  1. He probably re-used the factory bolts and the head lifted. It could be that the head and deck were improperly setup for the gasket though (if both mating surfaces aren't perfect then it stands a good chance of blowing). If I were you I would have the head checked then use a factory head gasket with head studs.
  2. I wasn't sure, I have never owned one of these cars. I was just thinking if there is any way he could jump the power to the starter it would be a good way to test it. The screwdriver thing was just an example off the top of my head (I guess I should have worded it better the first time).
  3. Is there any way you can jump the starter solenoid with a screwdriver like you could old Fords? It may be a way to test to see if the starter is toast if you can find a way to do it.
  4. I'm curious as to what it looks like torn down for shipping.
  5. I kind of wonder how much the Mustang weighs and what the gears are. That thing is sick.
  6. You could try a company called air-gas. Idk what their pricing is, but the company I work for uses them and they have just about any gas you could ever need.
  7. All 3 movies I want to see are posted on cr now.
  8. It would be a great find for someone to pick up for 5k, any more than that is too much IMO. As far gone as the car is, it is going to cost a small fortune to even get it roadworthy, let alone a full nut and bolt restoration. Cool car, just not worth what they are going to get out of it IMO.
  9. 30 days before you can view the oven again iirc.
  10. http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_tense/2013/05/13/north_carolina_tesla_ban_bill_would_prevent_unfair_competition_with_car.html It's a ban on carmakers selling cars directly to the customer. :dumb:
  11. Your car is in good hands. These cars seem to be Alex's forte.
  12. Any word on this yet Brandon? If you need some help setting this up (for lack of time or whatnot), just shoot me a pm with anything you need me to do. I don't mind making calls or whatever I need to do to help.
  13. +1. I can't stand when people are too lazy to replace a headlight and think its okay to just drive around with their brights on blinding people.
  14. I would guess that could probably be replicated for less than what he is asking. But I also have seen this on CL a while back. Edit: I just realized nurkvinny beat me to it.
  15. I as well would have liked to see the end of his build. He did some very quality work.

  17. ^That's what I have heard Edit: Here is the link: http://www.modifiedcartrader.com/for-sale.aspx?i=33105&fb_action_ids=4995195840544&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=aggregation&fb_aggregation_id=288381481237582
  18. I keep reading that there is a Suburban with one of these in it, but they had to lengthen the front end to fit it. But I also read that there is a company that built the v16 for Cadillac for their Sixteen concept that built a v16 for that Suburban. Is there two Suburbans or are the internets confused?
  19. I could see that. My thought process was that if they were not at fault then they would have nothing to worry about.
  20. I hear if you go with a fast 102 you have to notch the firewall. And I can see where that car would have traction issues. :megusta:
