  1. But speedway on Roberts or Hilliard Rome is always cheaper than Kroger’s ( except for in Polaris) . I use both to fill up the toy.

  3. I'm heading to one of these Mid-Ohio events with my college friend Scott. Most likely will be the MORPCA or NORPCA based on his attendance. Fall is likely as Spring may require me to be in Asia for work. DP
  4. Those were everywhere at PRI this year... One simulator after another from some company.. Nice job.
  5. He has (2) other 2JZ powered cars as well and learned his limit with the 240. One is a 98 Quicksilver Supra Auto built 3.0L w/7675 on it and other is his '95 240 "white rice" 3.0L billet block running an 8685 I believe. The latter is a drag car is as well and just went 6.97 in the 1/4 at World Cup finals.

  11. I've yet to find any auto body shop that doesn't cut corners. It just doesn't pay (insurance wise) to give that much "detail" when it comes to repairing damage let alone repainting a car just because you want to. Time, money, having someone know what they are doing and not taking pride in a shitty job. Its that simple, yet so hard to adhere to. DP

  15. I do 150 miles per day unless I work from home. I run my v6 camry XLE and average 26-28mpg all year. 228k and almost all original sans recommended parts. I suggest a XSE camry if you choose Toyota.

So I take the notion that the car has never been corner balanced nor know what the requester has as far his suspension setup and you compare it to your friend in the best case situation of doing the work with preset ride height and no impact to preload ? Real apples to oranges there for comparison sakes. I never said it was brain surgery but to most people they would do counter productive things that ADD time to getting it setting it up right.
  17. I've seen it done four ways and some variations below: 1. PCV + additional line to a catch can vented to atmosphere 2. PCV + additional line to a catch can that is plumbed back into intake pipe pre-TB using the venturi effect (Speed density cars; I don't think you want to do this to a MAF car) 3. No PCV but separate lines off VC/crankcase to check valves in the exhaust to utilize the venturi effect. 4. No PCV but separate lines off VC/Crankcase to catch can vented to atmosphere. This may offer oil/fuel smell in or around the engine bay. I like No 2 and 4 the most and have used them in various high horsepower application. V8 guys love option 3 but the valves clog up over time (moroso makes a kit) The gain of the factory PCV is at low engine speeds as it draws the crankcase pressure back into the intake for better ring sealing and reduce stresses on engine seals (mains, cams, etc.). At higher engine load/speed it seals off that intake path. In some turbo cases, people have even put auxiliary vacuum pumps on the crankcase to help alleviate this known crank case pressure. Ironically it has helped more than anticipated at times due to promotion of better ring sealing/combustion.
  18. I talked to them about this a couple weeks ago after Dave aligned my supra to custom settings (yes, the car was lowered) . I didn't get the cost on corner balancing but it can vary based on the hours to "balance" the car. The owner did say he just did a 350z that had a multitude of new suspension parts that were adjustable in many fashions. I will most likely consider him in the spring once I need to have this done. If you can get some to corner balance a car for $50, I would love to see who did it and their results. To do it right, I would expect 5-8hrs to set up car right from scratch. Alignments may be around that price ~$50 but's dependent on the application (i.e. trucks with no rear alignment adjustments; fixed axles) DP
