  1. Word on the streets is the timeserts wont hold. Been on several Caddy boards and have read where numerous members have had to re-do the job, or just scrap the Engine. If you go on Cadillacowners.com there is a tech there who uses "Norms" inserts and claims there better then timeserts. Also inspect the block carefully when you pull the bolts, if there is any aluminum dust/particles the timeserts will not hold! Don't worry about rebuilding the motor, those N* are virtually indestructible (with the exception of the blasted head gaskets/bolts). You might also want to look into using studs of some sort as opposed to timeserts...what year is your caddy btw?

Thats exactly what one of the previous owners did. Bottom end swap then put the GE head back on, I believe his intentions were to go with the full GTE setup but he ran out of $$$ and just threw the stock head back on. I have every intention of correcting his mistakes/finishing what he started Nice ride

correct, the top end is the standard 2jz-GE, however the block is the GTE "The engine block, crank, and connecting rods of the 2JZ-GE and 2JZ-GTE are the same with the exception that the 2JZ-GTE has oil spray bars installed in the block to aid in cooling the pistons."

Hmmmm what to say in an introduction thread? Honestly never been in this position before as I can usually get on closed boards backdoor style, but anyways. Im sure some of you know me from OGF,Faslube,Valvoline etc (R.Reed B.Larue Fas-Taxi im sure you guys are all on here…not to mention my arch nemesis :chill:). Used to roll a ’95 Eldorado in my “OG” days, always wanted to boost and race it, but the fkn thing had so much torque steer to begin with it really wasn’t worth it (not to mention re-programming the pcm is a godamn nightmare…google “mark 99sts”). %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//i52.tinypic.com/2yzk2tx.jpg[/img] After a great deal of research I picked up a ’92 SC300 with the JDM Supra block (GTE), going to dice it out with the twin turbo package and should be cranking 500+ by summer (hopefully). Also going to drop a 5speed in it as the A340E is absurdly weak off the line until it hits 3rd. http://i52.tinypic.com/10mto9f.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/1564gsg.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/5vd07.jpg Sorry for lack of pics, teh lex is under the knife right now, however it will look nearly identical to this work of art once I get done with it. http://i55.tinypic.com/mmy612.jpg Later /B/ro's
