First legit mod done in the wind and snow this morning, got a VCM otr intake installed... The shitty ABS clips they included broke trying to install it so the infill panels are in my trunk until I get nylon ones. Flashed a new tune that is quite a bit more aggressive than what I was running and so far, it seems to have really picked up in the mid-high rpm. Also vanity plates because... Well it's funny. I got a MP maker select plus..... that is in pieces because the Extruder stepper driver crapped out on the board and I've been just putting off compiling for the new firmware for the Arduino/ramps setup I'm retrofitting to it. If anyone less lazy and understands arduino better than me wants to tackle the firmware for me I'm trying to make ADVI3++ work on it to keep the touchscreen working... I've got the firmware installed on the board to test it, and cura recognizes it. just need to remap the pins... I think.

Mod thread for katherine my g8 lol So far with 2020 being a crap year with me working all the overtime.... I've only had time to do small mods in the interior. As of now, I've got: Accent lighting in the console cubby and cup holder. Added footwell lighting Rear aux power outlet, this was a Holden option, gets constant power so it's great for the tire pump. Flashed the atari gauges myself over to the 3 gauges. Unlocked the VIM and added a back up camera Can't see it but it's also got bluetooth on the rear aux. rear muffler delete And messed around with making a economy tune. Managed 24mpg with DoD disabled, only changed 65mph cruise cells in the tune still performs nicely but kicking on the highway gets decent mileage....city is still like 16mpg. Mods to come are: Cam and supporting mods. Already have a dod kit, going to use a summit ghost cam.. Stainless works headers and exhaust. Bit of a fan boy. VCM OTR intake. Coilovers at some point Poly bushings. Torsen diff and probably camaro housing with 3.73. Essentially every basic G8 "build" But I'm going to be adding every possible Holden option from the VE/WM platform I can. Puddle lights in the door cards and puddle lights in the mirrors are the next things I'm adding. I'd love to add heated/auto dimming side mirrors but can't find replacement glass that auto dims for the Chevy SS.. Other than the cam going in this spring, I'm also planning to strip the wheels and do clear powder coating, since one has a small chip in the clear I want to fix before it get bad. As for things that need to be fix I gotta replace/refinish the headlights, I want to do custom ones either dual projectors or some Aussie imports that have sequential signals. Front bumper is split and I need to fix that. Super easy. And the driver seat leather is wrecked, going to get all new katskinz leather, would like to get a 2009.5 rear seat bottom that has the cup holder beforehand. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

With Carlisle fast approaching, I haven't even bought the first part yet.. but after driving around the G8, I've kinda been tossing around the idea of leaving the 5.3 stock and using that cam money on a aluminum 6.0 or 6.2... I'd either switch to an E40/T42 or swap out my crank and keep using the 0411. I dunno just a thought. Crank pulley/damper puller for an LS? Changed the old cracked squeaky belt on my G8 this morning and noticed the crank pulley was wobbling, so gonna replace it on Saturday, just curious if anyone has a puller I can use since it doesn't look like any parts stores have the right one.

Was too lazy/cold/busy to clean but here are some better pictures... Reason I didn't do anything Saturday is because I drove up to mentor for a spare sy/ty bumper [emoji23] Like I said it's got some cosmetic issues... I have no experience but I've been told they eat apex seals about like Subarus blow head gaskets.

Thanks guys, been super hyped for this purchase since I got the bid in early November.. It's got 117k on it and the previous owner had it since 2009. Planning on keeping it pretty mild. Dod with a new Chevrolet performance LS3 cam is about $500 from summit, only looking at doing headers/exhaust, Cai and probably brembos. Finally got a full-time bid at ups after 8½ years of part-time struggles... So to celebrate I bought my first nice car. A 2008 G8 GT hot white with onxy/red interior! Needs some minor work. Hot cam, big brakes, and some other upgrades on the Sonoma. And Ideally I'd like to get a G8 GT this summer so I can put the Sonoma up on jack stands like all the other SyTys lol

A Holden Ute SS, a CTS-V wagon or a G8 GXP... I dunno I'm pretty modest when it comes to cars I guess.

I figured, thought I'd just ask to make sure [emoji28] So I have enough parts and extra wire I "could" add a second mp280 bulkhead to the cap on the sender and use the one with a burnt pin just for the sensor ground and return wire and use the new one for double power and ground 12ga wire. Found the issue with my intermittent fuel pump issue.. the bulkhead and both plugs have melted around the power wire.. Using ALL racetronix parts for 14amps and a walbro 450 pump. Since I'm only having issues with the power, I'm wondering if I'd be safe to combine the ground for the pump and sender and run two power wires? Or would I just end up with ground issues then? Final test fit. Don't know what was going on before but the 1.5" spacers look correct for all 4 [emoji2369] need two new tires, two more spacers and new lug nuts and these can go on. Going to do drop spindles in the front a d 3" in the rear. And hopefully I can get the brembos soon so it doesn't look stupid af with those tiny little brakes. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
