in. I guess he took it to moorespeed and got a rather pricey quote and was a little p.o'd. I told him sometimes you get what you pay for, but he said the quote was WAY up there (he knows more about welding then I do).
  7. naw, just from teh streets bra.
  8. They used to let-off for both MLK and Presidents day when I first started there (10 years ago) Thats bull shit they "postpone" it to a fryday when like 80% of the student body doesn't have class anyway...
  9. I believe it is in mint condition, just has rust issues under the body/engine bay. He's looking at putting some serious change into it but im not sure how much he's willing to spend per mod.
  10. Already @ CSCC for Automotive Tech, so i'd probably just take it down there. Shame, my grandfather was a master welder and my wretched (to put it mildly) aunt sold his entire setup after he passed away:mad:
  11. Yea I wouldn't necc. learn it for profit. Seems like a skill that would come in handy for any mechanic, side jobs would be a bonus. And he's looking to get it done asap, already got quoted $500 for the strut towers...Sound fair?
  12. Might have to take a welding class or two down @ C-State, seems profitable and in demand. I take it welding is an art that you have to master?
  13. As I understand it the big problem with individual health insurance plans is your lack of power when it comes to a denied/contested claim. When you have insurance through work you have your employer breathing down there neck to make things right, or else they (employer) may switch to another provider. Add a lawyer to the equation (perhaps at the expense of the employer ) and you level the playing field considerably. With individual insurance I believe your only option is to hire a lawyer out of pocket ($$$) and take them to court. Who do you think is going to win? How many people does your job employ? Might want to have some constructive conversations with your co-workers about getting some sort of coverage through the company, even if you have to pay "out the wazoo" ($150/month)

    women...

Most of those type weigh the better part of 400lbs. Jokes aside my buddy has a wife like that, nice, attractive, smart (doctor) and she's never a bitch. Let him do what ever he wanted, never complained when he went out, etc. Needless to say I avoided her like the plague cause I wanted dat ass and she knew it.
  17. I think AJ knows some ppl? Looking for someone to do a side-job rather then a shop but whatever works...
  18. Buddy of mine needs a quote for both front strut towers on an 87 Ford Mustang GT. Also needs a second (separate) quote for the 3(?) floor panels. -Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
  19. Actually isn't 1/2 bad...although he looks like a douche.
