I understand there's always a faster car and you can't rely on youtube/google for "street smarts" but when someone claims or talk about stuff they don't know about I try to correct them from stuff I researched before and then another guy claims this or that. I like being corrected with stuff I didn't know about or might of skimmed over.. 90% of engine building is research after all, wrenching is the easy part. You can't hate for a guy asking questions. After all if you can find a way to prove me wrong I like that. If you make a claim of this car running 93 octane but show me a car built for race fuel and wouldn't even turn over with 93 then your asking to get corrected.. it is what it is.

You just might drinking buddies?

2 9 sec gutted cars?I have no care for. You really don't understand anything I been trying to tell you? what does higher octane fuels allow you to do? each type of fuel has there compression limits.. what happens when you try to run 93 in a high comp engine? I posted a great link to learn basic shit about fuel types and shit.. if you think fuel type don't matter you should just let the shop build the 383 for you.. its simple... if I run this kind of fuel then I build my car to run it.. compare the results of a low comp engine vs a high comp.. same complete motor but one has higher comp pistons and heads milled enough to avoid ptv but almost push the limits of 93 octane.. I think it's 12-1 comp can't remember. so one engine 10-1 and another 11-1.. which would make more power and have a stronger powerband?

anything above 600whp is a big hp street car.. Everyone has there own type of "fast" or "big power".. useally anything above 600whp is useless on the street's.. but with turbo cars, think goodness for boost by gear that works quite well.. so hopefully I won't have to do vtec rolls. That's the plan anyhow.
-
That's not on 93. I don't think he slap a vp sticker for looks.. Show me the fastest n/a car on 93.. I know there's fast n/a car's but they're not on 93!
-
Why does these big hp cars want to race me? They're out of my league.. I need to be able to be bolt on f body's first. Maybe someday I will have a fast car like you
-
Wow.. On 93 octane? And N/A? Only 433ci with a 3130 race weight.. 170traps is just stupid. Sorry I can't see that happening
-
That explains why I'm gonna get gaped by 400hp cars this summer.. Corvettes are heavy and slow.. Ls engine's are Old school push rod engines that actually loose power when you add turbo's. The only reason I might make 500fwhp is because I increased the displacement because you know.. There's no replacement for displacement.

There's quite a bit that goes into that Alex..

Welcome! Very unique and a nice sleeper! Nice to see more and more turbo cars coming to forums!

Here's one of the sickest n/a builds I been checking on http://m.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?p=17050726#post17050726.

2 9 second cars that are n/a on 93 octane.. I would bet they have some big cubes.. I can show you a 9 sec bone stock ls2 (364ci) c6 with this same TT kit only on 9.5psi with a only drag pack. Yes the car is a m6 and stock interior/accessories. He used c16 mind you but he has a hobb switch to change from his dd 93octane tune. Not saying I can or will pull that off. He was gear limited to 135mph traps. You can't use YouTube findings to prove an n/a build is compition for FI.

I found most my info on forum sites like ls1tech. When I can't find what I'm looking for I ask and useally get responses back with real world experience.. When someone told me I might make xxxrwhp with 93 I started looking into it and I found out why.. I choose 10-1 cr because why? What happens when a engine has less compression? The pros-cons didn't suffix Me enough to go with a low comp high boost build. Now I'm either debating the Hobbs with c16 or just run e85. There's some much that goes into engine building people underestimate it. Why do you think I always ask what kind of fuel someone is running? I'm sure ray did his research an shit. Now I'm running 58's so that limits the boost but they spool quick. Faster the spool the smoother the power comes on.. The more ci you have the less boost you need to make some power. Correct me if I'm wrong please

Building an turbo/engine combo takes more knowledge than street smarts.. You can't just slap shit together and expect the world. Since I'm building this car, so yes I have to do my Own research. You learn quite a bit doing this way.
-
So you think 600whp n/a will hang with the big boys? Your probity still stuck on that no replacement for displacement theory. To make 600whp with a n/a set up then it'll have to have some serious ci.. I'm trying to say you can only build a car on 93 so much and then it's limited to compression meaning you'll need to up the fuel octane. Here's the best way to understand it.. No I don't need to call IPS and be another guy with a shop built car. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0311_phr_compression_ratio_tech/viewall.html

All I got is a 403ci car with baby 58's.. Still have stock interior, stock accessories, on pump gas built in a little garage by me. Nothing extreme. From what I'm told 400whp cars with gape me. Not skuurrrdd
-
You don't say there's faster cars on pump gas? I don't see a n/a car on 93 being in compition.. There's a thing with 93 octane.. Compression limited. N/a builds make there power from compression, 93 limits compression. . Now you build a high comp car with nitrous then you have something to lay on the table.. 93 is limited to timing and knock issues
-
Do you really think posting stupid shit on purpose? I like to test people. I care less what anyone thinks of me.. No reason to get butt hurt and work up a storm of hate. I was just going to remain quite but the options to troll has just been left open and I couldn't help my self.. Seem like dumbass actually a smart ass
-
So if I run 93 with a Hobbs switch for c16 then I'm good to go? Just going to have a buddy follow me around with a jug of c16 for every other race
-
I couldn't say it better myself.. That's what this thread is all about.. Good amusement and shit.
-
So he went to street meets when he had a baby turbo on pump gas and you drug him? In your sprayed 600rwhp car. And you beat a couple c6's on the highway..that was how long ago? He now has race gas and a bigger turbo with nitrous. Your not racing so why does your input matter?
-
I skimmed through his build thread.. I seen something about him talking about c16 and it being to expensive in shit. I don't stalk and read every post.
-
Why do you guys consider a car soley built to run on c16 a street car? I admire Alex and all the hours he have into that supra. His fab skills is top notch in my book. Guy has my respect but I see his car being a trailer queen.. C16 is just expensive. If he switches to e85 so he can dd it if he wanted and not cost an arm and a leg it would be even more impressive.. He wouldn't loose that much power and he could dd It without worrying about running out of fuel and being stranded. Building a car to run on pump gas is more impressive than building a car to run on race gas.

So a cam only ls3 made less power than me? I have a buddy with a 510rwhp cam only ls3. On that last run it was some what close but once I ran out of gear you started a slight pull. By about a car n half. I had the winter tires on and with 3.90's 4th ended at 128mph. The race was to 140? I was in 5th gear towards the end of it while you was in 4th untill the end. Was a good race and results was as I expected. He had street tires on as well But the gearing helped him out a lot. Cam only ls3's run hard for what they are! I belive the race would of been within a fender if I had the 28in tires on. I still have those videos
