Thanks guy [emoji108] actually working really hard to make this truck look as good as some of the other modified sy/ty. After some more test fitting, it looks like the front need 1.25 and the rears are good at 1.5, but I'll probably just order a full set of 1.25 since I'm running tires a little wider than these on the rear and I don't want any tire poking out from the bed. As for the fronts definitely gotta go with a shorter tire. These are stock 5th gen Camaro 245/50r19 and the hit the back the wheel arch so I'm probably going to go with 245/40 on the front. But as is they fit fine clearing the front and inside of the arch on the ground at the current ride height.kinda hoping I can get these on and ready for a little bit before it starts snowing [emoji23] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

The front it wasn't on the ground because I needed to get .2mm taken out of the center bore on the spacers I have, but the wheel was pushed on the hub as far as it would go which is about 1½"[emoji28] I was going to a use a newer 4wd blazer rearend but at 4½" wider than mine it might push the wheels out a little too far, this is with 1½" spacers on the stock rearend, so I might just have to buy another pair of spacers unfortunately. Found a decent set of the wheels I wanted, $320 and a tank of gas to go pick them up. Gonna reuse the two htr z iii from my black truck and just need to buy two new tires. Already have a 2001 4wd blazer rearend lined up for free, that way I get disk brakes and it's wide enough I don't need another pair of spacers. The fronts I just need to get the center bore fixed. I think I got a set for a 2nd gen s-series and not a first. I think there is a .2 or .3mm difference in size. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Hopefully something like this [emoji28] it's just find the wheels I want that are less than a set of decent aftermarket wheels... Everytime I find the weird 19" wheels they want over $1,000 for them You and Jeff at Honest speed shop have both mentioned that now [emoji23] Don't see it being for sale any time soon Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Well, as winter closes in I'm going to start working a lot of overtime to pay for more car parts to install in the spring. now that everything on the truck is good with just small things to fix. I'm finally looking at some decent upgrades for performance. Mainly I think I'm going to do a Summit 8720 cam since it's WAY cheaper than the others I was looking at and looks like it should make some decent power. along with that I want to do LS7 lifters, new pushrods and trunnion upgrade while I have the top end apart. Thinking about doing 19" camaro SS wheels, to save a little on tires since I still have two new 19s from my black truck and I'm also looking at swapping out the rearend with one from a 2nd gen blazer because it's wider and will save me having to buy another set of spacers, has disk brakes already and I'd like to find one with 3.73 gears so I don't have to buy an aftermarket set. since it's just a daily and I don't expect to more more than 400hp at the crank stock parts should be just fine. After I get wheels big enough, I will eventually do the CTSV brake swap on the front. So expect to see that stuff happening early/mid 2020, who know maybe after 8½ years I'll finally get a fulltime bid at work and I can push this along much faster.

Truck is all clean and ready for tomorrow, even made some new 3D printed stuff for the truck to make it look a little nicer.. Also, I'll have my camera and will be taking pictures of cars, I'm sure there will be plenty of GWC there, but if you want some special/specific shots, I'd be more than happy to take them. I'll be the white trash looking guy with a Blue camera strap.

Alright so recently I've been having a bad time with fuel pump issues in my Sonoma. A few months ago the stealth 340 pump I had been using for 6 years died, replaced with with a walbro 450HP per recommendation of other people. After 6 days it decided to stop working while driving... After pulling the pump and checking it, it seemed to work fine. So I put it back in making sure the ground was clean. That was jack in June or July and I've had zero issue with it until last week. Now the pump is acting up again, but only on start up, the pump just isn't kicking on with the key, if I short the relay to the battery and gently tap the tank the pump kicks on and works just fine. Sometimes once I turn the engine off and turn the key on the pump will kick back on other times it wont. Have not had any issues while driving. Pump was bought from summit, and is hooked up with racetronix hotwire kit on the alternator and bulkhead upgrade and grounded directly to the frame, sanded to bare metal. Never had any issues with the fuel pump for 6 years and now all of a sudden they just don't want to work. Any ideas what this could be other than a bad pump? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Found it was running lean because I had forgotten to plug in the pcv fresh air hose. And the tune before was going pig rich in PE at 10.5. Right now I'm getting 15.7 at idle 14.7 cold start open loop 14.4-15.2 highway cruising And 12.5 for PE Added some more timing and it's running great. One thing I've not been able to figure out is a vibration at idle in gear when it's raining or kinda cool. This goes back to the 4.8 in the black truck no idea what it is. Finally installed a wideband in her. Went with a AEM S-series. Trying to figure out some weird idle fuel trims. And also wanting to check the PE. Just making sure it works in the driveway in park it bounces around 15.8 and 16.2 at idle, drops to around 14.3 (which is what I have set in the tune) at light throttle and when PE kicks in the lowest I saw was 10.6 I believe. When I get motivated to do it I'm hooking it up to the EGR on the pcm so I can do logging in HPT without the pro feature set...and the being zip tied to the defrost vent is just temporary, a fellow sy/ty guy is sending me his old 2 pod pillar.. so that should be here early next week Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

