  1. How did I know when I saw your name that your post was going to some how include me in a way to try to put me down?? :dumb: :fa: Of all the people in here giving him an opinion (on the cars he asked about or the cars he didn't ask about), at least I am giving him an opinion based on personal experience. Now given his parameters of what he wants for his son, this may not be too far off. While they may have their hearts set on one of the two cars he asked about, there may be other options out there they didn't think about that they could be open to. That being said, it would be a very comfortable daily and with the suspension set up correctly could be a viable track car. The car also has a vast aftermarket motor and transmission wise.
  2. If you want an interesting sleeper daily type of car, look into a Galant VR4. The 4g63 is a proven platform and while the tranny is weak, there are solutions for that. I like them because they are uncommon and its fun to see the look on someone's face when you blow their doors off in such a mundane looking car (I don't personally have one, but a buddy does that I have ridden in, very fun car). Here is a 6th gen model http://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/plugins/PostviaEmail/images/1991_Mitsubishi_Galant_VR4_For_Sale_Rear_resize.jpg There is a 7th and 8th gen Galant VR4, but they come with a TT v6 and I don't believe there would be much of an aftermarket for those motors/drivetrains (although I could be wrong).
  3. If the post he edited earlier in he thread is correct (and it may not be), I believe his son wants "a clapped out s-10". Either way, he should (in my opinion) save the money for a better car if he really wants a manual trans (you get what you pay for, and in a car, $500 won't go that far). You could try bribing him by telling him that you would be willing to throw some money down on a car that isn't a complete rolling turd.
  4. I don't remember his name, only that he is from the Reynoldsburg area.
  5. I'm just curious, what does that dyno max at?
  6. I suppose if it pleases the court that is CR then, lesson learned. Either way I'm not terribly concerned about it as I can part the truck and make more than what I have in it, I just don't have the time or the will do to that right now. I have a friend that is a mechanic, I can have him put a mechanic lean on the truck if need be, but I could also sell it with a bill of sale too.
  7. I like the white FC, looks just like mine except I have s4 tails for some reason.
  8. This is just my opinion, but save everything you get back and put a lot of it towards her schooling. After she graduates and gets a decent paying job, then start saving for a vacation, you will be in a better place in life then to do so. If you absolutely want a vacation now, you can have just as much fun and spend way less doing so by going somewhere that's not as much of a tourist trap. What Grant said is not a bad idea, just take a long weekend somewhere.
  9. When he goes to sell that car, "it has a few rattles..."
  10. I'm kinda jelly, I'd love to have an e36 like this.
  11. Seems like I walked into a dick measuring contest...
  12. The truck wasn't running so I wasn't worried about it at the time.
  13. Thanks, I figured I was screwed. If the craigslist post doesn't work, then I will probably just sell with a bill of sale or just part it out.
  14. My brother lost a title we had for a truck that is an investment by both of us. The title was signed into my name and notorized but I never had it printed in my name. My problem is I no longer have the number for the previous owner to have him get a duplicate and sign it over again. My question is how do I either go about getting a title in my name or (aside of making a post on craigslist, which I just posted *fingers crossed*) how would I get information for the previous owner? I checked out the FAQ on the Ohio BMV website and from what I understand I can't get the information of the previous owner without his written consent or a court order. Please help.

  16. Have you thought about a SVT Contour? I may get shit for this, but the one I drove was rather spirited and fun to drive. Though I have heard that there can be reliability issues, that seems to fall more on the ones that have been ridden hard and put away wet. With your price range you could more than likely find a clean taken care of one with lower mileage. Plus I hear that you can swap in the more reliable 3L motor without too much trouble.
  17. Nice pick up. I can't say for sure, but those look like screamin eagle pipes to me.
  18. http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/3809261301.html May not be exactly what your looking for, but it seems to be close. Though I'm unsure how you would feel about the title situation.
  19. I'm not sure, I have been waiting for IPS Brandon to post back in this thread before I make any calls. I tried to send him a PM, but his inbox is full.
  20. E36? I know you probably wouldn't find the cleanest, lowest mileage example in your price range, but it sounds like about what your looking for.
  21. I saw on Facebook he was called out by a couple people and he didn't even answer, after he said he would race just about anything. My only qualm is he tries to get on people for "puppy kicking", yet he seems to pick and choose who he is going to answer their callout. Though I have to admit some if the people he ignores when called out *should* be easy money if his car is as bad as he claims.
  22. How about some accord on accord action?
