Rotating assembly, crank, rods, rod bearings, pistons (out of LFA engine)- $200- SOLD

  2. Will it be able to do a 20-30 mile cruise if needed?

The fastest list is geared more toward race cars. Will there be some puppy kickers that jump into the street class, sure. If it becomes a problem the rules might have to be tweaked or people will need to become faster.

Yeah, its still a daily driver in the summer. I just prefer to trailer to races in case there is any breakage.

  3. If I say I'm going to do something I will move heaven and earth to make it happen, no talk here.

We've been putting on track rentals and other events for a very long time, if it's something that the site official sponsors it happens.

Sorry, my post wasn't directed at you. Just a general observation.

  4. I got people from other parts of the state wanting to line up some list vs list races after we get this rolling.

So better have your shit right and tight if you want to represent CR against other racers from around the state...

Not sure if they are members here. But Have you reached out to Bill and Billy from street racing channel?

  5. Who's racing a "road racing/autocross" setup C5 at the drag strip?

Who's racing a very street minded 4th gen f-body at the drag strip?

I'll race anyone, but everyone knows close races are way more fun. So where are all the 11-12 second cars?

mine runs 11.8-12.0. I don't have any intention to make this particular car any faster. But I'd be down for some racing.

  6. I'm voting for anything that's cheap or free cause hardly anyone on CR will pay for a track day rental anymore.

Doesn't even have to be a rental. If we could get a few people together at pacemaker some Friday night. It's $10 to get in.

  7. I wonder if Chevy will consider an RST version of the Silverado. I love the looks and performance of the Tahoe RST. A bit lower / tighter suspension, bigger wheels and tires, blacked out chrome and the 6.2.

they do make a silverado RST. Most of the stuff off the tahoe are options on the truck though

  8. i've always been told cross the non drive to the drive wheels

so fwd rears get crossed while heading forward fronts go straight back. This makes each tire only be on each corner 25% of the time(to account for open diffs/toque, unadjustable alignment angles, uneven corner weight etc)

    This is how I rotate

  9. Appreciate the post. Friend of mine was installing his Tacoma tires on some new wheels (same diameter, more aggressive offset and width) and I recommended Mr. Tire on Reed Road. They are great guys who have treated me well in the past with multiple vehicles.

Got a text from him last night saying that Mr. Tire recommended almost 5oz of weights per wheel. I said that sounds very excessive. He confirmed this morning that Mr. Tire "doesn't work much on trucks" and suggested I balance them somewhere else. Gave him a 25% discount for mounting but not balancing.

I referred him to Lewis Center Discount Tire.

This is important in that, most of us on CR know what we want or need done. I feel for the 95% (and climbing) of sheeple who can't turn a wrench or are completely ignorant of mechanics. Can't tell you how many calls/texts/conversations I have every week from family friends who need car advice....

5oz isn't really that bad for truck tires.

  10. Something I've noticed recently is a nasty looking residue on the cladding around the tailpipe, it's dark brown/tan in color, I can scrub it off with a rag and water.

The inside of the pipe is dry soot black.

It's on my Sonoma with a 5.3, no cats, turbo muffler, 3" exhaust all the way back, no cel, no noticeable issues running.

    .....

you can lean it out to try and clean up the exhaust or just live with it

  11. Pistol- .460 rowland. Something quite satisfying about shooting .44 mag power out of a baby 45acp case and 1911. Very close second is .357 mag.

Rifle-Currently I really enjoy shooting .300 blackout. I like the process of converting the cases and reloading for it. I've also been playing around with .30-30 mouse fart loads in the 6-700fps range that shoot like a .22lr but have the satisfying thud of a 165gr bullet
