I meant caliper. Not rotor. Yes will be an easy flip but I think I'll drive this one a bit longer then most simply because I can mod it and it's a manual Oh and let me just say my wife HATES it, which is reason enough for me to keep it and make her ride in it

It has 143,009 miles. Not bad for a 1999.5 that has been sitting for 2 years and has service history and a full PPI before sale. With all parts and towing fee( this includes new DV, silicone turbo inlet pipe kit and grill, ie not necessary) I'm in it for $1300. I didn't factor in coilovers or wheels and tires because those are purely for my enjoyment. It runs and drives great.

It does run and drive good, but since it has a frozen caliper I decided not to risk driving it home 30 miles so I towed it.

Well I was in the market and narrowed it down to an A4 B5 avant. I ended up buying this one. It was between the one I bought and another with less then ideal colors. The seller was asking $3000. The brakes suck and has a frozen rotor from sitting for 2 years. Passenger window motor was shot as well as regulator. The good. One owner. All Service history. Well maintained. Clutch is good and it drives good. It also has really clean interior with black and cream. Anyway after looking at it I realized it wasn't worth $3000. The seller agreed. I offered her $700 and she took it. It's been sitting in her driveway for 2 years. She was happy to see it go. I've ordered coilovers, new brakes, turbo inlet pipe, new plugs and coil packs , RS grill, and lower door mouldings. Trying to find some cool wheels and tires. Oh new diverter valve as well. Drove an allroad and avants over the weekend. I'm set on the B5 avant. I loved the allroad and its power and but I would be more nervous driving it then I was my rover. I even found a mint allroad with a manual but passed. Don't like the B6 styling except for the door blades lol. The B5 felt good to drive. Loved the seating position and just how it felt. Narrowed it down to two. Going to be picking one of them up at lunch tomorrow.

In repair bills! When you put it like that sounds like the Landie was more reliable

Didn't you say in your thread if you were to do it again you would opt for an A4 :dumb: I have no need or desire for an s4. My Rover got a whopping 10mpg. I'm looking for a more economical daily. To many miles between hauling dogs, kids and studio supplies.

The allroad does come in 6 speed manual but they are next to impossible to find and if you do they command a premium in price. Seeing as I don't keep cars long and pay cash I'm not going to spend slot on something I will keep for 6ish months. That means a manual allroad is out unless I found one in the bottom price range that can resale for a profit Going to go back and drive the b5&6 avant again.

So a4 avant manual. Do I want the B5 or B6? Is it a styling preference or is one superior?

Is it because of the air suspension or mechanically it sucks?

Sold my Land Rover already. Guy is coming to pick it up tomorrow. I'm torn between an A4 avant or allroad. I have seen a B5 and B6 for the A4. All manual except the Allroad. I'm pretty much decide I want a manual car. What should I look out for with these three options? If need be any good repair guys that knows audi's?
