  1. I think some had injector issues but it was the "old" version of that engine
  2. I dont have anything to offer but amazement that BMW's high end stuff doesnt have remote start standard. Wtf....
  3. I know they don't make it. On3 doesn't make the turbos you use, but you still say On3, its a similar concept called private label, wild concept right? Its not snake oil, it's Ester Oil. I was a Nissan certified tech, those engines when they came in got the specialty oil. Call the dealer nearest you, it's not some hoax. Realistically any Ester Oil will do. Read the owners manual, i believe it lists what weights to use during varying temperature ranges and vehicle uses. If I owned a 3.5 or 3.7 calling for that oil thats all I would be using. Just like if I owned an M3 all I would use is the 5-40 Castrol or whatever they call for and would use ar the dealer.
  4. Dude this is why i built a pc. Every time i turn on my xbox to watch netflix it needs a 300mb update that takes hours
  5. Just because it didn't happen during your ownership does not mean it didn't happen before or after you owned it. The logic you are using is "Well I know 40% of the population gets cancer, but of the 100 people I know no one got it, so no way that can be right" :lolguy: I thought you were smart? 5.4 2V -Blows plugs out (rare) or they are stripped out (slightly more common) 5.4 3V -Cam phasers fail, sounds like the powerstroke everyone wants then -Plugs snap off in the head, this is every single truck. At least one will break, if it doesn't, buy a lottery ticket.
  6. 5.4's break plugs off in the head and have cam phaser issues. Its not a small percentage its every last one.
  7. This isn't hard Call the dealer and pay $12-ish a quart for the oil that was designed for the engine. Im not trolling. Nissan stocks a specific oil for that and the newer Maxima's.
  8. This is what happens when you have 24 kids...
  9. We all know how much everyone on CR loves to low key brag, so here is your platform. What'd you ask for? What'd you get? What'd you buy for someone special that was cool? What cool experience did you have? I dont usually ask for much as i dont give out many gifts really, I'd rather buy myself what i want with my cash. Mainly was after a better PC case and better PSU, asked for some AR parts and gift cards, outside of that just wanted to be left alone next year and not asked for favors Hope everyone has a great holiday!
  10. I'd run the Nissan oil that is specifically designed for that engine. It's expensive but worthwhile in my eyes.
  11. This has basically been my thought process after making this. Thanks for the insight
  12. No where shitty. Ideally north end, delaware county sould be a tough find given my budget. Open to union county or even marion county.
  13. 3 bed, 2 bath, 2 car garage, preferably detached but dont care.. Enough of a yard for the dog to have an "area" basement is a plus but not required
  14. My cousin saw a lot of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has survived 8-9 IED explosions, the last one really took its toll on him. It happened in 2006 IIRC, he is just now getting to the point he is "okay" in his words. Still, he can't smell certain things, whether it is related directly to a memory from combat or something that just doesn't jive well with him. He won't tell you what bothers him, but I've talked with his wife a lot before spending time with them to avoid as many of the "bads" as I can, just hearing what she has to go through on a daily basis is wild. She has a few stories on huffpost I'll link below. Any aerosol spray, colognes/perfumes, pringles cans/smell, diesel, bags or objects on the side of the road. Some of the stuff is obvious but you just wouldn't think of until you are told, but others (pringles) at first don't make sense, but once she explains a little they make sense. Something tied into a bad memory and the smell takes you right back to that place... I know on vacation my grandma sprayed aerosol and he nearly passed out from the migraine it gave him. I feel like it was shelved because the blasts were too intense for the sensors they had. Or it's the typical government bullshit where they say "HMMPH, no way the blasts could be that bad, better figure out a way to nerf these sensors!" My cousin has done a lot of work with the VA in regards to wait times as well as increasing benefits eligible for reimbursement to vets. They have 5 kids, one with Aspergers and she travels a lot for work, Jonah (my cousin) is unable to care for all 5 alone. One benefit from my understanding she helped get pushed was a credit for a caregiver to come and take her place, be it family or friend. Lotta of bureaucracy in all of this which is a shame. They earned it, fucking give it to them. http://articles.courant.com/2012-04-22/health/hc-war-veteran-caregivers-20120422_1_disabled-veterans-department-of-veterans-affairs-ptsd These two articles below my cousin wrote, and do a really good job illustrating the battles within the VA veterans and their families have to fight as well as those at home as a direct result of the PTSD and other injuries they have. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/blair-hughes/military-health-care_b_2122331.html http://www.huffingtonpost.com/blair-hughes/the-unwanted-guest_b_6278954.html
  15. Ive thought buying new, but seems like all the new home construction companies around just flat out suck. All i see is complaints on social media.
  16. :dumb: Of all people to say that lol
  17. I think my problem is/will be that most listings I see now are either freshly renovated OR they are COMPLETE piles of shit that need everything under the sun replaced. I would love to find something habitable but just needing some renovating as most except electrical I am able to do myself. But I feel like every last homebuyer now has that mindset of "Well I can find something needing a good amount of work for 10-15% less" which make them impossible to find.
  18. As i said, im not looking to buy yet. Just window shopping
  19. Very true. Renting for me now makes the most sense. Too many variables with school and switching careers after that, or even before. The next year to three is a big question mark and the sale of a home only complicates issues further.
  20. My hangup is renting is dumb too. Trying to find the middle ground of not pissing money away one way or another.
  21. So for the last 2 years I've casually been looking for a house, haven't gotten in contact with a realtor or anything, but just "keeping tabs" on the market and seeing what to expect when I am ready to buy. Today I've spent a solid 2 hours looking on Zillow around Cbus and most (90%ish) of the houses I've clicked on have been followed by a "How in the hell?" response. I know it's a sellers market right now, but some of the prices I've seen just seem insanely high. Is this just a Columbus thing or is it the new normal for awhile? I'm scared to buy anything other than a crackhead deal because I'm sure as soon as I do buy the market will tank. Am I the only one who feels this way? Or is this just normal first time home buyer stuff?
  22. Interstate for sure. Call battery's plus as well, I am unsure on the,
  23. I heard a middle aged lawyer from central ohio actually wrote the cal file for the 3.0 vw diesel fix. Rumor is he is working on a fic for the 2.0's