I love the look of the originals with the beauty rings. but I really want modern tires and need something big enough to fit CTSV brakes in the future.. and I can't seem to find anyone offering a OE style wheel in 18 or 19" I'm thinking about getting a set of 18" Camaro heritage steelies and getting them widened a little.. But I'm not sure, I'd really like to go with 19's just to be sure the brakes will fit. As for lowering, that will happen when I put wheels/tires on it. going to do a 2 or 3 in the rear, tighten up the preload on the front springs and get drop spindles.

805 mile round trip to Carlisle PA this past weekend went great with zero issues....other than wish I would have spent the money from the diff on finishing the AC. Got to see some famous trucks in the syty community and really just had a blast... So neat to be part of a car scene that isn't mostly shit boxes or people that shouldn't even work on their cars. Let me figure out where to host all the pictures from the weekend and I'll post them over in a picture thread, so many cool trucks. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Installed a new ignition switch and the horn contact thingy? Now the key doesn't come out while it's in the ON position. and the horn works again

Thanks, it's actually a great feeling knowing other people appreciate what I'm doing. and as sarcastic as that sounds, I'm serious. Yeah it was the handling upgrade over the lsd, but I honestly didn't think it would make that much of a difference without the truck being properly setup for handling. When/if I go back to a 8.8 I'll be getting a torsen diff for it as well. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
-
Ope forgetting to post shit again. Got the torsen diff installed and I LOVE IT! Didn't really think it would be any different than the lsd that was in the old 8.8 but it feels so much more...planted? I dunno feels like its putting down more usable power especially exiting turns.. 4th of July I did the most murican thing I could think of before getting hammered in Troy. Also had to replace the fuel pump as my original Aeromotive Stealth 340 FINALLY died, after 7 years of abuse, after puling it out of the tank the plastic literally disintegrated. went with a E85 compatible pump so that may be a future "upgrade" adding a Flex fuel sensor. Still need to get the A/C stuff ordered and installed, but with parts breaking and doing other upgrades I haven't really had the money. been saying this for a long time, but next year it's getting some meaty wheels/tires (thinking 19" camaro wheels) Brembo brakes up front and stock disk brakes in the rear since the drums won't even hold to 2,000rpm

Saturday August 3 at 1 PM Fricker's in Vandalia https://www.facebook.com/events/714210219020090/ Most of my friends from the Dayton area should be there, so I probably will be too if I'm not working.

Been a minute since the last update... Replaced the pcm, pretty sure I fried it when the O2 sensor pins shorted to 5v. Got a 2001 0411 to replace it and it's been running great since, also replaced the torque converter and flex plate because mine developed a clatter that wasn't the bolts.. Dragged it and my girlfriend to Norwalk for the super summit show and only ran a 14.27 at 99mph and just spun a tire on the autocross. Have a torsen from a 4th gen that I'll be putting in this weekend... Should be 1000x better than the govlock that is in it. And finally got Viking shocks on the rear. I'll drag my hoopty ass truck out so long as you guys promise not to make fun of the crap paint job that is already flaking off...

Making Power Steering Lines/Getting power steering lines made
vonrottes replied to Rally Pat's topic in Tech and Tips
I made the Hydroboost lines for my truck. stainless braided PTFE line, and steel fittings. Honestly it was easier than making fuel/transmission lines using the aluminum AN fittings. Go to your mail order site of choice and just search power steering fittings I wanna say for a Metric GM pump and a HB you are gonna need 16x1.5 O-ring adapters if you go with AN for the Porsche rack I have no idea. -
I'm thinking it may have been a mix of the two in my case. I did start the truck once I got the torque converter unbolted didn't have a rattle but the flex plate was wobbling maybe ⅛”
-
Well got the new flexplate and torque converter in. Old one was not cracked but visibly warped. Just finished it up and started it, engine is quieter and runs smoother than it ever has.
