  1. Lucore Automotive in Plain City New CR sponsor, and from what I hear they are one hell of a crew Edit: Also, if the car is near to you in Hilliard we are just up the road from you.
  2. Stop in and say Hi sometime both of you, if I'm not here let Dave or Rich know you heard about us on CR and get a free t-shirt! Which CJ were you referring to Mitch? We do a LOT of Jeeps.. 5? 7? Maroon colored?
  3. Let us finish it first! Having spend the weekend with it it's quite the ride. Took it down to the river, back up for Cars and Coffee, then out to IFO. Nice little ride. Once we are happy with the tune and stuff... well... maybe we'll let her go. About to start our tear down of the next Subaru project on Monday anyways so...
  4. We have decided to let this car go instead of turning it into the parts donor it was destined to be, going a different direction with the power plant on the 51 Ford pickup. So, who wants her? 1988 Lincoln Towncar, has about 85xxx miles on the clock. Runs and drives though as you can see she's not exactly a daily driver. 302 EFI Ford motor, automatic transmission, posi rear end. Owner before us was building it into a demo derby car as you can tell by the lack of interior and only a drivers seat. Posting on CR till this weekend before releasing it to the wild public of Craigslist. Looking for cash offers, CAN be towed for an additional fee which can be discussed. Interested? http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150428_132249_546_zpspwm1bjqc.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150428_132301_254_zpspka4kgdn.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150428_132318_302_zpswiu8zg4w.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150428_132330_511_zpsakvab4sa.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150428_132409_202_zpsoqe6nmu5.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150428_132424_445_zpsatktljqd.jpg
  5. Now in my official capacity of shameless promoter, marketing dude, parts go getter, and forums dude at Lucore Automotive time to start a thread! Many of you know me from my time at Advance Auto Parts or have met me at various car shows and know I'm all about taking care of the community here. So, a little info about the shop. We are located at 7245 Industrial Parkway in Plain City, just west of Dublin if you head out 161/33. In business for over 15 years we are independently owned and operated shop with a solid customer base ranging from camry's and civics to medium duty commercial diesel trucks and custom made hot rods. On any given day you may see a F450 parked beside a stanced out Honda, with a Land Rover on the alignment rack and a custom carbed street rod being tuned. Working with the owner of the shop and the shop manager we are making a conscious effort to give the Columbus area automotive community a fast, reliable, reasonable option for automotive work. Anything from oil changes to engine and suspension builds we are here to help... Oh, and did I mention we are currently wrapping up the Merkur race cars for SCCA this year and building Project Frankenwagen which can be found in the Projects section here?
  6. As our business expands we are looking to bring on another Diesel technician however this position will also be expected to occasionally wrench on passenger cars as well. Self motivated individuals are a must, ability to learn and grow within a small independent business. Personality is key, we are a family here and enjoy what we do. To us bringing a car or truck back to life is a passion, hobby, and enjoyable. Typically those who fit in best with us work hard when on the job but outside of work know how to have a good time. A word of warning, we are also not looking for "Shop Hoppers". In this business it's very common to see technicians in and out over a matter of months, we are looking to build a team for the long haul so if you have extensive job hopping on your resume be prepared to defend it. Hours of operation are M-F 8-5 though occasional overtime is necessary on big projects or in a pinch. PM for Details. Thank you for your attention!
  7. Is your AP already married to a car or no?
  8. Looking to pickup some aftermarket exhaust for an 07 Mustang GT, this can either be muffles or whole systems. Willing to trade the stock system if someone is taking theirs back to OEM.
  9. Have a redneck muddin' and modelin' thing going next Saturday anyways that I totally almost forgot about so won't be able to make it anywho. But yes definitely thanks for the heads up so I'm not sitting in traffic in something that likes to overheat!
  10. Very good turn out, and the weather ended up being pretty much perfect. Some gorgeous looking cars, all in all very few breaks also which is unexpected. Met some people, gave out some shirts and pens, saw a ton of cool rides... enjoyed it as always. And the Frankenwagen didn't blow up going there and back as a "Racecar Support Vehicle"!
