iirc the solar panels are the cheap part of a solar power system, its the inverters and batteries that kills someone in cost, I know a guy that was lookin into solar power for his house a couple years ago, he told me for him it wasn't worth it because he would have to cover his entire garage roof with solar panels to have a little more energy than required to run a window air conditioner, unless they made advancements that much in a couple years, solar power would prolly just bring your bill back to where it was (residentially anyhow)

a 4g63 is a very interesting option, and like most cars it can be done, but it would probably cost a good ammount if someone hasn't already built a direct swap kit, personally I would stick with a gm drivetrain, I know a 4.3 could be decently built and still bolt to any tranny a small block can if saving weight (or shifting it back anyhow) is a goal, but I tend to agree with the lsx guys, very tough motors, just drop one in and spray your way to your goal.

I say cover the stairs with a rubber traction mat and keep that salted, the mat would protect the stairs and the salt would keep that safe to walk on, I would nail the mat down though so it don't slide off the stairs when you try to walk on it

usually when a car is totaled and insurance is involved then you can buy the car back from insurance with a salvage title, usually pretty stupid cheap too (something like 400 I think but it might depend on the car idk) but anyways when you have it inspected they just want to make sure it is safe to drive and that it will pass smog I believe.

check the wiring to the starter to make sure no positive wires are touching the block or the bell housing, also couldn't hurt to check the starter solenoid wiring if its seperate from the starter (though I believe most gm starters have the solenoid on the starter, I've never worked on an lt1 motor) if that's not the case try disconnecting power from the starter and alternator (seperately of course) then test block voltage to figure out if either is bad or hooked up wrong

kinda looks like a genisis from the rear and vaguely like a jaguar xke from the front (kinda like when ford still owned jaguar). I had no idea that toyota and subaru were working together though (or toyota was sourcing a motor from subaru anyhow) should be interesting though if subie parts would work with this motor, maybe toyota would do a trd edition then hopefully with a power range near that of an sti.
