Great idea. I'm always seeming to scour interwebz the dependable local folks when needing to get some work done. I'll dig out some of the info on few of the contractors I've used who were good when back home and post it up.

Saw it last week and thought it was pretty neat. But then again, I'm always interested in that type of stuff anyhow.

I suggest 161 and Cleveland intersection area of town... Cheap rents probably and always entertaining. No need to watch Cops on the TV, just go outside and watch the live action show from your doorstep!

How much you can get for them is also largely depending on if married to the trucks they were used on prior as well as there is typically a $100 to $150 fee to get it unlocked if still vin locked just as FYI.

Lizard Skins did my truck and was fantastic to work with and decently priced. I just wanted to take it somewhere and know it was done right the first time and they were for sure that.

Awesome! Glad you found exactly what you were wanting in the end. Car looks fantastic. Does she love it? ( I mean, what's NOT to love about it?!?! :-)

Having had both, I def prefer the Ecoboost platform although the 5.0 is solid as well. Gas mileage is largely driven ( ha, pun intended ) by HOW you drive with the Ecoboost. Drive with a heavy foot and getting into your boost all the time, yeah it's gonna suck. Keep a light throttle and will see pretty decent gas mpg for a 6k lb vehicle with aerodynamics of a hurled brick. I get about 16 mpg in my 12 3.5 but that's 90% city driving, and I do get into the boost all the time as drive it hard and it also has every mod short of water / meth injection done to it as well. It will get 20 to 21 mpg usually on freeway. Obviously if you lift it, put 35 inch mud tires that weigh twice as much, it's gonna negatively impact your gas mpg. Can't count how many times I've had people come up for a tune, and ask why their gas mpg dropped drastically after they installed a 6 inch lift and big tires. Tons of other details on em but feel free to shoot me a PM or call at 614 620-5050 if have any specific questions, lots of experience with both platforms both from my own trucks and modding them for my business.

Gotcha. Took about a week to get my Mach 1 delivered from Fl to Oh once I booked the transport company but i def went the cheap route as well. Kept checking my phone all the time to see status updates on where it was at during that week. lol

Congrats man! How do you like driving it?

F&F 15th Anniversary - 6/22 @ 7pm, AMC Lennox

I would prob be down for that. And dear god, it's really been fifteen years? -
That's exactly what I did and why I wanted one. Have an 04 Mach 1 being delivered from Florida on Thursday and spent about 6 months looking for one as I wanted a decent shape one that ran well, had the exact options I wanted and was a price I will to pay and not one jacked up by ten k because it's a MACH 1....only one of so many made, yadda yadda. Yeah they are nice and I like em but it's not like a truly RARE car. And in the end, it's a Mustang GT with different trim package and a Cobra 4v engine. A regular GT would be even cheaper and much easier to find.

Once the kids are a couple years older, the Zoo is a pretty good place for a bday party too. Just had my four years old bday there Rent a room for two hours, get up to 30 guests, zoo provides the cake, and has a couple staff members play animal themed games with the kids for an hour and then they bring in 4 to 5 different animals and let the kids see em and pet them. Then after the zoo bday party, unleash em all into the zoo for fun. We did that and then had a picnic lunch at one of the shelters that we brought ourselves for everybody and it was a blast. Should have seen the look on the guys face when I went up and said I wanted 60 tickets for the train ride so everybody could go twice. lol

Happy Bday bud! Next coffee at C and C is on me. :-)

Depending on options and brand, a quality cap is gonna run you $1500 to $3000 depending on options and whatnot.

Dunno how big a deal it is the but of all the minivan's, only the Sienna has AWD available. Odysseys, all the rest of em are 2 wheel only.

No you wouldn't. You would buy the blower, sit on it for a couple months, then decide to not install it, and turn around and sell the blower for few hundred bucks more then you paid. And do it again 6 months later. And again another 6 months later..... :gabe:

No, haven't seen it in person yet or driven but I did have the seller take it to a local dealership in his area and had it inspected and them call me with the inspection info. It's just a 04 Mustang Mach 1 so not like it's a high end car or anything like that, just trying to figure out the most cost effective way to get the car up here while at the same time, cya in case of anything going south.
-
Ok that make me laugh...Kudos for the 21 reference... Good advice all, appreciate the input.
-
There is no lien on the car, clear title in hand. Already verified that.
-
/\/\ If I was picking the car up in person, thats exactly how I would do it and have done so in the past. But in this case, I wont be picking up in person as having the car delivered to me.

Going to be buying a car out of state from Florida and having it transported up here. Only ever bought one car out of state and it was from a dealership and this is from an private seller this time so curious to see how the process works from others who have done it. Mail the guy a certified cashiers check, he deposits it, and gets the title notarized and signed at his local bank / notary and mails me the title and once the check clears, have the auto transport company pick up the car? My only concern is that the guy will have both the money, car and title at one point in time. Don't suspect him or anything, he's been awesome to deal with so far but at same time, wanna CYA if something should go south. Or get him to write a bill of sale before sending the money? Like I said, just not sure on the correct process to do it so any assistance is appreciated!

Ha, that was actually pretty amusing to read. And it's obviously a joke as any realistic comparision of the two will be skewered towards the needs of the person owning it. Not even an apples to oranges comparision, more like apples to bacon wrapped filet mignon... ;-)
