  1. I'm beginning to think they were just full of shit. I've passed all this information along to my dad and I trust he is looking into what needs to be done from here on.. Her truck from my understanding is locked up as evidence until after trial, my mother was the woman involved in the UPS shooting in february... For paperwork we have nothing right now.. As I said I think all the finance papers and legal documents are in her truck. Thank you so much for all your help, We're all more or less just lost on what legal actions needed to be taken to do anything..
  2. From what I've seen the Pioneer AVIC NEX systems look pretty good... Really expensive though for the one with a Capacitive touch screen...

My dad talked to the finance company and he was told they are not allowed to disclose anything unless their name is listed in the loan... all we need to know to keep up the payments is how much it is.. I am 100% sure all the paperwork on the truck and everything else is in her truck, but it's still in police custody. We are still waiting on "valid" death certificates... which we were told could take months for the coroner or whoever to release the cause of death instead of having a "pending".

  5. My dad is looking into a lawyer to deal with some stuff about my mothers untimely death, he is talking lawsuits and stuff... But the main thing my sister and I are worried about is keeping her truck which she just financed in August 2016.. The Finance company is not "allowing" us to work with them on keeping up the payments or even paying it off.. It's not really much but we don't want to lose it because mom was really proud of it and it's just kind of a sentimental thing we would like to keep. So I don't really know shit of how any of this stuff works, is there a specific lawyer we need to look for or is this something we're probably SOL on? Any help would be greatly appreciated as well as suggestions on who we should talk to.
  6. Well hot damn, Makes sense that it looks like a copy. Only I went with all Proforge parts, heard nothing but good about them and they were fairly cheap...and those billet adjuster, so worth the extra $$ if not just for looking so much better than the stock clamp style adjuster. I went ahead and ordered the moog 5660 spring this morning, they were only$62 from summit after shipping...so if I don't like them I'm not out much... may look into drop springs after I get the wheels and tires put on, just really didn't want to spend all this money on new suspension and then put it back together with old crappy looking rusted springs

  8. What control arms are you running?? Not really looking to drop the front, especially since I don't know how well the new wheel/tires will fit.. I just want to stiffen up the front a little bit. Looking at the moog 5660 which should be a stock spring rate.... Maybe my springs are just a little worn after 25 years. Also been playing around with my Syclone in Forza 6 which is setup as close to my S10 as possible and I got the best handling/lap times with the 598 spring rate

Got a little bit of work done today... finished removing the LCAs and got the new spohn parts loosely installed. gotta go get a spring compressor before I can put the spring back in but I'm also not sure if I should replace the springs while I have it apart. they are only like $52 I could go with the ZQ8 springs which are a little firmer? Really excited to see how much of a difference the new suspension makes in ride/handling.... and obviously to see how well it runs without any exhaust leaks! That'll be an absolute first.... since I was never able to completely seal the collectors on the short tubes.

Saw this wine a few weeks ago at The Andersons off Brice road, thought it would be a fun little joke to have a bottle for watching netflix with friends Went back to buy a bottle and they were out of it, told me they wouldn't be getting anymore from their Distributor. I've been searching all over the internet trying to find this stuff...but with no luck on actually sourcing it or finding the winery. All I have been able to find are the bottles on Vivino. which are All I really know is the name, I think it is an Italian import...but I could be wrong. Closest thing I have found is Chill. out of California...Which same idea, they just don't look as classy. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
  13. Have not really been taking a lot of pictures... Rusted parts are just pissing me off... seems like everything I do the truck fights me... Had to cut off several nuts Saturday removing the upper control arms... Tried to take the body mounts loose and the top nut broke loose(I just replaced the mounts and bolts in 2014) Now I'm waiting on spring isolators from jegs, since they never have any parts in stock these days.   14. Got my hoopty partially pulled apart installing the 2017 upgrades... While I have the headers off I figured I'd check the exhaust valve... and this is what they look like. http://leameperdue.tumblr.com/post/157201889204 that's all eight... not in any kind of order. Just curious is I should be worried about the black oily build up at the top of the valves? I just replaced the oil seals in 2015 when I put this engine in.
  15. They came in today while I was at work they are a lot more compact than I thought and the 1 7/8th primaries look huge. And for $1,100 normal retail I was kind of expecting the quality to be a lot better..... like they look and feel solid, but like I guess just the "finish" is lacking kinda making them look like some $100 ebay specials... Not going to waste time trying to polish them before Installing because 6months after they get put on they will change colors and get a dull finish just like my current short tubes.

  17. Small update. Installed a L98 waterpump in october, So no longer have a huge radiator hose snaking around the engine bay and also made it possible to run a car intake if I decide to get one. Got my dad to drive the truck around 270 a few months ago while I dicked around with hptuners RTT seems to be running great with the spark adjustments I made. getting an estimated 310hp at the crank based on injector duty. 15hp over stock doesn't sound unreasonable. still getting about 17-18mpg city A friend that works are tire discounters scored me a free set of Verde Parallax 19x8.5 wheels, so now the hunt for good summer tires is on. http://68.media.tumblr.com/f7f0643b16849d0908387e59763a500a/tumblr_oi6w6kn38i1suerqbo1_1280.jpg gonna look super bad ass with a good set of 245/50's on it. And lastly.... I finally convinced myself I need it so I ordered a set of stainless works longtube headers on Friday. Up next is Spohn control arms.....which I've been saying I'll buy the last three years. but now I HAVE to, can't run the longtubes with the stock stamped uppers. And I'm trying to make sure I get the fenders and everything painted this spring so to truck will at least start to look good.

  19. My mom bought a 2006 avalanche z71 last month, vin Z with the L59.. which I think was the only option on that trim. But I was messing around in the tune last night and noticed that it said the fuel sensor was not fitted. I've read up on these...or I guess the 2003-2005 and they had mad the fuel sensor and fuel filter on the frame, under the driver's door, next to the transfer case and torsion bar... 20 minutes with a flash light and crawling around in the cold.... Her truck does not have a fuel sensor OR a fuel filter.... So I'm really curious as the how the hell the flex fuel works on this thing, can anyone here explain? All I can find online is UP TO 2005.   21. After trying and trying and even showed him a WS6 that was advertised at 10.9 for 7k he's still set on blowing up his truck.. I get the desire to go fast in something that is not supposed to be fast but damn... This is going to be a costly mistake. And the "cost appeal" of the cheap turbo kits, I'm guilty of wanting to rig up a $400 ebay kit for a fiero on my S10 when it still had a 2.8....   22. He just bought a Daytona R/T last year and thought he was going to throw a centrifugal supercharger on it... Only to find out the pistons in them grenade with boost. He's trying to go fast as cheaply as possible. I don't get it really He KNOWS speed is expensive. He's seen even seen me try to skirt by with homemade or cheap alternative parts on my piece of shit only to see it stop working...and eventually blow up in my face. Just looked at that, I'll show it to him, maybe try to sway him into another car lol Had a really good engine builder...and was willing to drop several thousand dollars on good parts. Man knows how to set up a leaf spring rear end and can tune a carb like no other..... When it comes to the new fangled stuff he sees something on YouTube and believes that is every outcome. He's got bikes....just bought a.....uh.... Harley something or other glide. Back in like March.   23. It's what he has as a DD and for whatever reason he wants to make it a 1,000hp daily... I personally would rather he get another firebird or something cool.....like an old impala or K5... But his truck is clean and has nothing wrong with it mechanically. No doubt they can, but he just wants to bolt on this cheap ass kit and call it a day. No new fuel pump, no injectors, no ARP bolts....just the kit and boom 1,000hp for $2,000.. He thinks that since the listing says it's a 1,000hp kit... He won't need to change anything...   24. Because when it blows up it becomes my responsibility to replace the engine.... Oh, no I've got him to understand the transmission and rear end will not hold up.. I've tried to tell him the engine will need more work than just bolting on a turbo, but he's got it in his head for some reason that it will work.... I thought I had him convinced to go Nitrous for awhile, until I told him a laptop would need to be plugged in when ever he used the Nitrous since HPT would be the controller.... I just don't get it, he understands how much you have to do in order to make that kind of power on a SBC but thinks a 4.8 can handle it stock. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  25. Alright, so my dad wants to start racing again...and his urge is being fueled by street outlaws. He used to race a grey 1980 firebird out at trails and ran low 10's when he sold it. Now that I've got him convinced to run an LS in a new race car. He wants to use his 2005 Silverado 1500 ext cab with a 4.8 and boost the shit out of it with hopes of running in the 11's but to do this he's looking at some $2,000 eBay kit that says it's good for 1,000hp with twin 52's iirc. And he is also convinced that since hotrod got 1,000hp out of a 4.8 he can do the same without changing any internals.... I've tried to sway him towards the ON3 70mm single kit... Which I know probably isn't much better but it at least looks more professional and doesn't use full silicone cold side piping... So if anyone has horror stories on ebay turbos, or how a 100% stock LR4 can not make 1,000hp and WILL NOT push a nearly 5,000lb truck into the 11's without serious power/modifications Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
