  1. do you still have the GTR?
  2. I am pretty shocked how many clean focus's with zero rust I see around columbus. They seem to hold up to winter well. GLWS with a great deal for a car.
  3. interesting, I'm curious to see how the Dart SRT works out and am looking forward for it. The reason why I said existing is due to the 2.4 being able to bolt to the A604 auto trans in the van that also had AWD. With modifications of either the case or the diff, the PTU for the AWD can bolt to the earlier A523 and I think A565 trans for an awd manual van. .... back on topic for the original poster, I would suggest trying turbododge.com or turbo-mopar if you haven't done so already to post the car for sale. The 2.4 swapped 8 valve car crowd is few and far between now these days.
  4. dodge would get a push in sales if they would go back to the 2.4, AWD, and a cheap daily commuter that you wouldn't have to break the bank for. They already have the parts to make it happen between the AWD vans and 2.4 parts.
  5. something my work place use to do before I got promoted was going to Crew/Clipper games that I wish to death they still did instead of the garbage they do now.
  6. shouldn't you be busy dreaming of mountain dew tatoos?
  7. I have stumbled upon some classic singles that were worth passing along. These two bring back alot of memories of a time when there were two after hour clubs between two titty bars and warehouse events
  8. Yes sir. For the rears, I would double check on Fordfestiva.com. It had to have been around 2005 so it's been sometime. I clearly remember going down to the junk yard and bolting stuff on without any issues. I just did the springs/struts, but I would lean towards the knuckles/brakes should be fine, but I would research it more. I didn't cut spring, upgrades, or anything. I didn't even bother with a sway bar. Just the springs/struts completely changed the car into shit's n giggles on the turns. It was an odd experience because you knew that you were slow as shit, but it was tons of fun in the process. On the freeway, I would have to be going down hill with momentum to get it about 90. lol.
  9. I had a Ford Festiva in college that was a blast. You are spot on that Ford Festiva parts bolt on. I took the struts/springs from an Aspire and bolted right on. My original ones were blown so the car would get dicey at 55 mph. It pretty much turned the car into a go cart with the part swap. It pretty much impossible to get a ticket due to two reasons: 1. you couldn't go fast enough to get in trouble. 2. An officer would look at you in utter disbelief that a festiva was flying around a corner My car was a complete beater that I never rolled the windows down unless it was a thunderstorm. It got great gas mileage and was one of the most fun cars I ever had. Basically the logic was if I ever got in a wreck I would just leave it to get impounded. FYI, the mazda 1.6 and 1.8 can bolt to the trans with fabricated motor mounts. Lol:
  10. Came across this article on yahoo: A St. Louis couple is likely thankful to have guns in their home after they were forced to use them to defend their daughter against two men Monday night. The men, one of whom had an extensive rap sheet, confronted the couples’ 17 year-old daughter after she stepped outside of the house to go to her car, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Cortez McClinton, 33, and Terrell Johnson, 31, held a gun to the girl’s head and used her as a shield as they entered the family home, where a five-year old child was also present. The girl’s father and mother witnessed the abduction, and both retrieved their guns. When McClinton and Johnson entered, the father fired several shots, hitting both men. The girl’s mother fired one shot but missed. Johnson died at the scene. McClinton was wounded but was able to scramble off. He had his brother take him to the hospital. In 2010, McClinton was charged with shooting another man. Charges were eventually dropped due to lack of witness participation. He also had drug possession and distribution charges against him. McClinton is charged with second-degree murder, kidnapping, burglary, and criminal armed action and is being held on $1 million bond. 11. looks like you had a killer time. During the corners were you thinking of video's to repost?
  12. I have owned several of them. This may sound somewhat odd but to make it easier, I would buy engine/transmission/suspension before getting the car and look to buy a clean shell. The money you spent on a stroker engine that comes with the car will more than likely end up down the drain. The good thing is that there are still shit tons of parts available for them. The magazine's you would want to read are hot vw's and vw trends if they are still around. Thesamba and shoptalkforums are great forums to ask around on. I havent been around aircooled vw's for over 5 years so I know other sites may have popped up. The engine I would honestly go for in a street car is a turbo 2332cc low compression engine with a mild cam. It would be streetable and you could still run the stock gears ratios in the trans. The problem with big cam/high compression engines and trans with shorter 3rd/4th gears is that you have to drive about 50 mph on the freeway and can only get about a good 20-30 minutes of driving before let the engine cool down... shit gets old quick. It honestly doesn't matter if you go ghia or bug body wise due to you can order just about any sheet metal you need to replace the bad spots. It's fairly easy to run a decent size tire in the back, you can narrow the housings and get stub axles. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure CB performance has valve train now that allows you to run higher lift cams without having to constantly replace the springs every 5-10k miles at best. If your engine swaps, you can buy a kennedy adapter plate and run the sti engines. The benefit is you have a dohc engine, but the downside is you have less control over the cc size of the engine. Lots and lots of options for you. Just depends which route you want to go.
  13. sorry to hear that. I'm glad he was able to live a full life.
  14. easy solution: 1uz and w58 5 speed from the factory.
  15. great build. Whats your opinion of the older 325ix AWD bmw's? I'm tempted to get one down the road and do an engine swap, but I see conflicting information as to how strong the center diff/trans are.
  16. lol. great pics. I bet the journey was fun
