Well done! An accomplishment most car guys can't claim once in their life you've done twice, I'm sure in gentleman fashion as well. Would love to have been there for it, did anyone get it on video? The run...and the talking to?
Thanks for coming, I worked hard on making sure the weather turned out too! We had a pretty good mix I think. Spent several hours converting and proofing some of the photos last night so later on today or tomorow evening I'll start tossing some things online for those who are interested.
A few people brought up today the idea I tossed out there last year about setting up a photo shoot for some cars. With scheduling though I think we will keep it to small shoots, 3-4 cars at a time. Unfortunately I spent almost NO time behind the camera today but I think we still got some great pictures with Merkur Brother helping out!
Thank you very much for all who showed up, always nice to be supported by you all. Had a lot of interest about more events this year....so maybe that's in the cards? As it was there were some great cars, solid turn out, and hopefully some awesome pictures!
My weather magic is working, as always Tents are set up, Skyline is finishing getting their stuff set up as well, music is going and cars are arriving. Hoping for a good turn out!
Looks like we are going to have a decent morning for this with the rain still scheduled to hold off till after 3. I know a few people are already shuttling cars over and I'll be heading back over myself to get some more stuff set up here shortly.
Come one come all!
It's not going to rain, power of positive thought my friends!
Weather.gov
"Sunday A chance of showers, mainly after 3pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 64. Northwest wind 8 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible."
We can close down early if required due to weather. If it gets worse as the day dawns we'll figure out a rain out date.
Clay shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send you the flyer or if you are in my area I can drop off flyers to you tonight that are printed.
Would love to see a strong CR pack all together at the show but remember boys and girls to socialize outside of your group
I'll be up late on Saturday night trying to get some of my toys back together also so I feel your pain. Going to be cool to see how much of the CR community comes out for this, last year we had a pretty good showing this year we are hoping for even better.
Debating taking flyers to Sawmill...but...not sure...
Well we are nearing the date and all these No Rain dances look like they are going to pay off, forecast so far looks like mid 60s and partly sunny which sound like excellent weather for the show!
Everything is more or less in place at this point so all we need is Mother Nature to behave herself. I'll be able to get all these boxes of swag out of my basement soon too!
For those who have done drags at this event what is the typical wait time in the staging lanes between runs? Battling which car(s) to bring and last time I was at trails was early in the season and I had about a 2 hour wait
I second Cordell. VERY few of our Dorman window regs ever have issues, I can count the number of them I have had back in the past 2 years on 1 hand. Feel free to PM me if you are interested in availabilty and your CR pricing through us.
Shaping up to be a pretty good show, now all we have to do is cross our fingers and wait for good weather. Anyone who can pass the word along to their other car clubs/friends/sites/hangouts please do.
Been a while since anyone has posted about this...who all is thinking of going? I'll be taking the day off and bringing at least 1 car out. Also Doc do you happen to have more flyers for the event I can stock on my counter?
How late do these shin digs usually tend to last for those who have been to them in the past?
Less than a month away and things are coming together nicely. Have another couple boxes of vendor goodies sitting in my office, who doesn't love swag? We are at the point where I could use some feed back from those who plan to attend, are we interested in having models to shoot with cars or no? Thoughts?
Alright SO...new carrier bearing in and car buttoned back up. Currently running on an LA2 ECM out of a thunderbird turbo coupe. With the various frankenstein parts from all sorts of different 2.3 cars there are a few electrical issues and programming that need to be worked out but she's on the road!
We are running a bit rich throughout the entire band and have an odd idle issue which is part of the computer problems which will be worked out but she should be ready to do some driving this weekend!

Need to get the suspension finished on the Mustang and hopefully from tuning with Brian...should be very doable before the date.
And free food! Fat kids go woo woo!

Where better to get your news than Jalop?
Update sans pictures...engine work is all finishing off. Ended up having to upgrade the stock 65A alternator to something a little more muscley in order to maintain spark at the high revs. Piping all done for the intercooler set up and nicely hidden away. Ran her down the road and an old vibration came back...
Unfortunately when the vibration came back it was right before the carrier bearing blew up So, new Carrier bearing goes in today and the process continues... Amazing how a car you got on the cheap can cost 3x its value in parts