  11. Fixing to head out that way shortly in the Frankenwagen... boost isn't dialed in and no tune yet so won't be running her though If you find me, say hi, free tshirts!! Woo woo!
  12. Cold morning but nice to see some of you again. Not such a turn out, hopefully next weekend!
  13. Me? Stirrin'? No sir! Just finished the Turbo Back Exhaust a couple minutes ago, she doesn't sound too bad! I'll bring her to Cars and Coffee tomorrow of ya'll to take a look then tomorrow, new TMIC and Up-pipe then tuning time
  14. Well, after putting a few hundred miles on her over the past few days picking up parts (and lunch), checking compression and everything else we need to keep an eye on... looks like its time for some of the fun stuff. http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150424_150642_957_zpsm5vwld42.jpg Pictured here, full stainless steel from the turbo back, stainless up pipe and two options for TMIC. We are unsure of fitment at this point as to which we are going to be using so we will see how that goes. NOT pictured here is the new VF39 turbo, and ported '05 STi headers with enlarged cross pipe. Barring any unforeseen circumstances we should have all this stuff bolted up and ready for some testing by tonight! Hopefully make it to Cars and Coffee in the morning, then IFO on Sunday! Woo woo!
  15. Looks like the Subie will be back together and functional, bringing it out for some abuse and put some miles on her. Are people meeting up anywhere before heading out?
  16. Alright so far so good, she's back in one piece with a few small modifications just for a little bit of break in mileage. STi Headers and turbo on, all fluids flushed one last time, and screens checked for any sparkles or chunks. Fires up and moves around under her own power well, this weekend we'll put her through her paces for some shake down... then Monday back under the knife for Upgrade time as long as all is well! A couple boring photos to follow. http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150421_163933_459_zpsdcpgzt9q.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/0413152013_zpsz23bbgv4.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150421_164002_817_zpsenf1lfue.jpg
  17. Are we going to have a spot where we are all trying to park? A flag to look for? fat guy in a tutu and pompoms? What time are people planning to get there? I know last year there was a pretty amazing wait time to get through the gate..
  18. New turbo, and all piping on hand. New large TMIC arriving Monday. Put all things back together tomorrow and put some mileage on this weekend, see how she shakes out then tune and go So far, so good!
  19. As long as I can get the Frankenwagen in at least a semi running state I'll be there in it!
  20. Haven't even finished building it yet, quit trying to take my toys away! Now after she's back in 1 piece and running like she will be once we're done with it... you never know ;P
  21. Cheap fun low profile performance is hard to pass up Mr Gump Also, as a parts go getter vehicle its hard to pass up on something with this much storage and functionality.
  22. Fortunately this one doesn't seem to be taking too much of a price in blood just yet, now the Merkurs on the other hand... require daily offerings whenever we plan on working on them.
  23. http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/0408151806_zps6reawj0r.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/0408151807_zpscx99inpk.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/0408151917_zpsachbls6c.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/0408151926_zpshqa8tfi5.jpg
  24. Unfortunately when the turbo scattered the first time it pulled shiny metal flake through.. well everything. Second time, seems to have done the same thing. Unless the previous shop used that new fangled Sparkles Added Oil.. We have worked on a ton of other Subaru for customers but this is the first WE will have as a shop. Its been ours for about a week
  25. We've all been there, trying to finish one project and get it back on the road when another opportunity comes up. So in the process of finishing off some other rides before it truly becomes racing/cruising season of course something else has to show up.. .. in the form of a 2004 Subaru Forester XT automatic with 118000 on the clock. Unfortunately this particular car while appearing well kept and clean was hiding a very dirty secret, it was a turbo eater. Specifically 2 stock turbos in just a few thousand miles. Now whether that was due to shoddy workmanship at the factory, or a previous shops slip up... well we don't want to point any fingers. So at this point she goes up on the lift to see what damage is done and what her future life will become. Stock turbo replacement again and see what happens? Sell it off as a roller in need of an engine/turbo? Large square flower pot? ... or super angry shop car and parts go getter? Guess which option we chose? Photos soon to come!
